Geez stop being so dramatic.

Why don't you stop provoking people?

Bottom line is we were told we would get something we didn't receive -- an ending where the fate of characters and civilizations depended on previous decisions, in the way of Mass Effect 2.

Nothing wrong with reacting against false advertising.

This is going way too far. 95% of the game is a downright masterpiece!

No trust for someone who serves me an expensive gourmet dish just to put a rotting rat carcass on it when I reach for my fork. And doesn't even consider giving me a refund. My trust has been shattered, and violently so.

I agree

This is the price that Bio Ware is going to keep paying until they respond. They cant keep ignoring this whole citation and hope it fizzles out. If any thing there silence is fueling the radicals. Maybe when Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Game Stop and Target start dropping the price on there game they will have to say some thing. There silence is making the whole thing worse. With all the bad press and review now surfacing they can no longer just stick there head in the sand and pretend that nothing is wrong and its just a small vocal minority complaining.

Bioware made a trilogy that was brilliant and beautiful. Until the last ten minutes. People shouldn't say that anything about the series or BioWare is bad, except for the trash ending.

DA2....

Which has been proven to have nothing to do with ME 3.  By now it is obvious from playing ME 3 that it is nothing like DA 2 so stop right there with you "but DA 2" crap, but DA 2 nothing.  This uproar over the endings just proves how overreactive the BSN is and has always been.  So many drama queens like to come on here and say how their experience is ruined over 5 minutes.  These people need to wake up.  Headscratcher endings are nothing new to movies and video games, even great ones.  And yes ME 3 is a great game.

Does this board have tens of thousands of members who would vote on polls?

Indeed, ME3 is a great game until the last five minutes, which aggressively seeks out and destroys any purpose we might have found in the journey.

Contrary to what interviews said we would get.

The last 5 minutes still doesn't take away from the first 40 hours or so.  And if you paid attention there was resolution to many arcs of the trilogy many of these resolutions came well before the ending.

I can never look at the previous 2 games the same anymore.

It's just not the same, and it is, and forever will be...

tainted.

Haha. But really, 95% of the game WAS ****ING AWESOME. But the endings are just non-choice and nonsense that doesn't fit with the spirit and of the entire span of the trilogy that came before it.

This game IS amazing, which is why it makes the fans so sad to have the ending it does!

It's a testament to how outstanding the trilogy has been that fans would be so upset. If the games were less incredible, we'd shelve them and be done with it. To ask for more means that we are really invested, which means Bioware has done something great.

Don't be a jerk.  A statement of fact isn't "being dramatic," and he is far from the only one that feels that way right now.  Is it permanent?  Almost certainly not, but BioWare has done a lot of damage to the unshakable trust that they had built with fans over more than a decade of excellence.  If they don't at least acknowledge that they made a mistake, it's going to be very hard to ever repair that trust, and that will harm their future sales.

I doubt bioware will respond at all. The endings they came up with got people talking and interperting them in different ways. Everyone has their own theories as to what the ending really was. That's the best response they could hope for with a game that is about everyone having their own unique experience.

We all agree that 99% of the game in good.

But how would you feel if you were eating an ice-cream only to find out there was poop in the middle of it?

You should start your own game development franchise based on the idea "people are morons for wanting things".

I want to start by saying that review "bombing" should not be done. It totally devalues all the hard work many of us put in to get better endings and the like. That being said, many of the people review "bombing" aren't even necessarily people from this forum. In fact, the ones doing it are very likely void of any other place to vent their frustration. I don't condone it, but that doesn't mean I feel guilty for what's happening. It's an effect of the backlash and it's as simple as that.

Not when the response is almost universally negative, and is going to have a large impact on DLC sales.  This is a case where "there is no such thing as bad press" really doesn't apply.

My inability to enjoy any Mass Effect game after finishing ME3 begs to differ. And yes, I was absolutely in love with ME3 until the final 15 minutes.

Never. Mention. That. Game. Ever. Again.

That game was the epitome of how to NOT handle a series. I was a fan of the C&C and RA for a long time, since the first ones by Westwood. Then EA came along, screwed them up. C&C4 and RA3 were disgraces to the C&C name. And I honestly think the same of the ending.

The reason why people are having an issue is that the entire purpose of ME3 was a conclusion. The 3rd act: climax and resolution. As a story, it fails miserable on these literary basics.

So yes, the build up was incredible. But the story won the battles, but lost the war.

Masterpiece or not, let me give you a good analogy of what ME3 is. A wine maker puts heart and soul into the best wine he has ever created, but right at the last minute someone comes along and adds 5% raw sewage to it. So the question I ask you, do you still drink it or is the whole thing tainted now because of the last 5%?

In case you didn't pay attention the fates of the geth, quarians, and krogan civilizations were decided by the player.  Oh and Earth as well.  Not saying that the endings weren't less than satisfactory but condemning the whole game over them is just downright idiotic.

Y'know, I'm pretty sure a lot of the writers, devs, and producers who have poured years and years of their lives into the ME universe feel just as crushed as we do that ME3 did not get the ending it deserved. For me personally, the logical fallacies, recycling of cutscenes, and overall abruptness of the ending aren't so much a closure issue as they simply just don't do the series justice. Lots of people, and not just the fans, invested a lot of their time, creativity, emotions, and resources to see this series through to the end, and to have it fall so flat, without a cohesive dénouement or sense of unity, is really just defeating. I don't NEED Shepard to live - I don't need a hunky-dory ending where everything is rainbows and unicorns, but what I would like to see is the trilogy go out with the bang it deserves.

Going too far would be establishing a lawsuit against BioWare for false advertising, misleading consumers, voiding POSSIBLE warranties and even scam.

We, however, are keeping things civil, asking, demanding and even offering inputs on how to fix this mess, this pathetic excuse for an ending to one of the best game IPs ever. We're being civil, we're being rational, and most of us are not offending anyone, we just voice our issues, concerns and possible fixes in threads on this forum, which is exactly what this forum is for. So don't say this is going too far, this is exactly asfar as it should be.
