My hope is that this morning the staff got together and said "ok, guys the people are royally pissed. Yes there are some who like the ending but they are far and away the minority. We gotta do something." Someone said it already here and I agree. I'm sure they realize there's a problem and my hope is they are working on something for it/us. The trouble now is anything they say can and will be used against them in the court of public opinion. If they said "we heard you, we're working on it". people would immediately **** because it isn't ready already. At this point the best thing they can do is probably to just be quiet, or at most release a statement that says we acknowledge our fans are upset, please be patient we're working on it. We hear you, we just need a little time. Anything more would just open them up to more frustration from the fans.
Personally if we get word in a week or two that the "Retake Omega" dlc is almost ready i'm going to punch the first kitten i see.
I am curious though how they let this happen. I mean I'd love to meet the guy that thought these ending(s) were great and wrapped up the storyline perfectly. I also don't understand how they didn't have a jump on this already seeing as how PISSED the fans were that read the script months ago. All that **** we heard about the leaked script being "old and not accurate" was BS. Everything I heard regarding that old script was in the fricking game. They knew people were going to be unhappy with the endings. I guess part of me hopes that they knew this and the reason there hasn't been anything said is because they have already been working on a fix and don't want to say anything yet.. for some reason. EH **** who am i kidding.

I still want to know how you sell DLC on a game that loses virtually all replayability for the vast majority of players.

I've actually sat through the launch of games I've worked on (2 x AAA sports titles) and I can tell you, we definitely were paying attention to both critical and user reviews and feedback. The problem is, how do you respond to the kind of crushing tidal wave of disappointment that is coming from the fanbase currently? And knowing that this is likely only the leading edge of the disappointment - the reason this is blowing up *now* is that players are just starting to finish the game. I can tell you, I made a lot of free time for this game, and I only finished it two days ago. Then I spent a day or so in shock, and then I got mad. I suspect this will only get louder.
That being said, there's almost nothing anyone at Bioware can say. Any statement about this would have to come from the top, and once that happens it becomes policy, so nobody's going to say *anything* until they get official word on what management intends to do (if anything). Management is going to keep their mouths shut as long as possible so they can see what the best direction is to jump. I would bet you green money that behind closed doors there are a lot of concerned phone calls going around. Keep it up, and you'll have an impact. And don't forget to make your opinions known at Metacritic. Privately, people in the industry have been freaked out by the enormous influence of metacritic scores on sales for years - so hit 'em where it hurts.
Wow...I never though game devs were like that, I seriously thought they just sat around discussing stuff and joking around making fun of their mad fans. Im not joking, for whatever reason I always had in my mind game devs dont care as long as they get their moneyz and just laugh at negative reviews.

agreed. I guess they figure that after the credits go you get sent back to right before the final mission and could fly around to do other missions or somebull****. But yes I don't see how it would work if there's no replayability. I know I haven't touched the singleplayer since beating it and I've only done MP for maybe 2 hours. so that's 2 hours of gameplay in the last 4 days, after playing the game pretty much nonstop prior to that. give me good endings and I'll upload all my ME2 saves and have another 4-5 playthroughs of ME3 and I'd do all and any DLC's. Personally I'd love a retake omega mission as long as it comes after the ending fix.

Yes, this is what has me stumped as well. Unless they are only planning multiplayer DLC or a new ending DLC I don't understand why they have done this. Successful DLC needs replayability.

"Dude, did you read this? Critics love our game, but the fans are bashing these endings so much that they felt betrayed by us. We have to do something to redeem ourselves and fast. Assemble the dev team, assemble the voice actors. No, I don't care if we can't get Martin Sheen, get CHARLIE. For God's sake, do ANYTHING to make it up to them. This is gonna be big, and it's gonna be free."
"Sir, we just got a call from EA. The DLC can't be free."
"....**** 'em! Get Drew on the line, I liked his idea better anyway."
What's really gonna happen:
-Formal apology.
-Explanation of why that makes no sense.
-Paid DLC that changes nothing.

Anyone who fought the screwup is digging through their email sentbox looking for mail that proves this, while polishing their knives for people they dislike who were on the other side.
Someone else is polishing up their resume.
Marketing is re-running the sales projections model based on the negative word of mouth that's spreading.
Finance is punching in those projections to look for negative material effects on the next few quarters.
And Cthulhu Sleeps Dreaming.
