So, all over the interwebz, ive seen non-stop moaning about these endings, and even organized groups to protest it.

I mean, jeez, what in the world....

So please, tell me. Is it REALLY that bad, and if you can without spoilers, what about it is so awful? Are knots not tied up? Does it leave too much to the imagination? Is the final level just really stupid?

Please,  I must know.

Final mission is fine, no closure, confusing final 15 seconds, leaves knots not tied up.

I didn't really get angry over it was more like a "Whuuuuu" reaction but its a video game the point is to have fun I had fun playing it so oh well life goes on.

Yes, the ending sucks. Not much more to say.

Yes, most definitely it is. I'm not even joking when I say stop playing before you do the last mission. It may literally ruin the game for you.

But the silver lining is that it will make any other problems you had with the game seem trivial.

Most people are mad that there is no "happy" ending. Each option involves major losses.

I personally am not a fan of them, but i'm not really that mad about it. It could have been better, but it could have been worse.

I have to say that at the end I couldn't really get myself to play any of the ME's again and it may be some time before I play a dif game after the disappointment of the ending making me fearful I might get disappointed again. It's something you invest time into so you want it to turn out well, like a friendship or a relationship, you put time in and then it screws you over in the end.

The thing is, it's not the game is fine until the ending, it is that the game is mostly fine until the final mission, but then you realize that nothing you did, regardless of assets or what not actually effects anything, granted you learn that pretty mid-point on when you see where you are and where Earth is and you start losing bad.

The finale up until the last five minutes is great, it's just... it doesn't end well.

Yes it is that bad when you have the IQ of an oyster, either way you should appreciate the ending.

I don't know how many times it has been stated its not happy endings just endings that don't have so many plotholes

The reality: There are a couple of plotholes which have the hardcore a bit riled up (I didn't really mind or notice), and people are annoyed that you don't get a choice to prevent a grim, sad, depressing ending.

Those are the main reasons why people are raging against the ending.

Think of it as you went to see a movie like the Artist or the English Patient and at the end of the movie at the last 20 minutes it becomes a micheal bay movie with guns and everything blowing up plus the movie decided to add new math into the equation where your like what the heck- what just happen. It's like that. You expect one thing and then at the end the game change into an area that ...I can't even explain it... I was depressed and confused

I liked everything until the part with a ship and a planet.

Approximately 2% of the population that plays ME3 likes, or are satisfied with, the endings.  So I'm sure someone will come along and pipe up their support.

People need to realize that if you want to really see what's wrong with the game you have to look past just the ending, it's not the ending only, if you only had that fixed you'd just screw up the continuity and the game more.

The fact the assets you spent the entire game building don't actually end up doing anything for anyone at any point except potentially the Turians but not really in the end... is what screws up the game. Had those assets been taken into account, you'd probably have very different endings but as it stands, you lose anyway.

"Space-magic"  And way to go out there with the ad-homs, there's nothing to appriciate.  A door closing at the end of the hallway gives more closure then ending did.  I use the singular there, there is only one ending no matter what you do.

Yes, it was completely inappropriate for the series and ruins (imo) any desire to ever play any of the games again, even ME1 and god damn it I loved that one the most.

I loved the ending. It was amazing and emotional. Exactly what an ending should be to stick in the mind, IMO.

Every thing about the game (disregarding the picture of Tali's face and the side quests) is pure gold, GOTY material, best in the series.

But a tip? When Shepard starts going up the lift at the end, shut off your Xbox as fast as you can and watch this video:

WARNING SPOILERS, RIGHT CLICK AND BOOKMARK FOR LATER.

Just a fan edit that's a million times better.

Wow. I've recently spent a lot of time lurking these forums yet I completely forgot that. Guess my headcanon got in the way :)

There isn't much to be worried about until the last scene where you must make your final decision. No matter what you do, you're getting a similar ending that aims to be hopeful, but ends up being ambiguous and paints a very bleak and short future for certain people and races without proper exposition.
