Isn't that Aller's only purpose though? They certainly didn't hire Chobot for her voice acting talent.

I wouldn't even put it past BioWare to have actually hired her because they thought she was a good voice actor. Quality doesn't seem to be their strong suit anymore.

Because Jessica Chobot appeals to many "nerds" in the gaming industry. When she did the daily fix on IGN the comments were full of perverted teens and young adults saying what they would do to her sexually.

My guess is Bioware attempted to take advantage of this, knowing a lot of people would jump into it if they had a chance to sex her up.

Other than that there are no logical conclusions.

But please, someone tell me I'm wrong. Tell me it's because Chobot is SUCH a good reporter so she DESERVED to be in the game.

I like the idea of her character and wish they had run with the concept having a reporter tag along, but yes, her model (3d model, not Jessica Chobot) is surprisingly unsettling to look at. I think that it is partly due to the lighting and her dress.

That said--and as someone mentioned--she is also bait for Chobot fans. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we see future DLC (not necessarily from ME) based around letting people "romance" their favorite internet celebrity.

Actually, she can provide more War Asset possibilities based on your responses to her interviews. That said, her role could've easily been filled by Emily Wong or even Khalisa al-Jilani.

I don't think Chobot is ugly or anything in real life, there's just something off about the character model for me. Maybe it's just the uncanny valley kicking in or something. I've gotten this odd feeling of 'wrongness' from other characters with faces based on real people.

Her voice acting hurts and the way she's modeled looks terrible coupled with the choice of outfits. I took her on this forst trip but god help I'll never bring that troll on my ship again!

Her face and skin color and dress...everything was unsettling. Looked so fake. The Jershey shore joke spawned from her and James Vega(even though James Vega's character and VA aren't bad). I didn't let her on my ship in my first, main playthrough. Did it the second time I started. All she is, is some nice extra War Assest points. Useless, but it's nice to rack them up to look nice.

I could care less about her looks, honestly. My big problem with her is that it's obvious she's reading from a script when you listen to her. Her delivery is as wooden as it gets.
The idea to have a reporter on the ship is a good one, I just wish they picked someone with actual acting experience. Nothing against the woman herself, but she sticks out like a sore thumb in an otherwise well casted group.

No she is not. Nothing attractive about that character. More disturbing looking if anything.
