Good question^^^  I actually havn't seen anything that would make me think there was any kind of reward, other than your LI not having to worry about what you did in the past LOL :)  I have never cheated on an LI tho, so I don't know if there is a difference other than a very small difference in the dialog.  Anyone know if there is a reward/achieve?

The Prima guide says that, for the VS at least, they'll act somewhat bitter and angry towards you prior to the "Should we get back together?" scene. I wouldn't know, though, but most of what I experienced even before said conversation was really sweet and romantic and I didn't cheat.

^ In no way am I saying your wrong at all... but whats wierd now that you said that is even tho I am as loyal as a dog :)  and never cheated, even up until the "should we get back together" convo...they were bitter as well ( i mean they weren't calling me a cheater, cause I didnt) but they were always skeptical until your horizon talk, and then after that it was amazing :D  Just thought I would bring that up, just seems strange that there is no consequences.

Really? You were called a cheater even though you didn't?   Weird. For my FemShep/Kaidan romance, there was some skepticism on Kaidan's part about Shep's affiliation with Cerberus, but that ended with the last conversation with him on Mars (Kaidan says something like, "I just want to know if the woman I love is still in there somewhere," to which my Shep grinned, gave him a soft punch in the arm, and replied, "She never left."). After that scene, I got no bitterness, resentment, accusations, or anything of the sort. Who did you romance?

Thanks, guys! I just wanted to see because I had a feeling that there would be no difference so I romanced other characters in all of my ME2 playthroughs to see how it would continue on to ME3.

*Spoiler Alert*

I believe it's much easier to make the persuade during the face-off at the end of the Cerberus coup if you stayed loyal. So if you don't have a high "reputation" bar at that point, staying loyal might mean you don't have to kill your LI. That's a pretty big bonus.

Edited to add:  In my case, I was loyal and Kaidan didn't even force me to make a persuade check.  But apparently that can be required if other factors are against you and they have more reason to be distrustful.

Let me bring the character, Kaidan into light, when it comes to "reward"

I felt seriously PISSED OFF the first half of the game. My "reward" was constantly being ****ed at with "I don't trust you since you were in Cerberus." or "I can't trust you since you were in Cerberus." Sure, I finally got the "reward" for the romance scene (God, put me in Shep's place for a night with Kaidan) and our date on the Citadel, but damn. That was my reward? **** please. Garrus at least stood by me from start to finish.

lol I was really mad at him too, especially walking up to the mars facility. I tried to punch him a few times. Dang I wished I could turn on friendly fire for just a moment, I wanted to slap him so hard! And I would have totally loved a 'what the hell?' retort before getting into a big fight about it. I just wrote an arguement scene because I totally needed to clear the air with the whole Horizon mess!

So here's a reward (from me to you) for staying loyal to your VS. Now maybe because I read too many romances, lol, but the reconciliation they had for Kaidan and Ash if they were your love interest just felt lack luster to me and didn’t help me move past the whole Horizon incident. Because yes, even after all this time I’m still ticked at Kaidan, lol. Not because he didn’t come with me, because my femshep loves him for the man that he is - a man that does what he believes in and she can’t fault him for that. But she’s totally ticked because he didn’t believe in HER. Kaidan does apologize a bit for it, so that helps a little but I really wanted a dynamic confrontation (with both VS since my hubby has Ash) so that I could put the whole Horizon thing behind us. What would have been perfect - a spat about it right before you go into the room with the prothean data. Where you both yell a bit at each other and Liara has to break you up. Really, earth has just been hit and you’re both forced to leave the battle behind. Adrenaline’s running high, everyone is frustrated, a short shouting match would do so much to clear the air and give a human response to our characters. That way when your VS gets nearly killed by Eva, you feel extra awful and then far more relieved when they are fine. We would have gotten our conflict, air clearing, and a chance to make that calm heart-to-heart on the hospital bed feel more sincere. As it was, it felt like they were trying to ignore it. Not a flaw in the game really, just a small something that really would have given horizon the closure I needed without interfering with what they’ve already got in the game. Note that this conversation would only happen if you had a romance with them in ME1.

Kaidan and Femshep’s argument:

Kaidan: I can’t believe Cereberus would turn all their soldiers into husks. What are they thinking?

Shepard: The Illusive Man will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Remember those experiments he was running with the thorian creepers. It’s the same thing, only now he’s using reaper tech.

Kaidan:
Yeah, I guess so. Makes me worry what he did to you exactly…

Shepard: Is that all you can see in me now? After everything I’ve done?! Everyone Kaidan, EVERYONE else believed in me.

Kaidan: I do believe in you, Shep-

Shepard: No, you didn’t-

Kaidan: Now wait a minute-

Shepard: -when I needed you Kaidan! While you were investigating my rumors, I was living it! I woke up on a surgery table in the middle of a mech battle! With only strangers to tell me what was going on! The first chance I got I headed straight for the Citadel to find YOU! Because I NEEDED you!

