[Palindromes]

I'm trying to figure out if I've screwed up my character's romance. Here's the back story:

I play FemShep.
In ME1, I romanced Liara.
In ME2, I imported my ME1 character and romanced Thane. I didn't do LotSB.

In ME3, I imported my character from 1 and 2. Towards the beginning of the game, Liara asked me something along the lines of "are you still interested in me", and I said yes. Later on, I got a message from Thane and went to see him in the hospital. Because of the way his scenes played out (limited dialogue, he wouldn't leave the hospital or come with me or really do anything), I assumed he was not a main love interest and I instigated the "private time" with him. But when I went back to my ship, Liara said something like "I know you went back to Thane." and then "if you want to talk, you should come back later".

Now, when I go to see Liara on the ship or when we're docked at the Citadel, she won't actually engage in conversation with me. I only got her to engage in conversation with me once, on the ship. She seemed flirtatious. She asked me something like "Why are you trying to save the world?" and I said something like "I do it for you" and she gave me a kiss on the cheek. But other than that, she won't talk to me.

Is romancing Liara no longer an option for me? Am I "locked in" to Thane, even though he is now dead?

You should have sent Thane through the ducts in ME2 SM..... then, no problem!

Except for the thane part I am in a similar situation on two fem sheps using the same ME2 import which romanced Liara in ME 1 and ME2. I told her I was still interested, talked to her every chance I got and did everything I could to get with her nothing seems to work. Even tried following IGN's Liara romance "Guide" and at the part where you invite her to your cabin I never get an option about being more than friends and never get email afterwards to meet her on the citadel and so we get stuck being just friends. Dont if its my import or a bug or what but its annoying that failing for no apparent reason on two playthroughs to romance someone, even following "guides" to the letter and still failing.

How far are you in the story? Liara doesn't engage in any more cutscenes until much closer to the ending. There's the kiss on the cheek, a playful scene in your room (I'll leave out details since you haven't seen it yet), the sex scene prior to battling the Reapers on Earth, and finally a touching moment before the last half of the Earth battle.

Other than that, you just get her one liners in the XO cabin.

I hope she is still available. I know going back to Thane wasn't very nice towards her, but come on that guy is dying... Having some private time in the middle of a hospital was the least I could do for him!

Just got a to a cutscene where she kissed me on the cheek again and everything *seems* fine.

Hey all, thanks for the replies! I only had a little time last night so I did one small side mission and after that, I got the message from Liara asking me to meet her on the Citadel. When I met up with her, I had the option to confirm our relationship. YAY!

So in conclusion, YES you can have private time with Thane and still have a relationship with other characters, including Liara!
