The game itself might be fantastic, but Mass Effect is sold just as much for its story as it is its gameplay. By committing narritive murder, it's no small wonder the player reviews are brutal.

Let's push for one star.
But yes, everything but the ending was good. Except Tali's face.
Ouch... I don't agree with that... I think 3 stars is low enough

Price drop? I still see it being listed as $59.95 for all standard editions except for the PS3 edition which I see listed at $52.00. Or are you talking about the used and new section?
Amazon is selling it for 59.95, but there's lots of other merchants selling through amazon for 40+ for a sealed new copy.

That's crap. you should all feel terrible.
Why should we feel terrible? I am one of the few that payed $80 goddamn dollars for this game. The endings alone made me wish I had waited and paid only $40 for it. Stop trying to make people feel bad because BW made a bad decision to go with the Deus Ex endings.
So your first thought was to **** on everything Bioware did? They put their heart and soul into this game, you may not have liked the endings but the game does not deserve this. You people are acting like such children.

Must begin planning.
The ending of any work is the last impression an author can leave their audience with. I won't say the game deserved bad reviews, but BW left people with a bad taste with that ending. They kind of asked for it by making the last part of the game. . .

ME 3 is a good (not great) journey with one hell of a failure of an ending. And that's the taste it leaves you with.
Guess whose fault that is. Not ours.

Geez, even though i hate the ending,
the game still deserves a higher score than that! C'mon guys, this is
going too far..
Don't expect people to be fair when giving ratings on sites like metacritic and amazon, basicly the only ratings you see anymore are either 8-10 or 0-3. Obviously this is just my observation.

Wow. This is actually starting to work, isn't it? I mean, I love 95% of the game, and it deserves more than 2.5, but we're getting heard, I think.
What's working? Ensuring Bioware will never get the funding to start a new project again? You guys are being so stupid and counter productive....
EA funds bioware now and will keep funding them since bioware sells no matter what... if DA 2 didnt stop EA funding nothing will

Feel terrible for what? I didn't ask not to like the ending. I bought two frakkin copies of the game at $60 and the DLC. This is an honest reaction to what Bioware put out. What do want us to do? Start lying?

I agree that Mass Effect 3 was awesome, but I do agree that the game's plot was runied. We can unite synthetics and organics, only to be told it is not possible?

Why are some of you blaming the consumer who is dissatisfied with a portion of service that is dissatisfactory? For the most part, all of us have been very objective about what we've said. Don't pin that on us.

The end crushed the game.
I agree with the ratings, in fact, I think they should be lower.
Here's why:
You spend 40+ hours working on the campaign. If you're a hardcore ME gamer, you've probably put in 200+ hours on all the games combined. You have a character who you have made your own, with your own choices, your own desires, and so on. Up until the end of ME3, you are able to continue to make your own choices. Unfortunately, the ending of ME3 shows that, no matter what choices you made, nothing changes. You still get the same 3 choices. If you didn't spend enough time gathering War Assets, you get 2 endings and Earth may die anyways. Other than that, nothing affects it.
So why does this justify a low rating? Because we all just spent anywhere from $60 to $80 on this game to play it for 40 hours and not be able to play it again. Almost every single post on this forum discusses how the poster has no desire to play anymore, since the choices don't matter. Look at some of the other $60 games out, like:
CoD: MW
Battlefield 3
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Those 3 games provide unlimited amounts of playtime. You spend $60 and you're pretty much set, you'll have entertainment for months, if not years. Mass Effect 3 not only ruins its own replayability, but also the replayability of ME1 and ME2, in addition to all of the DLCs.
So, in my opinion, the 2.5 rating is deserved.

Mass Effect 3 was an outstanding game until the last 20 minutes. As many have us said countless times. It is in no way OUR fault the game is taking this hit. We have tirelessly claimed the game is outstanding. The ending is terrible.
