This is going way too far. 95% of the game is a downright masterpiece!

THEY erased it from history.
THEY took a wonderful universe and maliciously destroyed it.
It's THEIR fault, and if they don't fix it then I will have no part of Mass Effect ever again.

One other little point. Bioware does NOT have a instant right to my money. They have to earn it.

There is no faith/trust. Even if they completely rewrote the ending and gave it to people for free, the damage is still done. Keep in mind thats something they wont do either. Every other options (halucination needs explanation, DLC is criminal and I wont buy it, or just telling us doesn't fix anything.)
I played a game and left with an impression. Even if its not what bioware intended, they have still failed.
If a product can't stand up on its own (no explanations, no dlc, no nothing), they have yet again failed.
ME 3 is a failure.

Free Market goes both ways. Don't tell us "it's our product, we do with it what we want" then cry like a baby when you suffer the backlash from market forces.
Free Market is ruthless. Free Market is unkind. Most people don't like -real- free Market, where Consumers have equal power to Producers, they like Corporate-centric Free Market, where consumers are money filled Pinata's that can be whacked open over and over.
Don't like it? Get out of the free Market.
Thousand times this.
Don't take the risks if you can't handle them.

Honestly, I am just working out how I feel about it today. I finished the game last night, sat back and had a beer and watched some TV. I was very sad it was all over at the time, so I decided to give it a day.
Over the day today, I have realized that the fact that it has consumed my thoughts is testament in and of itself. I am not totally happy with it, but it was a great ride overall.

more like 99.9%. which makes the fact that they could kill the entire franchise for me in such a short space of time nothing short of amazing.
well they are master story tellers.

Yes it is, but like most films and books a good beginning and a good end is CRITICAL to something that is not only well recieved but also something that you'll love for a long time. Sadly ME3 doesn't fullfill the END part, either on it's own or as part of a trilogy.
Add to that the fact that many people (rightly) feel they were lied to/given false promises to purchase the game and you've got some displeasure.
Cheers. McBeath.
PS. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

When the reapers attacked the citadel was it too far to destroy soverign?
When the Illusive Man told Shepard to save the Collector Base, was it too far to blow it the hell up?
When the reapers invaded Earth was it too far to rally all the sentients in the galaxy to oppose them?
Then let us take it too far!
(In retrospect, if you're going to anger a large portion of your fan base, it probably is not a good idea to do it around a game whose entire narative frame work is about banding together to fight an unstoppable juggernaut no matter what the cost)

I've seen much more thought, heart, and argumentation in all threads against the endings, while in the anti-anti-endings group, i've mostly just seen dismissive, hollier-than thou and, cynical attitudes.
Me too. I'm sort of amazed at how the majority of the people are presenting themselves in a rational, thoughtful way.

This game is way better than the crap it is getting from people that are blowing the endings way out of proportion. It is arguably the best game in the series.

We got scammed for our money on ME3.
Plus, aside from jokes to keep our spirits up, this has been a highly composed reaction.

THIS. And Waffles. Shepard at some point needs to make Waffles for his LI. Because.
