I don't think this is proof of anything with some "indoctrination" other than that Bioware thought it would be cool to have the two voice actors do the voice. I mean why would you hear Femshep's voice if you're male Shep when Femshep doesn't exist in your game?

That's true, but then there's the opposite side of the theory: if you're playing femshep, why would you still be able to hear your voice? Why not just Male Shep's, considering he doesn't exsist?

OP, nice repost of my 12 hour old comment in the hallucination thread and the starchild reaction thread. Of course, it could be a coinsidence that we both discovered it today. I have to say you flagged it better though :)

Like I said there, you can more easily hear Mark Meer's voice at 1min 30secs into this youtube video.

Is it just me, or does the Catalyst actually have 3 voices? Is that you, male Shepard and female Shepard?

Check this footage: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=4gssML_aVmk

Listen carefully and you'll hear 3 very distinct voices when the Catalyst speaks. Strange you say? It's getting even stranger...

Listen REALLY carefully and you'll hear that the 3 voices are a kids voice, femShep's voice and maleShep's voice.

1) The first voice you'll hear is the kid's voice. His voice is the loudest and panned in the middle.

2) The second voice is femShep's voice. Her voice is panned to the left. If you carry a headphone, you'll hear her only in the left speaker of your phone.

3) The last voice is maleShep's voice. His voice is rather hard to hear because he's almost whispering, but it's clearly manShep's voice. If you carry a headphone, you can hear that his voice is panned to the right speaker.

Did you hear it too? What does this mean? Does it mean anything at all?

I want to know if the kid is related to the BW staff. I'm afraid that on top of everything going on that they picked a kid benefited from nepotism...

Here, listen to this clip with no background music/audio.  I think it really is apart of Shepard's imagination and indoctrination.  FemShep/MaleShep/Child's voice.

What's even more ironic is this sound byte lol.  "You have choice...more than you know".  That's sending a pretty interesting message...

Now I'm probably looking way too deep into this...but want to know what makes this sound byte different?  From what I can tell, it's the only Catalyst clip that ends with MaleShep's voice.  All the others will end in either FemShep or the child.

BioWare is just sitting next to us, winking and elbow nudging us right now as we unearth more and more subtle details lol.

You're looking to deep into this. The 3 voices are recorded by 3 voice-actors, probably all on a seperate day. So sometimes the timing and delivery can be a bit different between the 3 voices. That's all there is to it.

Well yeah, why are you hearing both voices? You can argue that either one seems weird, but you hear both. I just find that strange. Even if this is all leading to "It was all a dream!" as the ending, they went about it terribly.

Wow. Great find.
Even though I don't like the Catalyst scene, the music and visuals in the background are great.

The music and visuals in this ending are better:

I heard the additional voices the first time through, but I didn't realize it was Hale and Meer. Good catch.

That would be better than what we got now but even if it's the case the way the way they went about this is unacceptable.  And what about the people who have no/limited internet access?  Not a issue for me but still.

I understand completely.  This doesn't apply here either, but there are definitely people with bandwidth caps or no internet access that might want a real ending.  Unfortunately, that group is small enough and (for obvious reasons) not very vocal.  With how the gaming market is going these days, publishers don't really see the benefit of longer development cycles over the gain from releasing unfinished and/or buggy games and patching them later.

I don't support this, but it's kind of a fact of life these days, just like the widespread "online pass" movement on consoles.  But patch or no patch, this is the only way I can wrap my mind around the endings without getting overly angry.  I'll stick to it until the devs say otherwise.

Hale is definitely on the Left and Meer is on the Right but with more of a gruff voice. Hale is claer but Meer is harder to tell but OP is right good catch.

Heck, I hope this is what they're saying and not laughing as they count our . . . their money.

Still, nice find and very interesting. Indoctrination is the only thing that makes that crap ending make sense, but it also means we haven't had our ending yet and therefore . . . again, I hope this is what the Bioware suits are saying.

Agreed that this is far fetched. But recordings can be streched, placed in the right place, at the right time by the sound engineers. So if they wanted to let a particular voice to end the scene, it's a piece of cake, even if it had 20 voices. But your right it's highly unlikely that this has any relevance. Too much of a detail, it's a good example of the confirmation bias

I'm interested in where this sound clip came from, since the only in game line spoken by the Catalyst which resembles this is "you have hope, more than you think".
