Don't let the haters get you down. This is going to raise over $50,000 by tomorrow. Its up until April 11th, who knows how far this will go when we get BIG media attention.

Just be proud knowing you've been part of something bigger than those dunces will have in their entire lives.

This.  While Destructoid spews their venom, we're about to pass 43 grand.  Hold the line.

Just wanted to say that this movement is really helping me to get through my disappointment and all the other icky emotions the whole 'ending fiasco' has caused. There's just way too damn much hatred flying around these days; it's nice to have somewhere to go where the prevailing mood is a positive one.

...

TL; DR - Sorry for the rant. Basically, I am so proud of what this drive has accomplished that I have a little faith in humanity again and I just want that feeling to grow and last. :)

Thank you, very much, for this.  I am personally trying to avoid negative coverage, and particulaly anyything from destructoid. Their only goal in life appears to be putting other people down to make themselves feel better... in some way that I can't understand.

It's reading the comments here and on the ChipIn site that make everything OK for me :)

Apparently this charity is a bad thing guys

Well they were rude.
I thought if you didn't have anything nice to say you were suppose to say nothing?

There the "Retro- Modern" gaming culture there supposed to "Rebel". What they don't realize most hard core gamers are 25-35 now we actually like maturity now.

Keelah se'lai For the better ending!

Keelah se'lai!...I hate those "Retro-Modern" gamers also good to see someone else say it!.

Indeed, and I don't mind they differ in opinion if you like the ending more to you but to knock people for being charitable? This is intelligences?  "Your donating to people who need help as a way to get word around how dare you help hurting people!".

As I said I all way been more of a screw attack fan.

You know what one of the worst parts is? There are no threads discussing the Reapers. The only comments made about the Reapers are how their expalanation for what they do is so flawed. Rather than debate on the validity of the Reapers, discussing their origins etc. the only thing we're saying is how dumb their intentions sound. That's sad. The Reapers were some of the most fearsome enemies in gaming and they're reduced to zero lines from their leader, Harbinger, and spouting the same things they've been saying for the first two games (the rannoch reaper and catalyst both talk about how they are our salvation through destruction). Seriously dropped ball there IMO, Bioware.

It's just so disappointing to see how immature some "Grown-ups" can act about our opinions.

But anyway, hold the line! =]

The state of games journalism has me really depressed right now. Outside gaming industry specific outlets, the general opinion appears to support us as consumers and understands the point we're trying to make. The gaming press however seem to be stuck on calling us "crybabies" and insisting that we're being irrational without even attempting to refute our position. And we're the immature ones apparently.

I'd really like to know how much money Destructoid raised for charity last year. I wonder if it even comes close to what has been achieved here in 48 hours.

I just see some of the gaming journo's just like scene kids back when Emo was popular...just in it for the popularity and out of it once it became something to be ridiculed!.

Just meant to say, they have no REAL passion for it, not picking on anyone!.

No one here should let the negative press bother them. As far as I can tell by turning to charity the fans here have turned what could have been a very vile grudge between developer and fans into something very positive. This is the best disagreement between two groups I have ever seen. When was the last time you heard someone who disagreed with someone else say "I am so frustrated with you that I am going to give to a charity that we both can support!" I never have and it has blown me away. So Hold the line, break the cycle and spread the word that it would be awesome to raise the total above $50K before the end of tomorrow!

To be honest I think they are just confused by something the do not understand. Giving to a mutually supported charity to express frustration with something is a new idea. it often takes a while for people to understand whats new, and until they do they tend to freak out and over react about it.

Every time I look at this thread this song comes to mind, It show when many stand together there are one voice and no power can keep them down.

On another note it an anime that show you truly can have a happily sad ending.

I wouldn't be so frustrated if I thought they'd taken even a few moments to try and understand. But they obviously have no idea what's going on beyond the official developer statements and press releases. These guys aren't games journalists, they're games ...commentators, maybe? Whatever they should really be called, my point is that they clearly have no idea about, or no interest, in doing any research for themselves beyond what appears in their email inbox or twitter feed.

I'll have to content myself with the fact that some kids somewhere are going to catch a break from all this. They might even get to play ME3 - I hope it's fixed by then, hehe! :P
