I'm proud to be here with you guys pushing for an improvement to a franchise we love while helping children with more money than I could have ever imagined we fans would raise. It sounds cheesy over the net, especially anonymous to all of you, but I'm honored to be participating in this. Lets stay proud and strong as we move toward 60k. Holding the line as long as it takes.

Hear hear. Whatever happens, I'm glad I'm part of a fanbase that is this dedicated about the subject matter and universe of a game. Hold the Line.

I am proud to be part of this! Is not often to see a group of depressed and angry people get together and make the world a better place.

Hold the line.

I'd like to help with some of the questions that came up.

1) All the money we raise up to April 11th automatically goes to the charity, regardless of BioWare doing anything or not.
2) The drive does not end until April 11th. We have plenty of time! Pace yourselves, don't get discouraged by trolls, or gaming websites mocking us. Hold the line!
3) A lot of people could not donate right away, they had to wait for their next paycheck (I'm waiting for my next one to donate moar!) so this is going to keep on building.

There have been a couple of themes repeated over and over in these threads - and for the people who don't have the time to read all 127 pages, I thought I would try to summarize them.

First and foremost - a good percentage of the people posting here - felt just like I did. After finishing the game, they felt depressed and at a total loss as to why BioWare would do this to the franchise, the characters in it - and to us. BioWare's total silences, or hinted shock that the fans would not like the ending - has not helped matters. But, after starting this up and helping - whether through a $0.03 cent donation to get on "OneRabidAnt"s nerves (hahaha!) or a $10,000 dollar donation, or simply spreading the word...
Those feelings of frustration evolved into wonderful feelings of happiness and possibly, hope!

Regardless of what happens, a lot of children stuck in hospitals are going to be happier!

Another "theme" floating around is that a lot of us feel this is what Admiral Anderson or Commander Shepard (or even Captain Kirrahe :) ) would want us to do. Turn something massively negative into a positive. To not give up on our desire to see not the ending we feel WE deserve, but to see the ending we feel Shepard and the franchise deserves!

Finally, all of the money goes directly to Child's Play. When you donate, you can have a receipt printed or emailed to you for tax purposes. As many have stated before me, if you are uncomfortable donating to this particular charity, donate to any charity you like - trust us - it will start to heal the hurt you have over the ending of the game and help you feel better about humanity in general. :)

Posting this to help those jumping into the thread here recently, that do not have time to go back and read 150+ pages... (Tho, if you have the time, I highly recommending reading all of it - it is very heart warming!)

Remember, stay civil when communicating, treat others like you want to be treated! and most importantly...

Hold the line!

I feel bad for them. They're annoyed at the ending but can't move past vitriol, or they get stuck in that "just have to accept it" mindset.

But, of course, nothing ever got changed by giving up. What we've done here is change the paradigm of protest, morphing it into a far more positive act, and may well set a new precedent for developer's artistic accountability should we succeed in our aims. This is a very special and important movement. We must hold the line.

Not sure if this is the best place for these two, since they're not specifically for the charity drive, but just in case...2 from Shepard.

Ok "Paragons of Protest" (still love that) good night! Will pick it back up in the morning. I know I keep repeating myself, but it has been really awesome turning all the negativity about the ending of the game into these positive emotions. I feel so much better.

Thanks BSN :)

So, "Hold the line" has essentially permeated the general forums. I remember a few days ago when we decided to use that as our charity motto/mantra. Can't believe how quickly it spread.

Woo, past $50k! Awesome, I knew we'd be there when I got home! Good work everyone!

For those that care, Shepard will be up next in the character banners, both for a charity specific and more general Retake banner, followed by Miranda and probably EDI, unless I get requests for others.

Kaidan please <3

Seconded.

Also we're almost at $52,000 guys! :D

On a note compeltely unrelated to the charity, I found out how Kaidan reacts if you cheated.

It's waaaay too early to tell. Don't lose hope yet.  Today was a tough day, but we've got tomorrow, and the next day, and the next few weeks to look forward to.  Despite everything, I still believe in Bioware.  They're a good company. Try to keep your chin up. ;)

<_<....

Some parts were heinously awkward.  But I think we're finally getting the point where we could be friends again.  I'm still not sure how that date thing will play out.  Haven't gotten that far yet.
