Can we brainstorm a bit on ways to increase interest in the charity? Who has some ideas? I don't want the charity to lose momentum because of the business with the FTC complaint.
just sent you a message

I've spent 7 days and quite a bit of my money to the kids for the "Retake" movement, and suddenly, I find myself ashamed.

Nothing to be ashamed about. I, like many others, feel that strongarming the company isn't our best option- and I suspect that the FTC may attempt to do just that. Everyone wants a new ending. Everyone wants to have a great relationship with a company we love. We may disagree about how to do it, but we all have the same goals.

As for increasing awareness of the Charity, Im not sure, we've gone to media outlets, we've gone to the forums and various other forums. It would be great if we could get someone big to pick up the news and urge people to donate, but I'm actually at a loss on how to do that.

While this is true, we are trying to come off as neither entitled, raging or spoiled brats. The FTC complaints will reinforce negative feedback because of the very nature, we also aren't trying to HURT Bioware either, just get new endings added. The FTC will hurt BW sales if it goes through even though I highly doubt it will.
Remember BW is not a US company, the biggest thing the FTC can do is ban BW made games from the US which would cripple the company beyond repair, not what we want by a long shot. Thats why the movement is so passionatly against it. We want new endins not for a great company who made one mistake (Albeit a big one) to go down in flames.
I don't understand why his complaint is any less legitimate than mine, or yours. If he feels cheated, he has the right (and some would say in American the obligation to bring it to the attention of those tasked to monitor such things.
It is a huge jump from "Letter to FTC" to "Ban Bioware from selling in the US" with many options in between, ranging from dismissal of complaint as being without merit to letter of caution to fines.
To belittle or describe his solution is turning around and doing to this man what many have being doing to us. We are better than that.
Disagree with him, sure. Dismiss him? Don't you dare.

Ideas for spreading our message though guys, if you got any, lets hear em. Small time radio, TV stations? Anyone got friends in the media who might be able to help us? We've held the line damn well but it might be time for even us to take a slightly more direct approach. Not only for the new endings but I'd love to see more money raised for these kids.

Has en email been sent to Erik Kain at forbes? I guarantee he will be writing an article regarding the new developments and a statement from us may help. It puts the focus back on the charity.

Again, I'm not certain you understand the mission/purpose of the FTC and how it functions.
But my main point is simply this: I'm shocked to see so many who have eloquently, compassionately and intelligently express themselves about being marginallized attack ANY fellow human in exactly the same fashion.

It´s weired nobody wrote a big story about Retake and Childs play. Guys with a high impact like Jörg Luibl always wrote a comment on something big like that.

Yes if someone who is not currently feeling like crap (Go being sick) E-Mail our ally at Forbes and ask him to do an article on this some more, that would be great. The man has been amazingly in support of us since the beginning of this and has written nothing but informative and solid press, also perhaps we could ask him if he has contacts anywhere else who might be willing to aid us in raising awareness.

Ok, also, who wants to write the e-mail to Erik (Forbes) ? Don't want him to get spammed.

As far as encouraging the movement, I once again think that reaching out to other communities and doing fun things would be best.
Is someone a good singer? They could also sing Scientist Salarian.
Is someone an artist? Take comissions for the charity.
I'm baking a krogan birthday cake for Shepard. Take your talents, and use them.
