This doesn't really fit with the theme of "clarification" Bioware wants for the DLC, which is such a shame. I think this ending is the perfect compromise of their original artistic vision, and an actual satisfying conclusion. I know they said they're not adding any ending choices, but this would be a fantastic (If pricey) way to go with the DLC. We should all be keeping this thread on page one so someone from Bioware sees. Maybe they'll have a change of heart.

And THAT'S what Shepard would have done! He/She would have called "B.S." and found another way. Period! Has this fellow sent this into Bioware? If they can use the ideas of a 7th grader in the game...I don't see why they can't add a lil bit of this as well.

Exactly. I've read in another thread that the devs don't want to change the ending because that would be unfair towards the people who actually liked the ending, but that should be no problem with this solution since it only adds another option for those who didn't like the ending. The original ending would still be there, the player simply has more freedom - and that's always a good thing.sirisaacx wrote...

I wish BW would use this ending, not only does it utilize what we already have, but it fleshes out the Child character much more and gives a legit reason for him to be there out of the blue. This ending also fits with the major themes that have been present throughout all 3 games, and preserves Shepard's character instead of tossing it out the window for the last 20 minutes for no reason whatsoever. And for this ending we actually have what feels like actual choices that matter and not just ones that are handed to us with little or no differences between them.
This ending also puts in the game the races that we don't see in the game's current current state, especially the Rachni which has been mentioned so heavily throughout all 3 games as well.

I like it. But I'd still prefer to do away with the whole 'Reapers-as-well-intentioned-extremists' idea altogether. It doesn't jive with the way they're presented for the rest of the series.

That is the way the Reapers see themselves, albeit in a darker sense of the phrase you used. The Charnel Expanse wrote...

The biggest irony is that the Reapers just advanced machines who's sole purpose is to wipe out organics that have evolved enough to make machines that are intelligent. That's why I love the irony that the Geth are fighting the Reapers along side organics instead of against them!

Signed. This addition, the option to say "no way", is what we really need.
Excellent story! Thank you for posting it.
