I took this at 1920x1200 with the Character Creator, all settings maxed except AA which is at 4x

Yeah I took some really nice pictures and my card isn't top of the line, it's newer though.
I can't even upload the ingame screens I took with PrtScrn that are saved in the Bioware folder under user/documents/bioware/screenshots. It keeps saying that it can't parse the image and that it may be corrupt when I try to upload it to my album on the social network any ideas?

The graphics look more than reasonable for a game of this type. Theyre not crap, but there not going to compete with Crysis. Aslong as theyre decent enough to portray the settings and story, itll do me.

Dragon Age has been in development for a looong time. The graphics are just fine. Someone will most likely mod the textures and such anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, graphics have long reached the points where any improvement will be minor, at best.

Yeah not that I can get the pics to upload but at the settings I described up above 1900x1200 at max settings everything looks great in my opinion, the little details on my characters belt or the fine strands of hair on his head when I zoom in. I am quite happy with the graphics as is and do not consider them subpar.

DA:O has great settings and I think the bosses look great. But I find the humanoid races designs a bit lack buster, but that is a personal taste difference and not a "low polygon count" type of judgement.

I found the character models in Divinity 2 to be quite good. Not very varied, but very appealing. Let's see how DA stacks up..

Exactly, don't expect to see any multiplatform release to look any better than a game of three generations ago because this is the maximum for consoles.

The graphics are dated for some people it matters for some it doesn't as much. For me it kinda matters i like eye candy.

I havent even heard that the graphics are BAD, just that they arent spectacularly great. I can live with that

Yea, the graphics are pretty standard for this type of game. However, as has been stated, graphics are nearing their peak. With a game of this size, the graphics are very well done. Not crysis standard, as has also been said, but crysis was specifically designed to be futuristic, so nothing really matches the graphics there.

I am putting my money where my mouth is, and posting screenshots from my Xbox 360. Despite the issues with the PC version, I only wish we had those problems. Once you see the Viking Ship, you'll understand what I mean I think. Also, we cannot get texture packs from independent sources, so we are reliant on Bioware to fix these issues.

That link contains some excellent examples for your arguement indeed. However after just finishing the game an hour ago and spending about 100 hours with the game (98 hours on completion and a few extra with reloading) I can say that I never encountered anything as bad as the viking ship you posted. I remember seeing that ship in the fade and it was rendered fine, not exquisite but nothing like the version you posted. Infact feel free to browse my screenshots in my gallery, I have at least 100 I believe uploaded on the site. I have the PC version though so keep that in mind. My little brother picked up the 360 version and I will agree it's not easy on the eyes, while not terrible, nothing really struck as looking good. Compared to Modern Warfare 2 which had superb graphics, I was not pleased.

Honestly... who gives a ****? I don't understand why people care how shiny the game is as long as it's fun.

The problem is really with the models and animations. The idle and conversation animations in particular are awkward and not life-like.

I played PC and 360 versions. The PC has good(not great) graphics. The 360 has awful graphics.

I have the PC version, and my video is pretty awesome! After looking at the video for the 360, I'm glad I have a PC (LOL)! Seriously, I take graphics with a grain of salt, I have everything on Very High and I have to say, the video equals the Very High quality!
I must say, this is one of the MOST enjoyable games I have ever played. This is the ONLY game that has not hiccuped or crashed once since I started the game. Great frame rate and I didn't have to turn everything off to get it to start! Thank You Bioware!

^ kinda blunt but I agree.
The graphics in general are extremely good, the only thing that might put people off is that the colors are a tad bland and gray - but I assume that might very well be intended.
So if you are used to sci-fi setting games, WoW or some other really colorful game it might look poor to you.

graphics are good, but nowhere near great. They look alot like Knights of the Old Republic graphics.
The above post mentions wow, but wow graphics aren't all that great (kind of cartoony), but the detail is higher.
The detail on this game is lacking. I was really hoping the trees would look better from the high views at Ostagar, or looking up in the mountains in that Haven area. But they are acceptable for a rpg.

I have everything on max settings. The graphics are not "awesome". The graphics are mediocre. At least they aren't AWFUL like they were in NWN. Honestly it was the graphics and the crappy camera/UI that put me off of NWN more than anything else. I found it unbearable. But a lot of people loved that game, and those same people will say that the graphics in DAO are "freaking awesome" even though anyone who has played other CRPGs lately knows it ain't so.
You know, I'm almost positive the models are higher polygon count and the textures are more detailed in this than Lord of the Rings Online. How come Lord of the Rings Online looks better? No valid reason.
