Hey, has anyone else played "Dungeon Siege III? I just started yesterday and I'm stuck on the boss in the caves. A witch named... Uhm... Something or other. I can't even beat her on Casual difficulty (easy mode). She spawns too many adds and I am playing the gunslinger character.

Oh, there is no greater Captain and Second in Command than Captain Picard and Commander Riker. Well, aside from Captain Anderson and Commander Shepard. That's the only team that matches or is possibly better.

I can't believe it was less than 2 days ago that this idea was getting floated around by Unique and the others.

I was thinking "Man, it will be awesome when we raise $1,000." Wild case scenario? $10,000.

In less than 2 days its up to $41,000.

Why won't people understand that Shepard was rebuilt with The Illusive Man's reaper tech that he was infected with while on a recon mission on Shanxi in the Turian War? Hence the indoctrination, hence why the kid was a figment of Shepard's indoctrinated mind, hence the choices at the end.

Its like "OMG this is so NOT the ending I WANTED".... well you never get what you want most of the time. And the ending works well with the whole Mass Effect story, obviously most players haven't read all the background stories etc.

The only pertinent knowledge for understanding the ending must be contained within the main narrative for the trilogy to be considered a properly constructed story. In this case even the information within the codex and side quests should be considered extra flavour due to the ability to skip them, because otherwise it means there will be players who may arrive at the end without all the necessary facts to comprehend it. If that were the case (I think not) then BioWare have failed at a basic storytelling principal. Even if the explanation were contained in outside material that is no excuse for an ending that does not stay in keeping with the story arc's internal logic.

And I've mostly only seen claims like "OMG this is so NOT the ending I WANTED" in counter arguments like yours. The majority of complainants are dissatisfied by the fact the ending goes aganst many core thematic elements of the series and makes little sense in itself, not because they didn't get exactly what they wanted. If the same events unfolded but were told in a way that was actually comprehensible, with Shepard acting consistently, then most of us wouldn't be here.

I've been in DEP since October =) I go to Basic on June 12, and after that I will go to a base. Also, to Unique, thank you. I am very excited about it. Though, admittedly nervous about Basic.

Was just watching "The Deconstruction of Falling Stars" earlier... while not the last ep of the series, I always felt like that ep was a little thank you from JMS to the fans.
