The error, "Mass Effect 3 servers are unavailable, please try again later" has continously popped up during my attempts of enjoying this game. Now usually not having access to multiplayer wouldn't bother me, it's the DLC authorization that bugs me. I know that this has been brought up many times, just search servers in the forums, it's all over the place. Yet the issue has not been directly acknowledged.

This is my last breath for hope, as EA support told me to clear my cache, disable my fireall and anti-virus, and when that didn't work, I was told to open task manager and end all processes. Now if I had of done that, it would've ended our very productive live chat, and the problem would've persisted.

I'm not here to yell, scream and cry about a game not working, I'm here for results. I am here for a solution as soon as possible. There are other ways of "fixing" this problem but alas I have played the multiplayer part in the demo, and it was pretty fun.

Now to the troubleshooting, if anyone says its my internet, I will eat your first born child. My brother can play ME3 fine on his PC. At the moment I am trying to get him to let me log into his account and play the game, to see if its my account that is the issue. But while doing this any and all solutions will be greatly appreciated.

its NOT your internet. Its doing the same thing to mine as well. I thought it was my net as well but when I played 3 rounds of solid MW3 Multiplayer I discovered it wasnt net. Honestly I haven't the slightest ****ing clue but they better get the ****ing servers "up" because it wont allow me to play the ****in single player even >.>

Well, yesterday I found a quick fix, it will work for some, but not all. Worked for me, but once I quit and tried to go back in, I was greeted with the message that I will fear until death.

1) Click start, go to 'All Programs', then 'Accessories', look for 'Command Prompt'.

2) Right-click on Command Prompt, click on 'Run As Administrator', if you get a security prompt, just choose continue or allow.

3) in command prompt, type, "netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled".

4) Exit Command prompt, and your game should be working. For awhile

Best of luck to all receiving this message..

When I minimize my game window while it's connecting to the EA servers, it'll connect, but only if I minimize it. And even then, that's only for a little while. It'll boot me from the servers in a lobby or the middle of a game. Not sure why minimizing works, but it does.

Same problem, no solutions, 45 minute wait just to chat with EA tech support. I've been able to play three times since I bought the game due to school and work commitments, so at the moment, 33% of my game time has been inaccessible due to EA server issues. I've tried every solution I've found online, and nothing works, so as best as I can tell, EA's servers are just down.

I'm having the same problem and have had since I installed the game last week. I always allow for time for the company to adjust their servers to meet the loads, but there is a greater issue. I don't mind not being able to authenticate, as long as I can play my single player game with all of my DLCs. Unfortunately, you have to authenticate your DLCs every time you load the game. If not, the save games won't load. That's a serious flaw that should be fixed right away. DLCs should be validated one time and one time only on each machine, then allow everything to work offline all the time. Please EA, add that into the next patch and quickly.

@Aldrann Thank You Aldrann for this, I tried it, thinking it wouldn't work but it did, and I can play multiplayer fine now. But regardless of this working I don't consider it fixed.

I would be very surprised if EA and Bioware did nothing about this.

I am not sure if you guys know this but there is a small 25mb patch. So just check for update and it should download that patch. After that I could connect to quick games fine. However, my Origin's friend list is not loading.

Yeah it's a weird fix that I discovered by accident, and after a few tests determined that it did, in fact work.

It works for some people, but not for me. I've tried the patch, opening ports, running as admin, etc. etc. all down the list.

I'm convinced it has something to do with our Origin accounts themselves.
There's stories of people in the same household on the same internet connection with different Origin id's and one can connect and one can't. Obviously the only difference beyond perhaps computer settings is the Origin id's.

EA Server can drop you, apparently randomly, and Origin Friends Server has been down for about 10 hours now. The Origin part is getting annoying, the EA Server part, I'm not ready to blame them yet, the game is still recently out, and this is quite normal. Give them a week to fix it. You have the rest of your lives to play it.

But this isn't an issue of the servers dropping us. This is an issue where we fail to even connect to the servers in the first place every single time we start the game.

Also I know for a fact that the EA servers aren't down like some are speculating (at least not in the US) because I have friends all over who are able to connect and play consistently and without issue.

Seems like servers are still down... this is like F.E.A.R. 2 with Steam all over again for me. We paid for a game that we should be able to play when *we* want to. Guess its back to FFX for me

I found a fix that works for me. I was able to get on the server and I just played two multiplayer games without being booted out.

Here's what I did:

1. Log into Origin and open Settings. In the General tab, check the box that says "Update to pre-release version if available"
2. Exit Origin, don't just log out, exit the program completely. Log back in and let it update.
3. Find the "hosts" file located in C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\drivers\\etc and open it with notepad.
4. Add the following line to the bottom of your hosts file: 127.0.0.1 me3.goscontent.ea.com
5. This is very important: when you open ME3 and you see it saying "Connecting to EA Servers..." minimize your game window with Ctrl+Alt+Delete or Alt+Tab. Wait about 30 seconds and maximize the window again.

Hopefully this works for everyone like it worked for me!

For me, this causes the game to crash. Maybe because I have the window set to fake fullscreen?

This same issue started happening to me today, same responses from Origin Live Help and not a single suggestion from them worked. One Live Help support representative even ended the chat with the "since you did not respond I will end the chat" response right after I typed in a couple of responses and was typing a new response. The game, including multiplayer, was working perfectly fine up until this morning. Outside of the Mass Effect 3 servers actually being down (Origin rep says servers are up but I dont have full confidence that they know anything from the few times ive chatted with them), the only thing I can think of is that the Operation Goliath rewards or using Bioware Points must have messed something up. I used some Bioware Points I had leftover yesterday right after redeeming the Operation Goliath rewards and then played some more before logging out. Since this issue has been affecting people since 9 days ago, has anyone figured out why this happens? Does it eventually start letting you log in again?

Ok so it finally allowed me to connect BUT the "Galaxy at War" does not load and instead says cannot connect to server. I can join multiplayer matches but the Galaxy at War map still refuses to load even after winning a match. I then exited the game and reloaded, back to "Mass Effect 3 servers are unavailable, please try again later." So I tried a couple more times and it worked again as above with the Galaxy at War map not loading as well as one of the DLC not loading. What the heck is going on? There are a ton of people on multiplayer right now so it must not be happening to them I dont think.

I just used the credits I earned in multiplayer to buy a veteran pack and the game gave me that error other people are having where it takes your credits but gives you no pack and tells you that the purchase failed and to notify customer support if it keeps happening. Galaxy at War does not load, and the game only lets me log in to EA after several tries at connecting with the DLC sometimes authorizing. This is crazy.
