Was there really a reward for you not cheating on your ME1 LI?

Let me bring the character, Kaidan into light, when it comes to "reward"

I felt seriously PISSED OFF the first half of the game. My "reward" was constantly being ****ed at with "I don't trust you since you were in Cerberus." or "I can't trust you since you were in Cerberus." Sure, I finally got the "reward" for the romance scene (God, put me in Shep's place for a night with Kaidan) and our date on the Citadel, but damn. That was my reward? **** please. Garrus at least stood by me from start to finish.

I respect the fact that Ashley and Kaidan are *still* the only ones to call Shepard out for going along with Cerberus (sorry Cerberus fans, but if you're upset that you can't continue your association with TIM, I'm still upset that I was railroaded into working with him in the first place in ME2), but my two issues would be: let Ashley and Kaidan have different reactions to Shepard, especially on Mars, since they're different people, and two, more dialogue when they finally get back on the ship would have been great...Ashley apparently gets two more scenes than Kaidan, one at the Memorial Wall on the Citadel, and the hangover scene...and I don't think FemShep even gets the Memorial Wall scene.  Come on, Bioware.  They both should have had friendship scenes, and an equal number.

But I can't complain.  My favorites get more attention than the ME2 LIs overall, and since I was asking for equality in the bad old ME2 days when the VS was persona non grata, I'm not going to take the "eff you, I got mine" attitude about it.

This. On so many levels. I agree.

I've only done Kaidan's so far (never romanced Ash, and I'm not that far on my Liara playthrough yet) but I thought it was really satisfying, and I kind of felt like you did get a reward for being faithful in that they do apologize (pretty profusely in Kaidan's case I felt) and you get that awesome moment in the Cerberus base when Shep has the brief existential crisis over the Lazarus project data where Kaidan says that "You're real enough for me". Not much to some people, maybe - but I really felt that after Horizon and Mars, that one little phrase was like the most validating thing ever for my Shep. *Shrugs.*

*Spoiler Alert*

I believe it's much easier to make the persuade during the face-off at the end of the Cerberus coup if you stayed loyal. So if you don't have a high "reputation" bar at that point, staying loyal might mean you don't have to kill your LI. That's a pretty big bonus.

Edited to add:  In my case, I was loyal and Kaidan didn't even force me to make a persuade check.  But apparently that can be required if other factors are against you and they have more reason to be distrustful.

I am not a big fan of Ash.  Especially after Horizon.  She better kiss Shep's ass if she wants back on the ship after the coup attempt, if I don't let her die.

I will say this.  I stayed faithful to Liara and I have done the LotSB DLC.  There were little difference in the cabin scene before going after Cerberus at the end game if you did the DLC or not do the DLC.  I only cheated on Ash or Kaidan.  That is what they get for calling their lover a traitor on Horizon.

I do wonder what will happen with the Shep I have with Ash that went with Jack.  Hmm.

So FemShep gets that, but not the hangover scene?  I must have gotten it backwards.

My FemShep got the hangover scene with Ashley. Not sure whether this is the case with a MaleShep who romanced her, but in my Shep's case, Ash was laid out on the floor at the time.
