IMO EA and Bioware get what they deserve. Whatever economic damage they take it likeley won't hurt them in the long run. The lost faith and respect of their fans is another question, it will take time to recover that. Hopefully they learn something out of this thogh i seriously doubt it.

But I can't bring myself to feel sorry for a company this large that loose a mariginal amount of profits by cheating me and others of what they promised they would deliver in this product I bought.

tl;dr: You promised me diverse endings where my decisions mattered - I got RGB so **** you, I hope this hurt your profits - bad.

EA closed at -0.78% today.

Whats the actual amount of money they have lost?

It's 6am lol haven't slept...bad english.

around 200 mil this week, around 42 milion today alone. EA is worth, or trades a total of 5.51 billion , so even a percent of that is alot of money.

That is entirely worth it, whoever picked this ending should really be feeling it now.

They need to suffer, its the only way they will learn.

Its not about torturing people, a large company is driven by profits and shareholders, the only way to make them listen to the market place is to make the bottom line suffer.

Anyone else see that one site that blamed the ratings drop on the gay romance scenes?

It happened with the ending controversey too, the Huffington used it to smear the gay part again, some people don't know when the horse is dead.

Real fans don't care about the gay romances.

In economics, it's called "dollar voting."  It's what capitalism is based on.

Well, if they're so sure about how ingenious their ending was as various comments from BW employees have suggested it seems the scores on various retail sites aren't agreeing with them, heh.

And people do pay attention to the ratings. Mass Effect fans who haven't caught up yet will sit there and wonder why the heck it's only 2 1/2 stars (2 stars for Digital Download) and people looking to get started in the series (like the kind BW seem to have been trying to appeal to in many of their preview interviews) are going to give it a wide birth.

Holy cow. ME3 was an awesome game! A few cutscenes at the end don't ruin it!

Argh...sometimes I want to kick people. All people. Everywhere. If only I had some kind of giant...vaguely arthropoidal machine with Big Frickin' Lasers attached to its head.

Must begin planning.

I want the ending changed, but I don’t want this (admittedly legitimate) outrage to drag the company down.

I dont have a link but thats been a big point with the more phobia people...

But a conversation on that topic with my online friends...

Not to spoil anything, buuuuut...

Romancing Garrus as FemShep was highly entertaining and worth it.

you gay, bruh. ;p

Wait, why is Shepard going to **** a dude?

They allowed same-sex relationships in ME3, to my knowledge.

The same sex thing caught me off guard. It's so casually like . . Forced upon you. I felt awkward and I am gay. Lmao

That's crap. you should all feel terrible.

I don't agree with rating bombing the game, I gave a rating of 6.0 due to the ending (my opinion) due to the horrific ending, so yeah, please don't ratings bomb!

Also - Eterna5, don't lump us all together, the more posts you read, the more you'll notice the wide variety of how people are expressing their frustrations.

"Rating bombing" is entirely justified. I've gone to a restaurant that had excellent food, the atmosphere was nice, but the service was *terrible*. What did I do? Give it a 1star out of 5, with the added comment that "While the food was great, I would not dine here again thanks to the horrendous service offered."

You don't say a car is "great" and give it a high customer approval rating if its tires are made of wood, regardless of how high-end the rest of the vehicle may be.

The consumers are disappointed in the product, and they have every right to rate it whatever they want to.

Not a very good or informative reviewer are you?

Why was the service bad?
What did they do?

You have to explain things in greater detail than than I didn't like the service. Also were they busy?

You are what we would call a down voter in 2006... You give ither a 1 or nothing at all.
Or an upvoter give a 10 and nothing els.

But you strike me as the first. If they do a good job (in your eyes) then you wont rate and if they dont then you give a 1 because of that one person on the staff.

It was just a poor excuse, many ME fans had no issue with it and even advocated it since ME1 when Bioware tried to pretend that the Asari/Femshep romance wasn't psuedo lesbian. Though the youtube viewers on the other hand... Oh mah gawd.... I thought we were past such blind hate in the US of A.

it doesn't matter if it was only one person on their staff. If the employer hired someone capable of doing so bad of a job, what else is going on behind-the-scenes that I may not like? If I don't like something about a service or a company, I take my business elsewhere. It's entirely in my right to give them the lowest score possible. That's how the system works: one outlier (such as myself in this case) will have next-to-no impact on the overall score/rating/whatever. However, if enough people like me are disappointed, they'll get a low score and potential future customers will be averted from their services, just like what's happening with ME3 right now.

The game deserves better, but between the ending, day 1 dlc, online pass, cryptic tweets about more dlc, etc. etc. I'm okay with it.

What's with the circlejerk over the perceived financial failure of ME3 here ?

I thought you wanted the endings fixed, not the ending of ME as a franchise ?

They already set fire to the ME franchise. Why would I want them to come out with more DLC and make it worse? If ME fails, then the only thing tarnishing the brand is the crappy ending. I won't have to suffer entire games of nonsensical blithering and have the franchise get any worse.
