 Is it just me, or does the Catalyst actually have 3 voices? Is that you, male Shepard and female Shepard?

Listen carefully and you'll hear 3 very distinct voices when the Catalyst speaks. Strange you say? It's getting even stranger...

Listen REALLY carefully and you'll hear that the 3 voices are a kids voice, femShep's voice and maleShep's voice.


1) The first voice you'll hear is the kid's voice. His voice is the loudest and panned in the middle.

2) The second voice is femShep's voice. Her voice is panned to the left. If you carry a headphone, you'll hear her only in the left speaker of your phone.

3) The last voice is maleShep's voice. His voice is rather hard to hear because he's almost whispering, but it's clearly manShep's voice. If you carry a headphone, you can hear that his voice is panned to the right speaker.



Did you hear it too? What does this mean? Does it mean anything at all?

Probably nothing, but it does offer some small support for the indoctrination theory.

I hear Jennifer Hale in the left side to be sure. I can't quite make out Mark in the right though. I hear someone. But I could be having trouble since it's also a Male Shepard in this ending.

So, what does this mean? Do you think this means anything? Does this support the "this is just an indoctrinating dream" theory? Does this whole sequence really just play in Shepard's own mind?

Turn off your left speaker and only listen to the right speaker, then you'll hear it pretty clearly. It really is Mark's voice. It's exactly the same voice as manShep's voice in this scene.

Yeah, it's them.

Then again the Catalyst takes the form of that stupid kid back on Earth, so I guess it has the ability to mess up with Shep's mind. Including taking the voice of his/her alternate self.

BTW, the scene is atrocious, but the music and visuals are incredible...

Hopefully we're right and theres more to this than what we've seen in the ending scenes and that MORE truly is on the way.
Although...it could just be they paid Jennifer and Mark to add their voices in just for a "cool effect".
But I like the communities thoughts more. =D

It is! I remember playing this and thinking "well, this is weird, hearing several voices at once, but it probably is supposed to indicate the genderless nature of the Catalyst"

I don't know if it means anything... Could be it just means the personification of the Catalyst comes from Shepard's consious, but then why would Sheploo's nightmare kid have fem!Shep's voice... Possible alternative universe angle?

I don't know, but I am intriqued!

I'm also part of that group, but I missed the mention of this in the spoiler group... I actually heard this myself when I was replaying the ending of ME3 yesterday.
