This.
The ending actually made it the worst part of the series for me.

No, not when you're sad, empty, and distraught because of the execution and lack of closure rather than being emotionally moved by a superbly executed and written ending that brings satisfying closure. ME3's ending(s) are the former...what we hoped for was the latter.

True. I've been told the same many times.
Although if I agree that ME2 is kind of pointless for its story, it still brings interesting things to the series such as deeper relations with squadmates and improved shooting.
The collector base is also really well done, I wish ME3 had the same kind of last mission where your decisions really change the outcome.
Speaking of the collector base, is the human reaper thing explained at some point in ME3 ? Do someone explain why it has a different shape ?

The ending summed up in one picture (spoilers):

Seriously, whoever wrote the ending should be tarred and feathered - the ending goes beyond full retard, and somehow it got greenlit for the final game. It's mind-boggling.
lol
circular logic ftw!!

The endings would be a lot better if we had some sort of epilogue explaining what the blue **** just happened, and what happens next.
You might be familiar with the stargazer? That was our epilogue. Yeah. <_<

Assuming this happens at the end (I'm not finished yet...) then what point would there be in continuing to play after the ending? There'd be no point collecting war assets if the war has been won, so practically all of the side quests would become pointless.
I never played ME or ME2 to see the endings, and I'm definitely not a BioWare apologist/sycophant (I was only too happy to bash the shortcomings of ME2 as I'd perceived them, once I'd completed it), I played the games to see how different decisions would affect each game.
What people seem to be craving is the ability to see what happens to their squads after the game has ended. Ok, fair enough. But then what? You talk to everybody, hear what they have to say, and then Garrus starts telling you that he has calibrations to finish every time you speak to him. Sounds like ME2 all over again...
I think I will be disappointed when I finish ME3 because it will all be over until the first story related DLC is released. Of course then I'll get back to reality and do other things in life. So far I've enjoyed the game immensely - probably more so than ME which I preferred over ME2. I can't even believe I'm saying any of this...

Just wait until you finish the game, and then come back and tell us about it. You'll be ready to denounce any further DLC that comes out.

LOL. Just ignore that guy - he's been going around and white knighting for BW and ME3's ending for most of the day now.

No, no you are not. It was too similar.
