I will only open this thread only because the other one has devolved into ridiculous back biting. I will point out that flaming the staff moderators or each other is against the forum rules, and I have no problem reporting you for being an ****. I have my opinion but I will not put in the first post, to remain unbiased.

In my opinion, no it does not deserve a price drop. But, if that is what takes to hear something from them, then yes I am fine with it.

Not sure I understand the question. The prices were dropped?

I believe if you are able to ****** off enough of the fanbase that THAT big of a problem comes too, then obviously you have done something wrong. People are voting with their wallets, minds and hearts. I think this is the true heart of capatilism, and while I feel it's a bit... Dirty. I don't believe that the people who did it were wrong.

(Obviously we do not count the minority of "has gayness LOL****GAME" Because we are bigger then that, and one day those people will die.)

It didn't drop. ONLY 3rd-party retailers price are dropping and that is normal. It has happened to Skyrim, CoD, every other game that existed. I saw Skyrim sold for $40 3 days after release.

I completely agree with the ratings drop and price drop. Not only did I spend $60 for a game that I can't play again, but this game has also ruined the ability for me to play two other games and all the DLC that goes with it.

In a way, It is a bit unfair in the same sense we got day 1 DLC that was already implemented in the game and a big Middle finger for an ending.

Absolutely fair.

The game is great until Bioware forced you to take the abortion pill.

There have been other games that are 'bad', especially in terms of gameplay, that didn't get the sort of down-grading and price drops that ME3 has seen. However, it is a free market and ultimately the consumer decides what something is worth to them, regardless of ethics.

Completely fair, the advertising for this game did it some to. Harcore fans where wanting a ending promised that their choices would affect it and every question would be answered. And the face import glitch.

Kinect purchasers where expecting more kinect functions.

People who bought it because the commercials looked cool, were expecting actual MP.

Then there is Origin and day one DLC(Like it or not).

It deserves it, because they somehow managed to ****** everyone off.

I have no problem with day 1 DLC - it lets developers not waste the final 2-4 weeks of development time waiting for certifications to come through.

I think it's a bit cold. Although, I suppose it could be justified due to lack of response from Bioware on the endings issue. I can see why people are lashing out like this. They feel the only way to provoke a response is by attacking them through money. Its what drives companies.

Fair since we are obviously going to have to pay for the DLC. No way in hell EA is going to let Bioware do something for free.

It depends highly on what Bioware is doing. They are some crafty ones they are. I would not be surprised if they had something up their sleeves. I mean...look at the hubub over the nets, has ANY video game in history drummed up this much press?

If this is indeed the ending, over...finito...fin...then yes i think its fair. I won't go over why because there 100 threads on it now, breach of contract, lies, etc etc

If they have something up their sleeves, its unfortunate that this is going on because it may hurt them, and i would hate to see their secret plan sprung on us, the ending we all wanted, the dramatic conclusion to the saga of our generation...only to be ignored due to haters...

i guess only time will tell

It makes perfect sense. People get angry about the ending, so they start returning the game/ebaying/telling their friends the ending sucks. Friends cancel plans to buy. Or worse, friends start buying used because there are now easily-obtainable used copies on the market.

Stores are left with big inventories that need to move, so they mark down the price.

It deserves it. For people who invested 5 years in the series and more, who purchased all the DLCs, the comics and the books, for everyone pissed about the ending which had no closure for them or their Shepards, this is well deserved.

Free Market goes both ways. Don't tell us "it's our product, we do with it what we want" then cry like a baby when you suffer the backlash from market forces.

Free Market is ruthless. Free Market is unkind. Most people don't like -real- free Market, where Consumers have equal power to Producers, they like Corporate-centric Free Market, where consumers are money filled Pinata's that can be whacked open over and over.

Don't like it? Get out of the free Market.

I dont think there is a link between the reception and the price drop.

It's standard procedure for every new release.

Ethics have nothing to do with this. This is the market at work.

If we are in a literal market and I see a nice looking brand of oranges and 90% of people who have eaten the oranges tell me that it tastes good but leaves a very bad taste in your mouth I'm less likely to buy the orange. So the guy who sells the oranges can lower the price in hopes of selling more of his product.

Definitely fair.

Casey Hudson interview and the general structure of the rest of the triology misrepresents the ending, which was a factor in purchases that can't be refunded.

This reaction couldn't get any fairer.

They wouldn't have given us such a stratified ending in Mass Effect 2 because they didn't want to give the impression our choices wouldn't matter in Mass Effect 3.

When Mass Effect 3 came out they stopped caring about that.