Kaidan: I tried to get Anderson to talk to me Shepard. He stonewalled me about-

Shepard: Then what about Horizon, Kaidan? What then? Why-

Kaidan: Hey! How was I supposed to know if that was really you in there?! You talk about how I should know you better, but I think maybe you should think about how you should know ME better? Just because I’m careful I-

Liara: Will you two just stop it! I know you’re both hurt and angry, and not just about this. Earth has just been invaded, and you’re worried about the war front. So let’s focus on getting this data. Shepard, you said it yourself, we need to focus on finding a way to stop the Reapers.

Shepard: Liara’s right. We should go.

Also Male Shep says a line to Ashley when she gets hurt, but femshep says nothing to Kaidan. So not cool, BW. So my femshep says when she’s picking up Kaidan. “Hang on, Kaidan. Don’t you dare leave me now.”

Ashley and Male Shep’s argument:

Ashley: I can’t believe Cereberus would turn its own guys into husks? It’s just… wrong.

Shepard: The Illusive Man will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Remember those experiments he was running with the thorian creepers. It’s the same thing, only now he’s using something worse.

Ashley: Because he couldn’t just stop at infecting humans with alien matter? I worry about what he’s done to you.

Shepard:
Is that all you can see in me now? After everything I’ve done? Don’t you trust me, Ash?

Ashley: I do Shepard, it’s just-

Shepard: Just what? You said you believed in me after Horizon, yet every time I turn around it feels like you still don’t trust me.

Ashley: Hey, I’m not the one who joined Cerberus.

Shepard: That’s why I needed you, Ash. While you were investigating my rumors, I was living it. I woke up on a surgery table in the middle of a mech battle. I had no idea what the hell happened. The second I got the chance I headed straight for the Citadel to find you. I had to make sure you were okay.

Ashley:
Anderson didn’t tell me. I heard the rumors and I hoped but,

Shepard: So you hoped I was alive but you didn’t want it to be true? You-

Ashley: I wanted to see you alive, but when I finally did you were with Cerebus! You were dead, Shepard! I mourned you and seeing you again made me think about how it was possible. But what they did to you couldn’t be natural and for all I knew it might not have even been you! Besides-

Not sure if I pegged Ashley as well as Kaidan. Anyway, hope you enjoyed and got a little more reconciliation with your Virmire Survivor ;)

I respect the fact that Ashley and Kaidan are *still* the only ones to call Shepard out for going along with Cerberus (sorry Cerberus fans, but if you're upset that you can't continue your association with TIM, I'm still upset that I was railroaded into working with him in the first place in ME2), but my two issues would be: let Ashley and Kaidan have different reactions to Shepard, especially on Mars, since they're different people, and two, more dialogue when they finally get back on the ship would have been great...Ashley apparently gets two more scenes than Kaidan, one at the Memorial Wall on the Citadel, and the hangover scene...and I don't think FemShep even gets the Memorial Wall scene.  Come on, Bioware.  They both should have had friendship scenes, and an equal number.

But I can't complain.  My favorites get more attention than the ME2 LIs overall, and since I was asking for equality in the bad old ME2 days when the VS was persona non grata, I'm not going to take the "eff you, I got mine" attitude about it.

Wait, what? I only got part of that argument and certainly not the bit where Liara jumped in. And considering how early in the game it happens, and my initial load screen stated I'd romanced Kaidan in the first one and NOONE in the second...

Bollocks!

Edit: Nvrmnd, ROFL! Sorry, I just realized those convo's were extrapolation. Nice job, btw!!

FemShep does get the memorial wall scene actually. She doesn't get any conversations with Ashley on the Normandy as far as I can tell, however.

So FemShep gets that, but not the hangover scene?  I must have gotten it backwards.

I need to do a run with Ashley.  But knowing that I can't even be as good a friend with her as Liara is will be disappointing, not to mention the lack of romance...:crying:

Given that Liara was cool with me flirting with Kaiden in the first game, it makes sense that she wouldn't be worried about any flings I had.

Wait femshep gets a scene with Kaidan at the memorial wall too? Or are we talking about if femshep saved Ash? Because I didn't get a memorial wall scene with Kaidan.

This is only with Ashley.  My point was just that there was extra content for Ashley, but part of it is only for Male Shepard, even though it could be friendship dialogue...it would just be nice to have that for FemShep too, and more friendship content if you saved Kaidan and aren't romancing him.

I am just highly in favor of more friendship scenes for all characters.

Not word for word here but in the hospital...

Ash: What about us, where do we stand, Shepard?
Shep: I'd like to work this out.
Ash: Oh yeah, cause I heard you worked it out with a lot of people (I did.)
Shep: You know what, you dumped me. You. Dumped. Me. You know what, nevermind,

Ah okay. But yeah, I agree with you there. It seemed you got a lot of friendship conversations with Liara, but not really with anyone else. In fact, it almost felt like I got more conversations with her than with Kaidan and I was romancing him! Maybe it's just because you have Liara through the whole game and Kaidan gets pummeled by the sexbot  *sigh*
