To OP: fantastic idea, that's just what we need (and a pretty cool charity organization as well). I'm in.

Well, as I was browsing the Child's Play site one last time, I realized that the question I was waiting on is actually answered in their FAQ (I swear it wasn't there before...)  So I setup the ChipIn page.  The problem now is that when you go to donate, it makes it look like the donation is going to my personal email address instead of the correct Child's Play one.  So I am going to try to get that fixed before I post the link to the page.  I can't imaging anyone being happy about a possible scam going on :P

Their help service is not particularly helpful, either - in that it doesn't seem to exist at the moment.

Eesh, that's no good...

>_> <_<

They probably had an automated system, but they picked the red light!

LOL. Actually they appear to have stopped providing direct customer service and the host that has their FAQ pages isn't responding at the moment. So you may be right...

I did do a test donation, and the final receipt (took a few minutes to process) does correctly indicate the recipient as the Child's Play charity. I'm afraid this might be the only way for this to work, but I don't like the initial impression that I am working a scam here.

In any case, here is the address of the page:

http://retakemasseff...ect-childs-play

If you are uncomfortable at all with making this transaction I COMPLETELY understand. I am working on resolving the problem. But I thought I'd at least get the page information out there.

Thanks again DrowVampyre for the graphics. I went ahead and picked one but it is up for discussion when everyone gets back.

Huh, that's...odd... Well, I'll go ahead and put the url on them then, get it out there at least - good luck getting the thing resolved! It doesn't bother me, but I can see where it'd bother some people.

Front page updated with the donation link. That page also has instructions for embedding the widget into other websites.

I just wish it had the correct email address on the label. Ah well. Thank you to everyone, even if that keeps you from donating :)

Here's with the link on it (yes, I changed the embossing a bit - I didn't realize I could before, and I thought it made it more distinct, but if you prefer the other kind just say the word).

Here's full size.

You will want to put the link to the donation page in the first post.  Otherwise people will have to go looking for it.  Just a friendly suggestion!Image IPB

Ok, the URL is smaller than I thought in the shrunken-down version. <_< Bigger font incoming.

I love this whole idea. My personal funds don't really leave me the ability to donate, but I will if I get the chance.

And donated. Get the word out and get some money for charity.

Edit:  Incidentally, I can confirm that pay pal is indeed sending the money to Child's Play's Penny Arcade email address, so no worries on that score, folks.

My ban is over sweet

It's legit, pays to the charity. I suggest making the cash amount open ended so we can be like "hey, look how much we donated" incase it goes over 1k

Nice to see you here pomrink.

I'll look into changing the max amount, especially if it starts climbing.

For some reason I don't see anything beyond the first one, are others getting different values from the widget?

Holy @#$%, now I see it. You guys (and gals) are awesome!

The widget seems to be a bit slow to update, but the control page at ChipIn has us up to $175 as of right now.

Seen this issue before with Chip in, seems to update daily, not immediately.
