anyone got a few essential tips for my first playthrough, any important things i could miss?
I'm going to be an elf mage with arcane warrior and blood magic specialisation
buying this tomorrow. cant wait!!

Take your time. So much is missed if you dont read and listen. And dont just ingnore npcs cause thou dont have "floaty quest sysmbols" over the heads...youll be surprised what youll learn by talking to the "beggar".

aye... people that just talk will sometimes update your codex even if you are not into that you do get xp when you complete a section of it. Additionaly, the information they give you can help you latter with deciding the response you want to use when talking to a querst npc. On top of that some chats are just a riot to listen too. They also add so much to the flavor of the game which is what makes bioware games fun. Oh just listening to two npcs chatting can be interesting as well.

Not sure what you're planning or what hardware you own, but do your self a favour and get the PC version.
