Who is keeping this "charity drive" Accountable, with all the money they got whose to say they didnt pocket it and screwed the community?
Hello, we have a statement on the front page as well, but please feel free to contact Jaime Dillion (jdillion@childsplaycharity.org) in order to verify that this is a legitimate charity drive. The use of ChipIn as the intermediary is at the specific direction of the Child's Play Fundraising Guide.
I appreciate the question, and can't fault you for being cautious.
If you aren't completely sure you want to go through ChipIn, we would all be just as happy if you donated to Child's Play directly

If you read the link you would know. Anyways the money goes directly to Child's Play as evidenced by the many reciepts I and others have provided.

Yes, and Charles Dickens changed the ending to "Great Expectations" because people thought it was too grim.

And now, because I can and because I am a fan of their work, a comment on the Penny Arcade guys reactions.
I like Tycho's response. Although he appreciated the endings, he did not make a blanket statement as so many others have that anyone who did not is "wrong" somehow. I do chafe a bit at the insinuation that if we were merely a bit better read, we too would have been able to appreciate the current ending.
I do, of course, completely agree with him that it is wrong to say that the endings cannot be criticized.
On Gabe's response, though, I call bull@#$%.Gabe
The book has been written and you can change the way you read it but don’t pretend you’re the author.
I know I'm preaching to the choir, but the entire Mass Effect series has been all about creating the story the player wants. "Don't pretend you're the author" is a statement which doesn't match up with the advertised and expected themes of the series.
I actually think Tycho, on Monday, said it better than I ever could:Tycho
The reaction to the endings is an index of player investment and seeming ownership over the narrative, years in the making, and is as much Bioware’s creation as the game itself.
We are Bioware's own creation. They told us over and over that the choices were ours to make.
And I'm not going to give that up no matter how much I like anyone's work at Penny Arcade
To paraphrase my own Summary: Disregarding the Indoctrination Theory (which I thought was the case while playing actually), just as you said this ending was ours to shape over the course of now three games. Along the lines the writers gave us sure, but these lines always had one underlying mechanic: Do everything "Right" and get the perfect ending. The supposed Conclusion to the Trilogy just falls short at this front.
But Anyway yet again thanks to all Donators for breaching the 40k Mark, just yesterday I was beyond happy over reaching 5k....
You guys rock^^

I find it ironic he says this with the Deception novel being not too long ago. There were major errors in that book, and due to fan support Bioware made sure they will be fixed. Deja vu anyone?
