UPDATE 03.15.12: I am now actively accepting Strategy articles for me3multiplayer.wordpress.com. These articles should be about 1,000+ words (less may be o.k.) and can focus on a specific weapon, class of weapons (i.e. shotgun comparison), team dynamics, complete gold team build, playstyle guide (i.e. general sniper tactics), max and min builds (i.e. the max damage possible in the game, the highest damage per second), team building exercises, and N00B guides that carefully outline basic shooter tactics supplimented with video and/or graphic illustrations. If there's anything else you can think of feel free to ask me and i'll let you know if it's post-able.

If you have seen any of these (even partial articles/guides) on these forums or elsewhere, please send me links so i can contact the authors. If you would like to write your own article please post your intent and basic outline here so that we don't have too much overlap with submissions.

There will be at least one build for EVERY class and race by sometime tomorrow posted on me3multiplayer.com.

Thanks for your continued support folks!
-Lucien Midnight

Original Post:

Howdy folks, i'm tired of scouring the web for complete multiplayer builds. Too often the forum posts are incomplete ("spec him for damage, and max out cloak") and largely unhelpful for most users. The build forum topic here on BioWare's site is chalk full of spoilers and mostly does not relate to multiplayer.

So, I've started my own website    me3multiplayer.com   in order to create a clear, comprehensive list of builds for EVERY class AND RACE complete with weapon suggestions and stragegy guides. The beauty of it is that I will be accepting submissions to the site for all eternity so if you want to remember your build before you promote a character, or share an awesome or unconventional build with the community, you'll be able to store them on my website and they'll be online forever. :D

I'd love your help getting this website started so i'd like to announce that I am now accepting multiplayer build submissions! To save me many hours of filling out incomplete builds, I humbly request that you fill out this simple form completely before posting your build. If you have any questions, concerns, comments, or suggestions, feel free to post them here! Or email me at me3midnight@gmail.com.

Here's the form:

Build Title:
Power Evolutions:
power (4), power (5), power (6) (please include every power evolution, use N/A if no points allocated. also, specify every rank from 4 to 6 please!)
Weapons:
(suggested weapons to use with build, feel free to suggest alternative loadouts)
Strategy:
(build specific strategy, no need to go over the basics)
N00b Rating:(scale is 1-5, 1 means the build is easy for anyone to use. 5 is a drell vanguard melee build… hehe)
Tags:
widow, offense, aggressive, stealth, melee, carnifex, overload (please include relevant tags for the playstyle, featured powers, featured weapons, etc.)
Color Scheme:(totally optional, but awesome if you want to include it!)

Please use this color coding system created by Vigilant_Pep:

Describing a color scheme follows the listing of options:  PrimaryColor, HighlightColor, SecondaryColor, Pattern:PatternColor, Lights, SkinTone.

Pattern is described as a value between 0 and 3, with 0 being no pattern.

Image IPB

Here are two sample color schemes:
Sentinel, Human Male      A10 B4 B12 1:B4 C1
Engineer, Salarian            A9 B11 A12 1:B4 C1(skin tone not included in examples)

Fill out this form and email it to me at me3midnight@gmail.com or simply post it here in this thread. Thanks in advance for your submission! I’m posting builds just as fast as I can.

SAMPLE SUBMISSION

Build Title:
Siren Salarian

Power Evolutions:
Energy Drain: Radius (4), Recharge Speed (5), Damage (6)
Tactical Cloak: Duration (4), Recharge Speed (5), Bonus Power (6)
Proximity Mine: N/A
Salarian Operative: Damage & Capacity (4), Headshots (5), Sniper Rifles (6)
Fitness: Durability (4), Shield Recharge (5), Durability (6)

Weapons:
I’d recommend your favorite sniper rifle with this bad boy. If you hate sniper rifles, make a different choice for rank 6 of Salarian Operative and rank 6 of Tactical Cloak. You could easily be successful with the carnifax, and actually the reduced weight would allow more Energy Drain spam. Choose one weapon only, no need for two with the powerful Energy Drain and cloaking abilities.

Strategy:
The Siren Salarian is perfect for sniper/infiltrators who enjoy working closely with a team. The radius and quick recharge speed of Energy Drain allows awesome crowd control, especially against the Geth. You’ll want to sit back a ways behind your team and cloak for headshots with a powerful sniper like the widow or a high level mantis. Take out shields for your team with Energy Drain and use the cloak for medic duty as well. If someone on your team goes down, you have the longer duration on your cloak and you can stop an enemy from stomping your friend with energy drain, keep your cloak up because of rank 6 bonus power, and then revive them before the enemy has a clue to what’s going on.

