ME3 is overrated in many ways. Its a Call of Duty with Aliens.

totally agree I top my hat off to creators of mass effect 3 for 99.9% and kept me hooked.

Shame the end killing machine had to make an appearance from Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

I would even say Saints Row: The Third has a better ending than this and that is something bioware shouldn't be proud of

The rest of the game before the finale was absolutely wonderful

The squad interaction was my favourite new feature. Moving them around the normandy to interact was fantastic. Loved it.

If you and I were best friends, and we hung out for 30 years.  And then you chose to shoot my wife in the face, I'm not going to think "Well up until this point it was a pretty good friendship"

This is the best metaphor I've heard yet on the subject.

The rest of the game is so great, it's awesome. It has some of my favorite moments in a videogame ever (Mordin, Anderson's final conversation. The final conversations with your squad)

But the ending just tears it all apart. I can't even replay the game.

There were some technical issues else where but I'm pretty sure that we all agree the game prior to the ending was awesome. So awesome that it would have pushed the entire series to the top as being BioWare's masterpiece.

Anyways yeah, it was never denied that the rest of the game was great. Besides... would we be complaining about the ending only if the entire game was completely wrong?

Yes. Mass Effect 3 is worth the ride, no matter what your opinion of the ending was. BioWare, give us some DLC at least, we know that's what you're doing anyway.

I loved the game. The missions, the artwork, the gameplay was even smoother than ME3.
Didn't really like the endings, all made no sense. We could use some alternate endings.
But I guess I can live with thr endings, have a save file of all different paths.
Still will be replaying the game, it's worth it. They just need to clean up the last part, or at least explain it. As in does 3 different paths mean 3 different future games.
Back on topic, the journey was more than worth even if the destination wasn't that much.

I think we need to acknowledge the people who made that part of ME3 cause they did an incredible job.  They aren't getting many shout outs with the huge fiasco.  I'd like to thank those people who worked on the rest of the game who made such a stellar ride.  The gameplay, narrative and visuals were so much better then anything we had ever seen out of Bioware.  These people need praise and acknowledgement cause for the last 2+ years they have been working their butts off making a great peice of gaming history.  Most everyone here agrees the rest of the game is incredible.  Please show them you haven't forgotten about them.

Totally agree...one of the best games I ever played up until the last 15 minutes.  If it faded to black with Shep and Anderson looking out the window and dying...that would have been better.  The game was a masterpiece up until that point.

Why not?  It tainted everything.  It made everything we have ever done meaningless.  Why would I do that to myself again?

99.8%. They still screwed up Tali's face royally. I mean, come on a photoshopped stockphoto? REALLY??

Indeed.  Yet it is the remaining .2% that renders me unable to commit to a second playthrough.  I just can't bring myself to do it.

Hell, I'll say it. 99% of that game was amazing. The sheer creativity absolutely astounds me. The geth missions? Amazing. The way they keep what Cerberus is doing a mystery right up until the very end? Brilliant. The combat mechanics? The best of the three series by far. And my god, can we all stop and applaud the unsung heroes in sound editing and mixing? Next time you're in an enclosed space, note how much harder it is to locate an enemy because of perfectly simulated echoes! The soundtrack was absolutely beautiful. Right up until the elevator, I would say, without a doubt, this was one of the most ambitious and well done games every made.

And then.... space magic. It's unreal to me. I actually wonder if the script writer died right when they went to right the ending, and due to deadlines, they just got an intern to do it.

I agree most of the game was great honestly en as Anderson was dying beside me I was thinking that this game was a great ending to the trilogy. Then the star baby showed up. One of the saddest things is that I'd love to be talking about my favorite parts, but I can't because all I can think about is that horrible ending.

90% was great. Didn't like that my LI wasn't more involved (Miranda) and didn't like the new Jack, god that was so stereotypical. They even used the name Rodriguez!!!! They kept scanning in, the quests should have been labeled better. Paragon/Renegade shouldn't have been available for the Quarian Geth choice, took away what would've been a fantastic moment. And the end.

But everything else was really great, I thought. Loved Javik. Wasn't so much into Chobot being in-game but they gave her an enormous behind. Not gonna make an asset joke there.

Absolutely.

Up until 'that moment', it was everything I ever wanted it to be. In fact, one of the reasons I'm upset is that I want to keep playing, I just don't want to face that ending again.

99% of a broken leg is in perfect condition. I still couldn't walk on it.

Incidentally tvtropes.org needs to redefine a Gainax ending as an ME3 ending.

I'll show support for the 99% of the game that was amazing. I loved it, it was a great experience and even have no major qualms about the multiplayer aside from some balancing issues maybe. Aside from that and the attrocious elevator ride to hell at the end, it was awesome. I'd love to do it again but then I'd remember what happens at the end...
