It -should- be a posibility. Not the only option but an option

Truth be told I thought this would be one of the possible outcomes...

No. I mean I'm okay with it as an option but it isn't mandatory to me. A good ending that  makes sense? Yes. Happy ending where my Shep has a million blue babies? Not necessary as long as the ending is well done, which currently, it is not.

Yes, the option for one if we get a high enough EMS would be nice, especially if we end up paying for it(which we will).

Oh shoot, good point. I didn't even think of the out-of-squad LI's. Ugh, what a mess...

That confrontation if you romanced a new character in ME2 we were promised?

*After having a dance with jack*

Liara: I know you're back with Jack, I don't want to play games.

.......What? Must've been the dirtiest dance ever invented.

Sure, I'd like to have the storybook ending with my LI. I didn't expect to get that, nor do I now. I do expect loose ends to be tied at the end of an epic trilogy. And as another poster so simply said earlier in the thread...

To know the sacrifice was worth a damn.

Mass Effect is (well, was) a game about choice, where your choices mattered.
So, yes, I'd like an ending where Shep and their LI lived happily after defeating the Reapers. The same way I'd like a Reapers Win because you were too rash scenario.
Choice, why weren't we given any? =(

Almost everyone would like that option. Many of us, like myself, would settle for any sort of ending that made sense and fit the themes and tone of the story.

I don't care how cliche the ending would be, way better then what we have now.

Damn straight I want this as an option. If it costs me a bit of money because they need to bring in the actors and actresses to record lines and whatnot, I'm totally fine with that. After the performances they've given in this game, I wouldn't hesitate paying them a little more for their amazing work. They damn well earned it.

And of course the grimdark endings should stay. I've no right to tell anyone who likes the current ones that they should be removed than them telling me I shouldn't have a happily ever after.

From a sales standpoint, this should have been a default ending. I mean, given the option, who wouldn't want to see their Shep prancing off into the sunset with his/her LI? But from an artistic standpoint, it's not necessary; to be honest, from the get-go I was expecting my Shep to wind up having to sacrifice herself for the greater good (whether or not everyone else made it) - IMHO, packs more of an emotional punch.

That being said, when purchasing a game labelled as an RPG that supposedly has romantic elements involved, there is a high level of expectation for a happy sunshines-and-lollipops ending (amongst many other different endings). This is where it gets tricky, as I don't want to sound like one of those "the consumer is always right/gets what they want" critics... In an RPG, I assume my decisions all lead to a different consequence, and of those consequences, there are good ones, bad ones, and ones that fall in-between.  I expect to see decisions that take me into my lover's arms, and ones which will result in nothing but mutual disdain between the two parties.  However, in other forms of media (movies, books, or tv shows), I have no control over what happens to the characters - I'm just along for the ride, and where they go, I go, even if they wind up in places and situations I don't like.  I don't expect my OTPs to live happily forever after in these cases.

I guess to sum up, a ride-off-into-the-sunset ending option seems inevitable for a game like ME3, and I have difficulties understanding why it wouldn't be implemented (even if it did take something ridiculous like 1 million EMS to obtain), HOWEVER, I also recognize that it is not necessarily the best ending for the story in itself.

Must be perfect ending, near impossible to achieve.

Shepard is supposed to die. HOW he dies is the question. If he doesn't, it's because you are a complete bad*** that made sure the entire galaxy was on his side.

I'd certainly like to have it. I wasn't expecting it at all, but I was hoping. It wouldn't be at all inconsistent with the series as some have claimed. This is the same series that spends the entire second installment preparing for a Suicide Mission where everyone is convinced that most if not all of them will not survive, and yet it's possible for everyone to make it out, right down to the nameless Cerberus drones that just stand there. Just like in ME2, I'd expect to have to work for it. Set some super high total for EMS, make me do sidequests that seem completely irrelevant, surprise me with the reward that all of it led to a paragon/renegade interrupt or dialogue option telling the Catalyst that his logic is flawed, or even that we have earned the right to have a chance.

Completely agree! Why would they even create a "storymode" for Mass Effect 3 if the story doesn't even matter in the end?! A lot of gamers were playing for the storyline, I was one of them. I'm not afraid to admit it. I've always loved Bioware because of their ability to create amazing storylines for games. I just want a happy ending. If you had a LI in any of the Mass Effect games, sure you were fighting for the galaxy but you also were fighting for a future with your LI! And to be able to see all of your friends! Where is the happy closure many of us were expecting? =`(

I feel the same way I would gladly pay money for the actors and actersses to come back and give us this as a option! Thats how much this means to me. And the actors and actresses they have had threw all the games are amazing, I loved thier work!

Yes it should have been there but saying "I also recognize that it is not necessarily the best ending for the story in itself". That is just your opinion though, others may see it differently. Like me

Exactly! I did all that! That's why this ending feels like such an insult! I had 100% readiness level on the map, over 7000 in war assets (and able to use all of them because of the 100%) and had found all resourses....and I get this ending?!?!  If this is truly the ending Bioware intended then they've made the biggest F***UP in gaming history! I want to throw my united galaxyforces at the reapers and tear them appart. And after doing all this I expect to survive with my LI at my side. This is what Shepard does!
I'd expect this kind of ending from devs of JRPGs, they've done it before many times, but not from Bioware...they were different, they knew how to end a game with an epic bang....or so I thought until I saw this...mess...totally ignoring everything that happend in all the ME games. So what was it all for? This? That's not right and it's a total copout...

there should absolutely be a golden ending like this.

it should require you to work your ass off to get it, but it should exist.

You people are so unappreciative.

You wanted variety so we gave you a choice of no fewer then 3 colors of lazers shooting down the relays in the end....yet you aren't happy...

FINE! what color do you want? taupe? how about a nice understated eggshell?

understand that this is additional development, so we will have to charget you $10 per color.

Like some of us said already that we would be happy to pay for a happy ending. Look at the other comments.

I would like that, but I am willing to sacrifice that for simply an ending that is not poorly written and does not negate all the choices I made.