N00b Rating: (scale 1-5, 1 is easy for anyone!)
4. This class requires sniping skill, tactical cloaking, enemy crowd control, and teammate awareness.

@Zalfuse, that is my hope! I play with every class except for soldier so I will be uploading all of my builds to the site eventually. It'll take some time though.

Thinking of doing my Asari Vanguard Melee build next... N00b rating 5 of course...

I would like to see indexing. Also, some mechanism to filter redundant builds and review process to avoid build spam.

I do approve of the thought though. I wish it was easier to find out what effects interact.

Here's a basic Asari Adept build pretty sure most people use this or something similar.

Power Evolutions:
Stasis: Duration (4), Recharge (5), Bubble (6)
Warp: Detonate (4), Expose (5), Pierce (6)
Throw: Radius (4), Detonate (5), Force and Damage (6)
Asari Justicar: Damage and Capacity (4), Power Damage (5), Pistols (6)

Weapon: Anything that give you near 200% recharge speed. I personally like using an Avanger X since, just comes down to what I want to use since the majority of the same I rarely shoot with my weapon.

Stratergy: Pretty much simple, place your bubble at choke points and you will CC up to 2 targets. Follow up the targets you hit with a warp (if it is a large group) or throw (smaller group just 1 or 2 targets). For single targets if you have room just warp and throw the target to trigger a biotic detonation. Armor targets cannot be cc'ed with stasis so just put distance between you and them and warp/throw spam. Biotic detonation is the bulk of you damage, further more the damage from biotic detonations scale with difficulty. The main thing to worry about running this is that you are squishy (i.e: 1 granade will 100 - 0 you if your within range on gold), don't try to tank mobs and take cover whenever you can. Always watch your surroundings and be careful not to let things flank you or get too close to you. If enimies get too close and you need to get away, stasis it and move. Further more your roll skill drains your barrier, it's not much, but if you spam it, it does add up.

Noob Rating:
Depends how aware you are of yoru surroundings. 5 if you get tunneled vision, 1 if you know what is going around you. Always keep track of what is around you or you will be spending a good chunk of time on the ground.

That is my name for the build! It is named for its strategic focus on crowd control. If you know the mythology of the Siren this will make sense to you. The ME3 class is an infiltrator.

*note: this is very clear on the website. check it out!

@ajburges, what exactly are you referring to when you say indexing? Currently I plan to use Wordpress categories to assign builds to multiple... well categories! Example: the sample salarian build will appear under salarian infiltrator, but eventually it will also appear in an additional category for its n00b rating and possible under other categories as well. What would you like to see??

I think i can also use tags so that you could search for "sniper" for example and every class with a sniper rifle as the suggested weapon should come up.

Also, I will be moderating all posts for now, so i'm not concerned about spam or redundancies at this time. If (i so hope this happens) the website is popular enough, i will buy the full domain name and hire someone to program a more complex ranking system and a mini forum for build depate and discussion. I would also like to include the mathmatecal statistics of all power, weapons, power combos, etc. to assist in team building.

Build Title: Asari Assault Sniper
Power Evolutions: Biotic Charge: Lvl 4 Force and Damage, Lvl 5 Weapon Synergy Lvl 6 Barrier
Stasis: Lvl 4 Stasis Strength, Lvl 5 Bonus Power, Lvl 6 Bubble
Lift Grenade: N/A
Asari Justicar: Lvl 4 Damage & Capacity, Lvl 5 either, Lvl 6 Weapon Damage
Fitness: Lvl 4 Durability, Lvl 5 Shield Recharge, Lvl 6 Fitness Expert

Weapons: M-99 Saber with a damage increase mod and capacity increase mod.
Alternativley, the M-99 can be substituted with a high powered pistol(ex. Carnifex or Paladin) for a decrease in weight. If choosing a pistol, substitute the Asari Justicar Lvl 6 perk with Pistols instead of Weapon Damage.

Strategy: Use stasis to trap enemies and then use either the M-99 or your hand cannon to pull of a headshot. Certain targets may take more than one shot. While a sniper could be used, the M-99 is just as good at taking targets out at a distance(hits exactly where you aim it if you're in cover) and can still be used up close. The m-99 also has a 8(11+ with mod) round clip and a fast reload time, while snipers have smaller clips and longer reloads. If when you stasis a target and your Bonus Power perk kicks in, Charge in for a biotic combo, provided it is safe to do so(nobody likes a vanguard who charges into a group of enemies and gets downed) if not, just go for a headshot.

