I look at it this way, fangirls. And I have to use an analogy here.
You're in a RP game called LoTR and there's one romance option. Your girlish little heart gets excited as you see the object of your future affections appear over the horizon. You choke back your excitement when you realize it's Legolas, and you throw your hands up in the air and cry:
"Nooooooooo! Why couldn't you be Aragorn!"
This is how I feel about the romances in Dragon Age.
I mean, who would eat cheddar cheese slices when you can feast on the complexities of matured?
Why would I want to wear a zircon when I could have a diamond?
Why can I only romance college boys and street punks?
Where are the real men?
Why can't I romance Duncan? That would have been epic!
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back into my dark little closet and suck my thumb, and shed a tear or two.

But I can't say I'm not pleased with the options we gals have. They both seem appealing. Although not as epic as those two mentioned above.

There is the possibility of modding Loghain romance and Duncan romance in, you know.

Totally depends on which Origin I decide to play first.

My female city elf will go for Alistair, my human noble will go for Zevran, my male dwarf noble will go for everyone, my male elf mage will go for Leliana, and my dwarf commoner is after Morrigan.

I'm leaning more towards just going for Alistair no matter what, though. Haha.

Morrigan strikes me as being a Black Widow. You choose Morrigan at your own peril. There is only one person who truly has Morrigan's heart and that is Morrigan. For someone loyal who will have your back no matter what, I will have to go with Wynne.

Maybe Zevran, I plan to play my female dwarven commoner rogue first though I don't know how long it will last. I tend to have a short attention span so I'll likely play all my characters simultaneously. My dwarven rogue will use Zevran to learn the ways of an assassin then dump him for Alistair!

Well it depends if I end up likely Zevran, I'll give him a chance, he's so over-hyped for me from all the forum attention that his concept became old before I even got to meet him in game. But...all the hype is starting to subside, so maybe he'll still be cool for my character.

Depends. My first playthrough will be with a male elven mage, and neither of the girls would really do it for him, so he'll go for one of the guys, if indeed it's true that one or the other are romanceable for males, not holding on to the possibility of both. ): I hope it's Alistair, but Zevran appears a bit fruitier, so it'll probably be him T_T



Second playthrough will be with a human female, and she'll go for Alistair no matter what.
