Well, I ordered the Collector's Edition from Walmart with Release date Shipping in January or February. Walmart left me in the dark until a couple of days ago when they eventually provided tracking. Until that point I had no idea if I was receiving it from UPS, USPS or what. The only way I knew that Walmart was delaying orders was from reading posts on this forum by people who have contacted them.

Today, on the 12th, I was finally delivered the CE. I open the packaging.. then I heard something rolling around. I knew right away it was the disc. I was not at all surprised by this. I was even less surprised to open the case and see disc 1 with deep scratches along the side.

Sorry for the quality. It's not easy to take photos of DVDs.

After all this messing around I'm not really sure what to do. Would EA or Walmart consider replacing the disc? Or should I just "deal with it" and hope the disc functions properly through every moment.

I also assumed there would be a 10 dollar gift card included (something I've heard numerous people say) but they in no way compensate me for the delay, other than shipping me a damaged game.

That sucks :/ I say call them and say a lot of ****, make them feel horrible and demand your money back or another CE.
Then threaten to kill a puppy if they don't comply.

I know. I wonder if they even have copies left? I mean they're obviously sold out, officialy. But I suppose they keep a small stack of reserves.

Eh... I'll try calling them.

I have the same problem, I'm trying to figure out how to contact EA or Bioware for
help because walmart refunds what they cant replace. I'm not sure if I got the argus rifle
either. The metal case was crushed and disc one got a scratch on it, it istalled on the hard
drive okay. I'm still worried it will die on me mid game though.

I'm having a similar problem with Best Buy, my disc two sometimes works and does not work. I just called them about two minutes ago they said they could have replaced it but that no Best Buys have anymore CEs. I asked if I could then have the discs from a regular version of Mass Effect and give them mine and she said no. Am I screwed?

I'm pretty sure both EA and Best Buy/Walmart have warranties that are supposed to cover this type of thing. Just keep trying them. I emailed Walmart but I expect some "nothing we can do" kind of response. You can't really expect anything less from an untouchable corportation with an army of lawyers. Walmart can pretty much get away with murder.

Here's what I did, called my closest GameStop and asked if they had any preowned versions of ME3. I was told they indeed had one.  I took 3 old 360 games that I was willing to part with and just for kicks my discs from ME3, to my surprise he bought back my ME3 for $50, sold me a brand new version for the same price.  I paid taxes, and preordered Ghost Recon Future Soldier and in about an hour I plan on seeing if my Cereberus mission hiccup is fixed, I think it will be...

be.

They (EA,Bioware)Packaged those CEs in a bad way, mine was fine but I hate hearing loose disks,If they would have put the first disk in a envelope it would not have added any weight but would have protected the disk.Maybe a Skip Dr. would also help if you or a friend have one of them.

I was emailed by Walmart. They said they could replace it, but I'm not sure I believe that. I'll find out.

Hmph, I got mine today in the mail. I can hear a disc rolling around and the the box that holds the xtras is half ripped. I'm afraid to open it  lol  I'll never be ording anything from walmart again.

I wouldn't have minded if it was just small scratches.. but they look deep and I think around the edges are the worst place to get them.

They shipped it in a thin cheap bubble mailer, it should have at least been boxed up. I ordered this one for my friend, he'll be mad if the disc is scratched up  lol

They wrapped mine like how they'd wrap your sandwhich at the deli. However I think it's the manufacturer's fault for making such a shoddy disc holder.

So Walmart has agreed to give me a return. I'm not sure if it will actually happen but they have sent me a pre-paid shipping label to sent my CE back.

Worst case scenario: They refund me what I paid. I wouldn't mind this too much because I've already used the codes that came with it.

Best case scenario: They have some reserves in stock and will send me a brand new copy.

I'll update what ends up happening if anyone is interested.
