Build Title: Krogan Marksman (Soldier, can be done on Sentinel as well with tech armor and incinerate instead of fortification and carnage using the same strategy/tactics.)
Power Evolutions:
Fortification: Durability (4), Shield recharge (5), Durability (6)
Carnage: Radius (4), Incapacitate (5), Armor damage (6)
Inferno Grenade: 0
Krogan Berserker: Weapon damage (4), Headshots (5), Weapon damage (6)
Rage: Durability (4), Shield recharge (5), Fitness expert (6)
Weapons:
Widow, Black Widow, or Javelin. This build uses precise, long-range weapons. Alternatives are Geth Plasma Shotgun, Graal Spike Thrower, Saber, or any Sniper. (on shotguns, I would use a smart choke and barrel mod for the near sniper level accuracy they provide)
Strategy: (does not change between bronze, silver, or gold. Played it on all 3.)
You are tough, you are Krogan. This doesn't mean you have to mindlessly charge into melee. Building a krogan as a sniper, and providing maximum durability means you are one of the toughest builds around. Period. Enemies have a hard time dealing with you because of your durability, and your damage output.
Carnage was chosen over grenades because of limited number of grenades. Carnage provides a 'free' bullet that I built for crowd control while also giving an additional benefit against hardened targets. Keep your fortification up at all times possible. The only time you melee is against targets that are only health, such as husks, cannibals, and troopers. Shielded targets are free for melee once you drop their shields. I quick-aim and fire a shot into a marauder then smash it over my Black Widow, same for a Nemesis. Carnage large groups, or aim it off to the side, or above to slam enemies out from behind cover. Remember, if you're getting swarmed by husks or other soft targets, kill them in melee for the added damage reduction. Remember, this build is not a melee build, but you can still kill things in melee, or use carnage instead of wasting ammo on them. With all this toughness, you can ignore up to 2 grenades before you must move, so long as you aren't taking damage from something else. With that toughness, you can rush to the aid of a fallen ally, revive them, and run off before your shield drops. Enemies you should focus on are Geth Hunters, Pyros, Ravagers, Brutes, Nemesis, Atlas, Engineers, and if you're a very good sniper, Phantoms. Armor piercing ammo is recommended with a sniper rifle that has increased damage against armor, such a the Widow.
N00b Rating:
1.5 or 3.5; If you have some skill as a sniper, this build is cake. It's also a good build to slowly prepare yourself for the melee Krogan builds. If you aren't a good sniper, this makes for a challenging build. You need some map awareness and you need to know about how enemies fight. Prioritizing enemies is a big part of this build for team play. If your team is ignoring a specific enemy while dealing with others, take out the one being ignored, then move to the hardened/lethal targets like pyros, hunters, or primes, for example.
