That was absolutely glorious, I could visualize it perfectly and it makes so much sense.
Thanks alot OP, now I'm depressed thinking of what could've been. Saying no just makes so much more sense, imagine that ending to this music
It fits perfectly with the ME series as well, damn it.

Would have been better than the endings we got but I'm not a huge fan. When you say "no" i want the child to try to intimidate you into making the choice. Reveal that little brat as the evil genocidal maniac that it is.

I think we should be able to fling the child god into the synthesis beam so he burns up like the emperor in star wars.

Read with this playing, makes the read even BETTER.

Awesome ending. This is almost verbatim what my Shepard would of done.

This is now the Canon ending. That and Casey Hudson goes to write fanfiction for Twilight forums.

Yes. The ending was absurd. This I could live with. Yes.

Sorry, but this seems absurd. Reapers just leave because Shephard says so?.... ROFL....

Shepard lives, you say? And is with his LI?

Very well done! I could actually see the scene in my mind. Hear Shepard's voice saying those exact words.

A well written and I think quite easily implementable ending, nice one OP. Also like that Shep can be with his/her LI too in your ending, BRAVO!

That was what I wanted to say as well. Nice speech there by the way OP, well done.
I could also imagine this as a point where you have both, a paragon and a renegade interrupt. The paragon would play out like you said. In the renegade, the theme of the speech would be a bit different, rather along the lines of calling the kid out on the mistake of his arguments then the persuasive paragon stance. But as a minimum change option, it could work.

I like the "no" part, and I really like the speech. But there's no way I buy the reapers are just going to leave. Not for a paragon interrupt they wont. I say that at that point the war continues conventionally until one side wins. If you have what it takes you win, if not you lose.
Making it so that the reapers just leave because you convinced them dumbs down the story. They are super intelligent creatures that have seen history repeat for millions of years and watched thousands of other species attempt what you just did. Reasoning with them would be the easy way out for the narrative.
An omnipotent machine shouldn't simply take your word for it just as you shouldn't take the word from him in the first place. I like where your heart is, but I don't accept that the reapers will *just leave*. Why should they anyway.

That's a much better ending, we still need more closure at the end based on the decisions we made along the way. 10 minutes of cutscenes based on the big decisions we made along the way. So we can replay our other Shepards and see how the cutscenes change.

I like the fact that people want a happy ending, but this happy? Nah, let's not transform a cliche into another one. I agree on the interrupt, but the reapers leaving part is absurd.
