$43097? This is just ... fantastic. Every time I check back the amount has risen another couple of $100.

I really hope it shows Bioware (and some of the critics out there) that we are not just a couple of selfish malcontents trolling a forum, but a tight-knit community, who really cares about the brilliant space saga they've created, willing to put our money, where our mouth is and doing some good along the way.

Looks like the USAToday/MSNBC articles are about Casey Hudson/Digital Trends interview.  MSNBC has a link to another of the same author's articles which I don't recommend reading (spoiler - he approvingly quotes destructoid )

Still, they must have noticed we (and I mean Mass Effect fans in general, not just the people here) are a touch unhappy

Might just take time for some sources like USA Today to "catch up". I think the Casey interview is way old by now (in internet time) so, my guess is they will catch up to all of this in a day or so.

I'm actually loving going to websites that are giving us negative press and engaging directly in the comments, civilly, with some of our detractors. A lot of them are good, nice people who honestly just misunderstand what our intentions are; which is understandable, since a lot of this community's sentiment has evolved over the past 123 pages. Whenever I see someone, at the end of a conversation, say,

"Oh, okay. That's fine. I just don't like it when people act entitled, but I guess ... that's not what you're doing"

I almost feel like I've converted another person to our side. I've been following this almost since, what, the first page? And even though I knew our hearts were in the right places ... ~USD 43 000 in almost two days? Every time I think about it I am floored by the amazingly positive rush of goodwill and common decency that emerged almost spontaneously from such a dark place.

I am so proud to call myself a member of this community. I am so proud to be in this with all of you guys.

Not for anyone else... Just for us, the people in this thread, to share the great, warm feelings we are having.

This would be my first video made - ever - so it is going to be BAD. But hopefully, it can touch some of you - and remind us all of how our emotions were as this thing has built up!

I have a friend with a son with cancer and I am waiting for her to let me know if it is OK to use pictures of her son in the video (none BAD, just of his very cute smiling face!) and once she approves that (assuming she does) I'll post it on youtube for US.

Again, it is for us - not for trying to raise more money or building support. I just want a way to recognize all of you. (and it's going to be pretty poor quality too haha!)

Sure, if you're the creator and want me to. I don't mind hosting anyone's pictures on there, if they want me to, I just don't want to take unintentional credit for ones I didn't do (that are probably better than mine, lol).
