This is epic, it game me chills the more I read it. Even better as the fourth option is not a dialogue choice, but done by sitting there doing an actual "I cant chose". This is a "fix" I can get behind.

heh. this might actually work and resolve the WTF spacekid problem... too bad it wasn't Bioware that came up with this idea in the first place....

I was also expecting to find out that the Crucible was a trap created by and passed down by the Reapers and that upon discovering this, the armada would have no choice but to duke it out with the Reapers; but, I think the main point that this game tries to drive home is that Reapers can not be defeated by conventional means. Even with the biggest fleet ever assembled , the armada doesnt stand a chance in a direct attack; their only hope is to buy the crucible enough time to fire.

I agree, this a great fourt option that should have been offered.

Being unable to win was what everyone feared, but then again the entire galaxy uniting as one to face the Reapers has never, ever happened before.

And it's not like the entire series isn't built on overcoming impossible odds, remember; They Said It Was A Suicide Mission...

I would've been able to handle all the other crap if this was an option. This was the ending we all wanted, the one we still want. If we made good choices in ME1 and ME2, got nearly all or all of the War Assets, we should've fought the reapers as described here. Not be forced to subject ourselves to the star child and the reapers.

You know as one of the people who somewhat enjoyed the endings, I believe this is vastly superior ending and makes much more logical sense. That being said. I've come to the conclusion that making up my own ending is the only way to fulfill the joy that Mass Effect has given me.

I don't want to add to this or mess it up, but I always imagined (at least in my ending since I just make up one) that Harbinger was the FIRST Reaper and since Reapers (or at least the starship sized ones) keep the image of the species they harvest inside them (or at least that's the idea), maybe a proper final boss would be what ever is inside Harbinger, only smaller or something a long those lines.

This would have been epic.

it is certainly far more emotionally charged and story fulfilling than what we got.

it also makes a lot more sense.

Shepard seeing through the Reaper's lies is great.Victory through an epic ground and space battle would suffice. The ground battle could be like the "Battle for Earth" trailer and all I want is an extention to the big space battle.

I also think that whether or not Shepard lives or dies is dependent on how many war assets you have acquired and what choices you made throughout the trilogy. Also, Shepard could reunite with the crew down on Earth and then have a happy ending. A renegade playthrough with low assets etc could see the fleet struggle and Shepard use the crucible to sacrifice himself or something...

That sir, was an excellent ending! I too would wish to see this made into the actual ending, seeing this play out in the glory of graphics and cut scenes would be epic!!

Great idea, for me if Shepard telling the star child to **** off and watching an epic scene like on Tuchunka would have been good enough.

Epic music, epic fight scene and Wrex standing on a reaper...

This is truly epic. This is how it should have gone down. I respectfully request that Bioware at least takes a glance at this, and see some of the positive feedback incorporated into the ending this person has written.

This would be a good end. Maybe not what all would have liked, but still, it's better than that inconceivable stuff EA calls an ending.
Show us that our choices actually matters, that what we have done in the numerous hours we've invested into this game, means something.

Thank you, OP, for this ending. Hopefully, Bioware will do something along those lines. Or something else, for that matter, as long as it shows us that our choices matters.

This ending is epic, sadly the cost to make it would throw it off the table as it always comes to revenue, unless they sell it, bleh who i am kidding, the worse part is that they will end up selling something that will disappoint us again.
