 I've gone into the wilds to get 3 vials of darkspawn blood as instructed by Duncan so that I can complete the Grey Warden ritual. I've recovered 4 vials of blood (and the documents) and have returned to Duncan. However, the dialogue with Duncan goes along the lines of "yes I have found the documents but no I haven't got the blood yet". The blood is sitting there in my inventory and I'm well and truly stuck. I've tried to sell one vial but you can't sell plot items. I don't see any way of dropping things either. Any help greatly appreciated.

You should post this in teh tech support forums, you will probably have a better response there.

I usually get 4 vials but have no trouble with it. Did you get the documents?? First time I did it I ran back after getting the blood vials and he asked about the documents. So now I just clear the whole wilds in one run.....

Yeah I've got the documents and Duncan says as much but he then says I'd better get the vials of blood before nightfall.

Maybe you should just start your save over and then if it happens again start panic-ing

Okay, I'm panicking. I've started the whole game over ... why not, it's brilliant and I guess I'll just pick up three and only three vials of darkspawn blood when I get there. Fingers crossed.

I haven't had a single problem when I pick up 4. I see the fourth one and say "Whatever", pick it up, move along on my merry way, finish the entirety of the Wilds, give them to Duncan, boom, quest done. Hope everything goes alright for ya.

Well, I started over with a new game and a new character (playing the dwarf commoner origin) and I've got to the blood and documents quest and guess what ... exactly the same thing. Duncan takes the documents but not the vials of blood in my inventory - perhaps he's just having a joke with me. Have I missed something here or is there a problem with my game?

It does indeed sound like a problem. If you're a PC user, are you running any mods? There may be a conflict. Are you fully patched, again, if you're on the PC version? No ideas otherwise. :/

No mods. I haven't patched the game, will give it a try.

Me too but patching hasn't helped. I'm still well and truly stuck. I've got the blood but I keep telling Duncan that I haven't got it yet. Thanks for all the advice so far everybody. Is there any cheat or command that would hurdle this quest and get me back in the game?

PS I've been searching through the forums and it looks like a few people have had this problem. One possible solution is a complete uninstall and reinstall.

The only thing I have ever had a problem with is the patch, so I don't use it - I have never had a problem with the 4 vials and have played all the origins to at least Lothering.
