That would be better than what we got now but even if it's the case the way the way they went about this is unacceptable. And what about the people who have no/limited internet access? Not a issue for me but still.
I understand completely. This doesn't apply here either, but there are definitely people with bandwidth caps or no internet access that might want a real ending. Unfortunately, that group is small enough and (for obvious reasons) not very vocal. With how the gaming market is going these days, publishers don't really see the benefit of longer development cycles over the gain from releasing unfinished and/or buggy games and patching them later.
I don't support this, but it's kind of a fact of life these days, just like the widespread "online pass" movement on consoles. But patch or no patch, this is the only way I can wrap my mind around the endings without getting overly angry. I'll stick to it until the devs say otherwise.
