Do you feel the ME3 Price Drops was unethical? Or fair due to the ending?

Free Market goes both ways. Don't tell us "it's our product, we do with it what we want" then cry like a baby when you suffer the backlash from market forces.

Free Market is ruthless. Free Market is unkind. Most people don't like -real- free Market, where Consumers have equal power to Producers, they like Corporate-centric Free Market, where consumers are money filled Pinata's that can be whacked open over and over.

Don't like it? Get out of the free Market.

Thousand times this.

Don't take the risks if you can't handle them.

No its good, we are nuking their wallets.

Maybe then the devs will stop insulting the fans and realize "You know the endings really DO suck we should probably fix this within the month. To you know, keep our jobs"

Considering that mass effect 3 is a product and the best way to vote on whether you liked it or not is to continue giving money to the same people, then yes I'd say it's a perfectly valid thing to do to drop prices on it if you didn't like it.

This is, indeed, the market at work. If I'm really, really unhappy with a product, I'll make sure my opinion is know.

Was the ending fair to players? Majority seem to think not in several polls I've seen.

Poor reviews for disappointing product seem natural. I want this to be an incredible game, the capstone on an incredible series, but I can't say it strikes me as incredible right now. In fact, quite the opposite.

EA has shown that it believes all is fair in the free market. That is a double edged sword. Let it be felt.

I completely agree with the ratings drop and price drop. Not only did I spend $60 for a game that I can't play again, but this game has also ruined the ability for me to play two other games and all the DLC that goes with it.

this.
also, just from sheer empathy, I do not wish to see my friends disappointed. So I advise them against buying the game if they still want to enjoy the Mass Effect universe as they did.

I dont think there is a link between the reception and the price drop.

It's standard procedure for every new release.

Yeah, I've just gone around looking into this.  Every place I've checked into the price hasn't budged.  Could be a regional thing.

Even Amazon who is giddy to drop the prices on nearly anything still has it sitting at the original price.

Great. Then maybe other people won't buy this product overpriced like we did. Good for them.

yes, it is fair. given how Casey mis-led us in his interviews. and its the only way to get both Bioware and especially EA to listen.

Maybe i missed something, but Amazon, Gamestop, Walmart.com, Origin store...still lists ME3 as $59.99.

So what is the price drop you speak of? Im confused.

There have been other games that are 'bad', especially in terms of gameplay, that didn't get the sort of down-grading and price drops that ME3 has seen. However, it is a free market and ultimately the consumer decides what something is worth to them, regardless of ethics.

Stories stir strong passions in people. How much money has Lucas made from Star Wars?

There were alternatives to this that Bioware chose not to pursue despite indicating that they were going to give us ending where our choices mattered.

Can I get a refund, then? I feel robbed of the hours and hours I invested in the story of this series only to be kicked in the balls at the end.

Remember Final Fantasy 13? The reaction it received in Japan? That the game was worth 1/3 of its price after a week? What did Square Enix do with it? They released Final Fantasy 13-2 which pretty much addresses all of the players' concerns about FF13 and is overall a better and more entertaining game.

Seeing as I can't even get a full refund on my CE, I have no tears for them.

If this is what it takes to show big companies like EA that messing around with fans, in order to maximise profit is not cool, then serves them well I'd say.

More than fair. Even if Bioware has something planned that gives us a real ending (how I hope so!), releasing the game in this state with this ending is pretty low, and this is the backlash for it. Let it be a warning to anyone who decides to troll their fans in the future.

It's not necessary for them to impose a price drop. They probably panicked.

If it really WAS that bad of an ending: Maybe. I'm not really sure. Most likely they didn't deserve it but I'd be angry at them none the less.

If this is the greatest stunt in the history of history and we really were indoctrinated and FREE DLC is on the way: Absolutely don't deserve it but at the same time, brought it on themselves in a way. :/

I would pay full price AGAIN if they cut the ending. It's like throwing a dead rat into a gourmet soup.

I think it's wrong. Even with the ending, the other 99% of the game is quite amazing, and shows that Bioware made a large effort on this game. I would still recommend the game to any one of my friends.

Stop saying the rest of the game is awesome and it doesn't deserve bashes like this. It with the endings is a whole product. I bet many people out there paid hard earned money for the game just to have a meaningful closure for his/her Shepard after all these years.

Put it this way, It's like a beautifully prepared food with dead fly in it, in that case I guess you would ask for a refund. and you probably don't what to pay full price for a car with break problems just because the rest of it is fantastically done. So the price drop is reasonable, can't argue with that.