N00b Rating: 3/5(just for the fact that the M-99 or a high powered pistol are really hard to get)

Build Title: Cloaky Claymore

class: Any Infiltrator, preferably the Salarian one.

Power Evolutions: I'll post that in a few minutes.

Weapons: Just the M-300 Claymore.

Strategy: Basically, you use your cloak, run right up to an enemy (preferably one of the tougher ones like the Centurion or Maruader, etc.), put your Claymore in his mouth, and pull the trigger. Then you do some evasive maneuvers until your cloak recharges. Rinse and repeat.

The beauty of this class is that the Claymore has a tendency to one-shot anything human-sized. Although it does take some practice to line up that perfect shot before your cloak runs out.

You can use Energy Drain or Cryo Blast (depending on the race) to stagger your enemy and give you time to line up a good shot. I've frequently gotten first place with this build. It takes some getting used to, and you have to be pretty ballsy to get to some of the more protected targets. This build really flourishes in the "High Value Targets" objectives. You just sneak behind enemy lines and blow them away in short order.

N00b Rating: You likely won't be much of a N00b by the time you get your Claymore. But I'd give it a 4 or 5. Like I said, it takes some getting used to and some pretty good situational awareness.

class name:
Turian Specialist (Must be a Turian Soldier because he gets MAJOR weapon boosts)

Powers:
Marksman:
All evolutions towards firing speed.

Concussive Shot:
N/A

Proximity Mine:
N/A

Turian Veteran:
Weapon Damage, Headshot Damage, Weapon Damage.

Fitness:
Health & Shields, Shield Recharge, Health & Shields.

Weapons:
A fast firing, high capacity assault rifle such as the Geth Rifle, or Phaseton + a slow, hard hitting sidearm like the Carnifex or Paladin.

Strategy: Headshots are vital to this class, and you have to be an excellent shot, but the high difficulty is rewarded if a headshot is achieved with the Carnifex. Usually a one-shot kill will follow if a headshot finds its mark on any non-shielded target. Use the assault rifle as a backup for when you run out of pistol, and against any large enemies such as the Atlas or Geth Primes as it takes down the shields very quickly. Switch to the pistol and activate Marksman when the shields go down, and aim for the head! This will dispatch a Geth Prime in one 10 round magainze of Carnifex if all shots hit the head.

If there is a corridor of 5 + infantry you can clear the whole thing in about 4 seconds if you can land all the shots. Works great on any difficulty, and gets you the gold headshot medal every game, guaranteed!

The Geth Rifle and Phaseton work great as well because they already have high accuracy, combined with increased fire rate means that you can get all of the shots as critical hits!

N00b rating: 5/5

Most people have a hard time getting consistent headshots on moving targets, but master it and Gold seems like a cake-walk!

Build Title: The Fairly Popular Turian Sentinel

Power Evolutions:

Tech Armor - Rank 6 (Damage Protection, Power Damage/Force, Damage Protection)

Warp - N/A

Overload - Rank 6 (Chain Overload, Recharge Time, Chain Overload)

Turian Veteran - Rank 6 (Damage/Capacity, Power Damage/Force, Damage/Stability)

Fitness - Rank 6 (Shield Bonus, Recharge Speed, Shield Bonus)

Weapons: Vindicator is the normal weapon for this set.

Strategy: A decent rank Vindicator gives you the 200% recharge speed, and you more or less wander the map headshotting mobs and throwing out overload to stun a fair sized portion of the wave. The bonus damage reduction and shield size makes it pretty easy for you to get away from mobs and get to people that need to be rez'ed. Warp would be nice, but the people that are going to use the biotic explosions (Vanguards and Adepts) are going to have higher ranks of warp/stasis than you. Well, assuming you don't gimp your survivability.

N00b Rating: 2. You can take a lot of hits before something kills you, and the stun on overload lets you escape pretty easily.

Quarian Infiltrator

Tactical Cloak Rank 6 > Damage>Recharge Speed > Sniper Damage
Sticky Grenade Rank 3
Sabotage Rank 6 > Duration > Recharge Speed > Berserk
Quarian Defender Rank 6 > Damage and Capacity > Headshots > Weapon Damage
Fitness Rank 5 > Durability > Shield Recharge

Weapons: Sniper Rifle of your choice and optionaly a smg with light weight materials if you feel you need a sidearm.

