I'd strongly suggest removing the mention of the "Retake mass effect" and just make this a "Mass Effect community" effort. As long as it's linked to Retake you're giving the gaming media a reason to lash out at the community once again regardless of how much money is being raised.

I understand the intentions, but I don't think it's disingenuous to remove the link to retake. The reasoning behind the charity was to show that the people asking for a new ending weren't just the entitled whiners the gaming media made them out to be, but that we could use the way retake united the fans towards a positive goal. But it backfired and now we're getting even more negative comments about how we're "exploiting children" to force Bioware to change the ending. So that's why I would remove the link entirely, to show them that we're not trying to use Child's Play just to get new endings. Yeah that's true but honestly it was started based off a desire to draw attention to the ending so changing it now would be disingenuous. I think we could probably try to fine tune the wording a little as it seems every article is just scanning the link looking for something to pick apart. But definitely we need to let people know what started this in the first place.

I can definitely understand that reasoning. But it's not about hiding anything, it just opens up the charity drive to the entire community. And I am just as strongly against this remove, with the caveat that it's not my choice. This is how it started, channeling what normally would've been destructive raging into something positive. To try and hide that root now would just make it look like we are ashamed and prove that all the journalist acting like children were right.

Don't worry everyone! Unique wouldn't even think about removing the Retake tags from our charity drives, as much as this makes us feel good and helps children, we do have a cause behind it. Now I know for a fact lots of people who have donated ignore that cause and donate because, well its the right thing to do but as many have said if we remove that cause, we act ashamed. And I am not ashamed, we deserve better endings, endings with more closure no matter how much Mr.Hudson would like to try and brush us off as a "Minority."

I like this idea, though if we make it annual I think the name should be changed to "Hold the Line!" in the future. No sense in Retaking Mass Effect every year now is there?

Yeah I've heard that too. I think I remember Wounded Warriors getting a shout out and I think it would fit pretty well and it's a damn good charity.

I think I remember actually one of the original four saying they were going to try and figure a way to make this a more annual thing. But thats probably a good 40-50 pages back so good luck finding that post haha
