But it's certainly better than the ending we got and it makes much more sense.

P(x): synthetic species x will wipe out all life

So that's about as convincing as saying 3 is prime, 5 is prime, 7 is prime therefore all odd numbers are prime.

Sorry, but this seems absurd. Reapers just leave because Shephard says so?.... ROFL....

I like the fact that people want a happy ending, but this happy? Nah, let's not transform a cliche into another one. I agree on the interrupt, but the reapers leaving part is absurd.
I like this ending suggestion, but if the idea of the Reapers ending is too hard to swallow. How about modifying it like this:
If you prevail over creepy gawdchild, he shuts off and the loss of his signal to the Reapers ends their coordination and some of their monolithic power. In the sword battle outside the Citadel and in the desparate battles going on all over galaxy, the Reapers lose the ability to coordinate their forces and themselves effectively in the suddent confusion giving the Grand Alliance the opening it needs to have a fighting chance.
Were your war assets enough? The higher they are, the more and better the results of the battle cutscenes you see play out during this part of the finale.
The Reapers and their forces are shattered, decimated and scattered. Conventional military forces will be cleaning up for a long time, but the fight is essentially won.

Because lets face it, THIS is what Paragon Shep would have done!
No compromises, no blind submission, he would have fought to the end and gave an epic speech doing so!
This ending is now my headcanon.

First off, whoever came up with the idea of calling the Catalyst "Starchild" should have their ear flicked repeatedly. Anyway, if the Catalyst actually could just tell the Reapers to leave, Shepard wouldn't have needed to sacrifice himself to alter their minds. An interrupt option would essentially just be wasting time while more of your fleet is obliterated. Shepard was in no position to be calling the shots, wounded and dealing with technology he didn't understand while his friends and allies were dying. He ended the Reaper threat by swallowing his pride and listening to the Catalyst, which was truly heroic. His trust was rewarded, as the Catalyst wound up being honest about what would happen with each choice Shepard made. Saying "I won't listen to you, we'll keep fighting!" would have just condemned everyone to death.
If this is the case, then there's no reason for Shep or anyone else to be there in the first place and every single thing you've done over the course of the last three games is absolutely pointless which is why no one likes these endings now - same thing - nothing we did matters.

I mean it's not perfect, but anything is better then the ending as it stands.

Now, it's much better than what BioWare came up with, but I'd rather have more choice in what to say. I hated that ME3 took away almost every control I had over Shepard, this doesn't do it any better.
But because I know you weren't going to spend five days writing this, I'm just gonna shut up and say KUDOS. Because this was really well written and I like the contrast of tone between Paragon and Renegade.
