Yeah that's true but honestly it was started based off a desire to draw attention to the ending so changing it now would be disingenuous. I think we could probably try to fine tune the wording a little as it seems every article is just scanning the link looking for something to pick apart. But definitely we need to let people know what started this in the first place.
I understand the intentions, but I don't think it's disingenuous to remove the link to retake. The reasoning behind the charity was to show that the people asking for a new ending weren't just the entitled whiners the gaming media made them out to be, but that we could use the way retake united the fans towards a positive goal. But it backfired and now we're getting even more negative comments about how we're "exploiting children" to force Bioware to change the ending. So that's why I would remove the link entirely, to show them that we're not trying to use Child's Play just to get new endings. Don't give them reasons to write even more negative articles.
What I think we should do is state that although it's origin began with demanding a new ending, it became much more about raising money for the children to the point where the ending is just a bonus and mention. If we remove the link now, donators who donated for that sole reasons may get pissed off or scammed. This in a way is us trying to release our anger. So it's really either A. Continue bombing BioWare twitter, B. Spam the forums like hound dogs or C. Donate to charity to feel good about yourself to the point where you may not even care about the ending anymore.
Alot of people have mentioned that they care more about charity now than the ending.
