Absolutely as an option no doubt.

I have no problem if Shepard -has- to die, as an ultimate sacrifice, but the option where your LI comes up to you and says they won't leave your side ever, and you both die together in eachother's arms would be satisfying in itself at least in my opinion.

Of course I'm always open to the idea of a happy ending where shep and the LI are happy together and the camera pans back revealing a nice sunset, then fade to black and cue music :D

Exactly what I was looking forward to. Instead everything got destroyed/killed and those who survived will inevitably destroy/kill eachother and if there's someone still standing after that he/she'll probably starve to death. I tried to use my imagination to find a glimpse of hope for Shepard and his LI but bioware made sure you have to be a champion of ignorance to create sth positive from this ending.

This is one of the reasons I felt so trolled. The Kaidan romance was adorable, and well written, especially the goodbye scene. I still can't believe Bioware wouldn't give any closure to that.
I would mail them my credit card to get them started working on that. (umm... it has a 500 dollar limit and is close to maxed out already. sorry. but its something.)

Im just curious if anyone els feels the same way i do. Because I feel that should have been there for people who wanted it, to be with the person you got so emotionailly attached to.

Duh, and or hello? That's what so many of us do want buddy. At least have the option in the game. Mass Effect is so big on choice, so where is it?

Pretty sure everyone wants what ending.

Its a very sneaky way to get publicity at the moment but very disastrous to morale for long term fans.

Its the same as getting Barney the dinosaur (all the little kids that love) and blowing his head off and telling the kids its over.

Itd be nice OP, but the best we can settle for with LIs right now is finishing the game with 1750 as your readiness score so that they'll die with you. They'll be together in video game heaven at least. Beats the stranded ending.

Are you kidding?? Ofcourse I want that happy ending X) at least a scene where LI helps Shep up on her/his feet after everything was over would be fine for me. But most of all I want an ending that reflects my decision. An array of endings from sugarry sweet to the darkest of them all (I.e: repers winning)

Liara once asked my Shepard: So tell me what you want, if this all ends tomorrow, what happens to us?
To which my Shepard answered: I don't know. Marriage, old age and alot of little blue children?

And thats the future she deserves.

And you know the best part about that?  In order to give that response about the blue children, you have to pick a dialogue option that says, "Happily ever after."

The ending doesn't necessarily have to be happy for Shep to still be alive and with their LI.

Choice and Closure are what is truly lacking from the ending, a Virmire like scene in London could have been EPIC, the outcomes of which could have been influenced by your EMS score.

I.E. You get two calls over radio from both your LI and another character, Wrex perhaps, you chose who to aid, and that person survives, the other character lives or dies based of your EMS combined with other hidden factors such as that characters combat ability and other sidequests you may have completed.

I dont care what kind of ending I got as long as something as the Star Child and the magic lasers are not involved(assuming all that crap was real).

Yeah, that would be nice. An ending where, after Shepard does everything right, he doesn't get screwed over. He (or she) save the galaxy and get to live and start a family, finally able to rest.

Also, there needs to be sacrifice, provided he wasn't your LI, would you have been willing to sacrifice Garrus to save your significant other? What about sacrificing an entire refugee camp? A fully manned Quarian liveship?

These are the types of choices I expected from the ending, not choose what color you want to end civilization with.

ROFL! This war was supposed to be impossible. Eons of life has been eradicated by the Reapers and Shep is just supposed to dominate them and dry hump his love interest at the end? I'll stick to the current ending.

War is all about sacrifice. The fact that you guys think that this is even an option is mind blowing.

It wasn't the ending that bothered me. It was the fact that your decisions throughout ME1 and ME2 didn't make a real impact on the games endings. All that mattered were your War Assets. And you can get near infinite War Assets playing multiplayer.

Way to miss the point bro...

In the end, the desire for your Shep to survive, and for his/her Significant Other to survive should have been counter balanced with a sacrifice.

IE. Are you willing to sacrifice another member of your team for them, Ala Virmire. Though, seeing as how this is supposed to be a near unwinnable war, the stakes would need to be higher, like I stated in my above post.

Would sacrifice the rest of your team for them?

What about an entire refugee camp?

A fully manned dreadnaught or liveship?

The outcome of these could have been influenced by the EMS as well as other factors.

Chose your LI over a Quarian Liveship? Okay, did you unite the Geth and Quarians? And is your EMS>3000?  If both these conditions are met then maybe the Geth swoop in to Evac the survivors from the ship, if not, then all the Quarians on that ship die.

These are the types of choices and consequences we SHOULD have gotten from the ending. Not multi-colored space magic.

Yes, a thousand times yes. Hudson said that there was no cannon ending damn it! We should be able to live! Why give us this bull**** Hobson's choice of three endings with different colours?

WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHOOSE TO LIVE.

I would really enjoy a happy ending with my LI, but I wouldn't feel cheated by not getting one. I always felt that Shep would die, and to me it makes the most emotional impact and sense given the circumstances. Obviously with the choices we are given for endings, I'd happily takes anything from bleak with closure to rainbows and butterflies as long as it addresses the major flaws in the closing moments.

But if they showed me actually kissing Tali, and not just her mask.../mancry

I, like the majority of the people here i would wager, would love an ending where this happens. I wouldn't mind if it was difficult to achieve (an almost "perfect" game, a very high EMS, whatever), but i at least want the CHOICE. I wouldn't mind there being endings where shepard dies, but couldn't have one where s/he get a happy ending?
I think we, the fans, deserves it.
I think Mass Effect deserves it.
And i definitely think Shepard deserves it.

Me!
I was confident that would be an option in the game, after all our Shepard's been throught.
And the Kaidan romance was done so beautifully in this game, it's just heartbreaking...That last conversation.....damnit!

I'm all for that ending as an option.

I am also for one where Shepard dies as long as there is a point to it and it makes sense.  I say keep the endings we have don't take them from the people who like them just give us more options.

This is the best option I think i came up with for the Shepard dies ending.

Shepard is in a situation where he can defeat the Reapers and live but
he would be risking the lives of his team after losing so many friends
earlier in the game he decides he is not going to lose anyone else so he
goes on a suicide mission that saves the Galaxy. Cut to a few years
later we are on the Citidel.  We see that the races are united in a way
they never were before, the cousil is not just made up of three older
races controlling everything every race that helped fight the Reapers
now has a voice in it and races that were fighting eachother are now
working together.  Tali is seen walking around with out her suit,Garus
is now in charge of the military, and now this is where things change
based on a choice the player makes.  There is a statue of Shepard and
Liara is talking about now if she was not Shepard's LI she is telling
about group of school children about Shepard,if she was Shepard's LI she
is talling a child about it and in the end she says "your father was a
hero" roll credits.  that ending shows Shepard paying a price but it
shows that there was a reason and that there is hope and that he died
making the galaxy a better place and maybe even saving his family.

Anyone else like this idea?
