[Estoppel]

As I know, if I let kitty possess the girl, I can get Wilhelm's magnus Staff which look quite good,

and if not, I can get a somewhat useful helm and belt by slaying kitty..

Is there any way to get them all?

yes, first you release the kitty by doing the puzzle and then you kill her.

Thank you. I solved the puzzle and she possessed the girl and went away. What's wrong? Will I be given another chance to slay her?

hmm, dunno. i solved the puzzle and then when i told the kitty i was going to kill her the girl ran away. maybe it has a coercion check or something.

Did you get not only the helm and belt but also the staff even if you told her so? Strange... When I did so, the girl ran away and fight began. Of course the staff isn't in her corpse...

after the puzzle it depends on how you do the chatt you have to work it so she scares the girl who then runs away then you kill her. i am sorry i forget the sequence of the chatt to tell you which response to give

When I finished the puzzle, I have 3 selections. 1. Don't forget our deal. 2.And? Where will you go after this? 3. Keep your hands off the girl, Demon!...

All lead the same dialog. 1. Fine. Take her. What do I care? (she just goes away) 2. Only if you make worth my while.(I get the staff, but she goes away) 3. No! I won't allow it!(the girl run away and should fight kitty.)..

There was a (persuade (lie)) check that says you agree to her deal. Then, after the puzzle, you get the "I said I'd free you. I never said I'd let you live." option, which will make her scare the girl off.



I don't remember ever getting a staff this way, though.

As far as I know you can't get both. You need to make a deal with her (and thus become unable to kill her) to get the staff, and you need to kill her to get the helm.

If that staff has a unique name and powers, not just a "magic staff", I think I can say no - you don't get it. My Mage at that time STILL used the staff she stole in the basement of the Circle Tower, so I think I would've remembered. :innocent:

Aha. When I selected it, kitty knew it was a lie. If it is possible for me to get all, maybe persuasion skill made the difference.....

I just happened to have a save at that point.



Option 1: Refuse to help Kitty and kill her without doing puzzle

- No approval/disapproval points

- Get Cord of Shattered Dreams & Helm of Honnleath off Kitty's corpse.

- No Wilhelm's Magus Staff.

- Lowest XP gain.



Option 2: help Kitty & let her possess Amalia & Leave

- Alistair = -10 disapprove

- Leliana = -15 disapprove

- Morrigan = +7 approve

- XP gain = middle gain

- No cord, no Helm and no Staff



Option 3: help/lie Kitty & ask for reward => let her possess Amalia & Leave

- Same approval/disapproval points and XP gain as Option 2.

- Get Staff (Tier2, +3Will, +25% Fire resist, +10% fire dam, +10% elect dam)



Option 4: help/lie Kitty & refuse to let her possess ==> Kill Kitty

- Alistair = +2 approve

- Leliana = +7 approve

- Morrigan = -3 disapprove

- XP gain = highest gain

- Get Cord of Shattered Dreams & Helm of Honnleath off Kitty's corpse.

- No Wilhelm's Magus Staff.



Option 5: Agree to help Kitty but run out room to tell Matthias ==> Matthias got possessed.

- I didnt try this option. Not sure about approval points and XP (XP cannot be measured here due to 2 encounters on way back to Matthias and i don't think puzzle XP is gained here)

- Definitely no Staff.

- Let demon go ==> No Helm and No Cord.

- Refuse ==> Kill Kitty and may drop Helm and Cord off her corpse.
