Welp, I think I'm off to bed. Less than $500 left until we hit the $45,000 mark!

Hold the line!

I'm very disappointed with the ending we have been delivered.

It would almost seem that Bioware lost it when it comes to delivering meaningful storylines and choices. More importantly, they lost what makes a fun and entertaining game.

Happy End should at least be one of the possible endings. It's not like I lived this world for 6 years just to see it crash and burn, making ANY kind of continuation impossible.

Donated. I hope that something good comes out of this disappointment.

I think that this community's response to something they didn't like is inspirational, I can't think of another example where something negative has been turned into such a powerful charity event.

Regardless of whether or not BioWare take notice, this community has proven itself to be one of the most selfless out there. Hopefully we'll get the ending we want, but at this point we've all done good no matter the outcome.

Keep it up.

Just got 20 bucks in. Not much, but knowing that my money is somewhere there with everyone else's and is going to children, that my money is part of that 45k (and counting)? Awesome feeling. Will donate more later.
Also, how do I get onу of these fleet sigs? Is there a group for it or you have to do it yourself? Cause I really wanna have one; when holding the line, any reminder that you are not alone is awesome

Great idea! I will donate what I can for now. Even if this fails, it hasn't really "Failed".
I also am curious where those sigs are from!

HighSpecter has the link there to Sl4sh3r's fleet banners - my album here has some custom character ones specifically for the donations here, as well as the little button you may have seen - I'll be putting more in there as time goes on, too, so if you have any requests, message me and let me know! ^_^

I simply do not care any more. I simply can't believe what Bioware has done, it's just..... I'm dropping every sort of funding. I've dropped SW:ToR. I'm not doing anything for Origin anymore, there's just no point. Bioware's view of entertainment is too vastly different from my view. Good luck and fairwell.

Hey everyone! I'm awake and back to the war effort. :)

I'd like to help with some of the questions that came up.

1) All the money we raise up to April 11th automatically goes to the charity, regardless of BioWare doing anything or not.
2) The drive does not end until April 11th. We have plenty of time! Pace yourselves, don't get discouraged by trolls, or gaming websites mocking us. Hold the line!
3) A lot of people could not donate right away, they had to wait for their next paycheck (I'm waiting for my next one to donate moar!) so this is going to keep on building.

There have been a couple of themes repeated over and over in these threads - and for the people who don't have the time to read all 127 pages, I thought I would try to summarize them.

First and foremost - a good percentage of the people posting here - felt just like I did. After finishing the game, they felt depressed and at a total loss as to why BioWare would do this to the franchise, the characters in it - and to us. BioWare's total silences, or hinted shock that the fans would not like the ending - has not helped matters. But, after starting this up and helping - whether through a $0.03 cent donation to get on "OneRabidAnt"s nerves (hahaha!) or a $10,000 dollar donation, or simply spreading the word...
Those feelings of frustration evolved into wonderful feelings of happiness and possibly, hope!

Regardless of what happens, a lot of children stuck in hospitals are going to be happier!

Another "theme" floating around is that a lot of us feel this is what Admiral Anderson or Commander Shepard (or even Captain Kirrahe :) ) would want us to do. Turn something massively negative into a positive. To not give up on our desire to see not the ending we feel WE deserve, but to see the ending we feel Shepard and the franchise deserves!

Finally, all of the money goes directly to Child's Play. When you donate, you can have a receipt printed or emailed to you for tax purposes. As many have stated before me, if you are uncomfortable donating to this particular charity, donate to any charity you like - trust us - it will start to heal the hurt you have over the ending of the game and help you feel better about humanity in general. :)

I think that is everything, anyone feel free to correct me!

and

Hold the line!

Bioware didn't let us be the heroes we wanted to be in the game, but we can be heroes in Real Life to a hospitalized child through Child's Play.

I'm good with that.

Thanks! The image at the end caused me to go "d'aaaaaaaaaaaaw'. Plus, I had to say something about the charges against us.

Again, thanks.  We need all the verbal good will we can get--especially with the trash that Jim Sterling is spewing out.

I used to not mind Jim Sterling- he's a troll, and everyone knows it. Usually, he has some really well thought out points, even if you have to sit through a ton of poison to get to them. He hasn't definitely explained why he regards the movement so poorly. He hasn't responded to the 'living piece of art' argument, and he hasn't provided a better course of action for us to take (as if there was one) in order to express our hurt and dissatisfaction with a consumer product. So, I'd like it if everyone just ignored him for awhile- and concentrated on politely correcting the people at MSNBC.