Strategy:
The Quarian Infiltrator is probably the hardest of the infiltrator to play, you lack any ability to assist in lining up head shots or stripping defenses.

You rely on cloak to provide the extra damage to power through defenses on silver and bronze for clean kills, be prepared to have to fire multiple shots on gold to strip defenses.

Sticky grenades are just extra damage but they still pack a punch so don't forget about them, use them to kill dangerous targets such as brutes, phantoms, atlas, and ravagers.

Where the Quarian Infiltrator differentiates its self from the other infiltrators is that it has an ability called sabotage.  Sabotage either causes weapons to backfire, stunning enemies who fire upon a target and dealing a small amount of damage, or hacking, which temporarily converts synthetic enemies to fight for you.  Usage of this power will vary depending on the enemy you face.  For reapers only the cannibals are affected by the backfire making this faction the hardest of the three to face, to beat the reapers you will be relying on cloak and your sniper rifle to see you through.  Against Cerberus everything is affected but avoid wasting it on shielded humanoids as they ignore the backfire if the defenses are up, highly recommend allowing engineers to set up their turrets and then hacking them.  Hacking an atlas is also useful but it lasts for half the duration and will become immune after 3 hacking attempts, use it sparingly to either buy you time or when the moment is right and there are enemies in front of the atlas that is approaching you.  Against Geth everything becomes hacked by this skill, trivializing the faction, hack everything and often but beware of diminishing returns, usually though the enemies should be cleared before this ever becomes a problem just remember what you have hacked do not ignore them for long.

I consider it an all comers build capable of handling anything on any difficulty.

N00b Rating 4: (scale is 1-5)  While its a bit harder to use on cerberus and reapers compared to the other infiltrators, the quarian infiltrator trivializes the geth.  This class requires the ability to headshot consistantly.

@Josic, it is my pleasure! I love the Mass Effect games and want to give back to the community.

@Everyone who posted builds so far, I've updated the website with everything! Please check the site to make sure i've done it accurately and that you've gotten the credit you deserve. If you posted a 'basic' or 'popular' build i may have given you write up credit at the end of the post rather than author credit. I'm more than happy to give you full author credit if you want it or update the posts with additional information. Feel free to post on the site as well, i'll see that as well as any posts in this forum.

Don't forget to share the site with your friends! Also, please encourage them to submit their own builds. There are a billion different possibilities!

Build Title: Asari Glass Cannon
Power Evolutions: Stasis- strength, recharge speed, bubble
Warp: Detonate, exposure, recharge
Throw: Froce, detonate, force
Asari Justicar: Damage and capacity, damage, Pistols*
Fitness: up to rank 3*

* if you have a high level carnifex or paladin (190% or more cooldown) forget pistols and just grab 3 ranks of fitness.

Weapons: Carnifex or Paladin if you have them. If not, any heavy pistol that will keep you over 180% recharge speed. Dmg + scope mods.
Strategy: Designed mainly for gold. Strategy is to just cause detonations non stop. For non-armored targets, stasis bubble throw/warp detonate, for armored, warp into throw detonate.
Stasis strength over duration as I've found this to be more useful. Better chance of having stasis affect still around for detonates, rather than target having fallen over by time CD is up.
For warp, recharge over pierce since warp is just to setup explosions and is only up for ~2 seconds anyway.

During power CD if you don't need to hide, you can do 2-3 headshots to remove protection before a detonate.

Build works well regardless of enemy type.

N00b Rating:4 Takes a bit of practice getting used to the power, hide playstyle and having very little HP/barriers. Also need a higher level of carnifex or Paladin for this build to really shine, but once you get to the point of biotic explosions every 2 seconds, it's worth it.

Build Title: Salarian Widowmaker

Power Evolutions:
Tactical cloak: Damage, recharge, bonus power
Energy Drain: Damage, drain, damage
Salarian Operative: Damage and capacity, headshot, sniper rifle
Fitness: Durability, shield recharge, fitnes expert

Weapons: Widow or black widow. Mantis if you lack either.

Strategy: Build is based around widow mainly. Cloak, energy drain then body shot will kill anything except geth prime, ravager, brute, banshee, atlas and phantom. If you use warp ammo, you can 1 shot phantoms after an energy drain (not sure if bug or working as intended as this is the only ammo power that lets yo do this).

Black Widow is also a great alternative. If you're good with headshots, you can still 1 shot kill most enemies, but it requires headshots rather than just body shots. FYI, the cloak bonus to shot dmg buff lasts for ~1.5 seconds after the first shot. Depending on lag, you can get 2 or even all 3 shots off with the bonus still applied.

