I may not be a fan of the endings, but it makes me sad that amazon has dropped the price so much because of the backlash :(

On one hand I agree in a way that the market should determine the price of goods. If people are unsatisfied they have the right to voice their complaints.

On the other hand, a lot of love and care went into this game. Developers did work their asses off for this I'm sure they lost a lot of sleep over the time period especially when it came close to release. The game was well done for the first 99%. I dunno. It just makes me sad that this could affect a lot of people who may have had nothing to do with the endings themselves.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm amazed at how polarized consumers are when it comes to stuff like this. It would make an interesting term paper for some economics class.

I think it's great. Money is the only thing EA will respond to after all. The old Bioware nevermind they are dead.

While I myself haven't wrote a 0/10 review or bashed the game it's great that others are because like I said money is the only thing that well the publisher cares about.

It's too bad yes but they chose this career and we are simply paying for a product. People aren't happy and voicing their opinions if EA truly cared they would at least give Bioware some breathing room to answer questions. Just confirming or denying the "Truth" dlc would obviously make a lot of people happy.

I think some members in this movement have gone too far. You can't give this game horrible reviews and berate it, because then we'll all look like a bunch of hating trolls. Which, I think, the RetakeME3 movement isn't. If you truly have loved the past games and felt that the ending of the third wasn't justified, that's no reason to disrespectfully attack the game. The game was great, until the ending. After all, its not just the result of the game that matters, how you get there matters too.

I don't disagree with your perspective - but your forgetting that the power of the consumer comes into play with their money and their voice.  If they dislike the game, rate it down.  That's how the American consumer system works - and I agree with it.

I don't agree with going onto Amazon and trolling the ratings - but most people who rated it down did so while also reviewing it respectfully.  So I don't think it's a problem.  It's just a logical conclusion to this whole situation.

Admiral!  :)

Down to $40 from $59.99 on Amazon Canada.

An interesting tidbit I've noticed - not sure if it's just a coincidence or not, but the xbox players seem to be much more forgiving if the reviews are anything to go by. The PS3 people are somewhere in the middle, and the PC reviews are almost entirely bad.

Yes I found this very interesting too. Metacritic PC reviews are crushing compared to XBOX. I personally think it is due to the positive side spin. Paid shills are focusing on the platform that sells the bulk of the units, and once you post under XBOX you cannot double post under PC without getting caught.

I'm fine with the laws of supply & demand working and the price being driven down. While this may not help me get "fixed endings" I sincerely hope it will be an object lesson to the next company that overpromises and under delivers so that other consumers don't have to go through what "we're" going through.

YMMV.

Oh MY

as seen here the price dropped for the PS3 and Xbox360 versions here in Canada

and here too the price dropped on the PC version

I think retailers are starting to get scared. If Walmart or Gamestop lower their prices, it could be very bad

So be it. This will teach company the foundation of RPG game is still how to tell story not how fancy is the multiplayer map or how many way you can play with your friends. And, Bioware bring themselves into this situation not consumers. The people who are not happy about the ending just reflect the truth that Bioware mess up the whole good ideal of Mass Effects universe.

Geez, even though i hate the ending, the game still deserves a higher score than that! C'mon guys, this is going too far..

I agree.  On a scale from 1-10, I'd give it about a 8 or so in its current state. 7 seems a little too low considering the other 95% of the game.  I think the majority of them posted the rating right after beating the game.  The ending keeps it from being a 9 for me like the other two have been when I first played them.

I don't know how familiar you are with Amazon, but you always have to check who is selling the items. In your links, the games are not sold by Amazon.ca.

Amazon didn't drop the price that much, www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B004FYKWZU/ref=noref

If bioware commits to fixing the problem, it'll all go away. It's been weeks of stalling and non-committal. I don't feel the slightest bit of pity for bioware or EA. I will continue to encourage anyone that listens in any medium to not purchase anything from either company until they come up with an acceptable solution.

The free market requires actions like this for us to have any impact - if we don't affect their sales our movement is completely worthless and we're all wasting our time - if you're not prepared to get your hands dirty to do what needs to be done, I don't really care. I'll change my reviews and votes to be positive once I feel they should be positive, no sooner.

Funny how people are saying "you're going to far" or "that isn't fair"

There is NO reason to feel pity! NO reason to go easy on Bioware or rather EA since they are the ones eventually making the descicion wether we get a new ending or not.

THAT is consumer might. Asking politely to change the endings will lead nowhere. Let's be honest: Money rules the world and gaming industry as well. (Maybe even especially!)

We GOT to hurt EA/Bioware in the only place where it hurts them: Their wallet!

I'm going to write an Amazon review now for my Collectors Edition. It's not gonna be pretty!

They will learn to make games complete, and not just a 95% great and 5% crap ending.

Actually it does being the end of a Trilogy the ending and narrative are SUPER IMPORTANT. The game was botched so incredibly hard that it renders the rest of the series near unplayable.

That's crap. you should all feel terrible.

Why should we feel terrible? I am one of the few that payed $80 goddamn dollars for this game. The endings alone made me wish I had waited and paid only $40 for it. Stop trying to make people feel bad because BW made a bad decision to go with the Deus Ex endings.

I second this, if you enjoyed the endings, or enjoy the company like 99% of the retake community...learn to acknowledge a mistake and take the blame. Fix it up and get back up. What I mean is the Devs made a bad judgement call with the ending. No need for sunshine and rainbows just give us the CHOICE that we had in the first 98% of the series.

FFs you swear like one game's terrible reviews/ers is going to sink EAoware...you are apart of the group trying to scare or anger the disgruntled fans into doing something stupid and watching the movement collapse on itself. Luckily the few people that sink to you or any of your cronies' level aren't very articulate.

If new updates become available then I will gladly re-review the game and give it the score it earned, like I felt it did when I first reviewed it.

Mass Effect 3 is great, the entire game brings the story from the fist and second games to an epic conclusion. Then just screws over everything in the last ten minutes, how bad is that?

As for deserving a 1-star, this Amazon reviewer had a hilarious analogy:

"It may seem unfair to give a game this great one star, but the ending really is that bad. Imagine if you were writing a college paper on the civil war, and you were writing an excellent paper with multiple credible sources. Then all of a sudden on the last page, you start writing about how Thomas Jefferson rose from the grave and started raising an army of robot dinosaurs to help Robert E. Lee defeat the north. It dosen't matter how good your paper was up to that point, you would fail miserably and most likely be told to re submit your paper with a real ending. "
