This is related to static behaviour when hold position is used, and I'm not sure if it's meant to function this way.
Example Scenario: Leliana, Bow
Tactics Enabled (no tactics set), Ranged Behaviour, Hold Position
If I set the party to hold position, enter a fight using Leliana by herself, then select one of my other party members so I can let the AI handle her, she won't actually do anything until my selected character is within a predetermined proximity in relation to her position. I tested this with various tactics set as well, such as Scattershot on the nearest enemy, and she stood there like a lemon getting bombarded with melee and ranged attacks, until I decided to move a little closer to her and the combat area. Once I was sufficiently close (though there still was some distance), she sprang to life and started attacking, following her tactics and AI.
So, it seems as if tactics and behaviour go out the window if hold position is used and your characters are too far apart, but I'm wondering whether this was intentional, a limitation, or even a bug.