If you're good , build really dominates play, and gives asari adepts a run for their money in terms of damage. Plus you have the added benefit of cloak, a ton more hp/shields and an ability that instantly recharges all you shields while doing massive damage and stunning.

N00b Rating: 2 for widow based play. Pretty simple honestly, very easy to cloak, energy drain and body shot. Just don't get tunnel visioned and have a geth pryo or something sneak up and kill you. However, each missed shot you make is a big error, so does take some practice to be fast.
4 for Black widow based play. Harder to do headshots, and even harder to line up a second headshot and get if off in <1.5 secs after the first shot. A ton easier if you have an asari with stasis bubble around though:P

* With the changes on 3/13/2012 to geth units shield and HP, I don't think it's possible to 1 shot Hunters and Pyro's anymore with body shots. I'll try to confirm tonight, but if anyone else tests before then, let us know.

@banthracis, excellent builds! neither overlap with my currently published builds so both will be posted. I will be renaming Salarian Sniper build to something more catchy, hope that's ok. Be sure to check the site later on and make sure i've posted correctly.

@EVERYONE, it would really help me out if you could rate some of the builds on the website so I can test out the system in wordpress. Just click on a build and look towards the bottom. Thanks!

Build Title:
Safety Dance
Human Vanguard

Power Evolutions:
Biotic Charge: Radius[4], Power Synergy[5], Barrier[6]
Shockwave: N/A
Nova: Force & Damage[4], Half Blast[5], Pierce[6]
Alliance Training: Damage & Capacity[4], Power Damage[5], Weapon Damage[6]
Fitness: Durability[4], Shield Recharge[5], Fitness Expert[6]

Skill Breakdown:
Biotic Charge
-Barrier- Increases your survivability and your ability to cast nova
-Radius- I took this for the sake of lessening risk by twitching more enemies
-Power Synergy- Buffs damage of your nova and biotic charge
Nova
-Half Blast- The most important for Nova, increases your survivability and damage output (by not being dead)
-Force & Damage- Chose this over Radius, because Nova's radius is actually quite large already
-Pierce- Increases damage potential on armor/barrier/etc. Makes Nova a good
opener on strong and shielded opponents. If I'm nearby, I'll Nova, then Charge something a foot away and
then Nova again.
Alliance Training
-Weapon Damage- Over Weapon Weight, because you really don't need anything much stronger than standard weapons, but this is ultimately up to you.
Shockwave
-Why no shockwave? In order to get good reach on Shockwave, you need to sacrifice damage points. It's better instead to just get used to maneuvering with nova.

Weapons:
Anything that can keep your cooldowns at 180+ bonus is good, 200 is great. The Predator or Katana standard weapons work fine.

Strategy:
This build offers the most defense while maintaining a strong offense. It allows you to use nova twice in a row, but the main idea is that after the first nova, you'll still have barriers left to keep from getting killed instantly in dire situations. You don't necessarily need a weapon, as you'll be hitting 1 and 3 almost nonstop, but in case a charge or nova doesn't kill something, you can finish it off quickly with something like a Predator or Katana. It's also good to have a weapon just for situations where going in might get you stomped. Approach banshees with caution, use nova while moving away from them, save your charge for regaining your barrier. Atlas and Brutes are moderately safe--roll backward after charging them to keep a safe distance. You can destroy Phantoms, but be aware of what they're doing in case you don't stagger them.

N00b Rating: (scale 1-5, 1 is easy for anyone!)
1. This build is easily approachable, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for finesse.

Here's an....interesting build I've been trying.

Turian Sentinel

Build Title: Immobilizer
Tech Armor: N/A
Warp: Damage > Expose > Pierce
Overload: Chain Overload > Neural Shock > Chain Overload
Turian Veteran: Damage and Capacity > Power Damage > Assault Rifles
Fitness: Durability > Shield Recharge.

A high level Falcon is recommended for reduced cooldown but not required as you can use a power recharge bonus equipment.

Synopsis: The Falcon's grenades stuns most enemies and this combined with Overload's neural shock evolution basically makes most enemies not able to even shoot back. It also has the benefit of reducing the amount of grenades needed to kill an enemy such as Centurions, Phantoms, or Geth Rocket Troopers. Warp is there for a single target but most enemies may dodge the first Warp.

N00b rating: 2. If you see enemies use Overload and just spam the Falcon. When the cooldown resets or you need to reload, use Overload again.
