I am way behind at work and having trouble keeping up with everything here, but I like the idea of trying to get the ratings up on the community sites (although I have a feeling it will be an uphill battle).

99% of this game is better than anything else I have ever experienced. We are pushing for that last one percent - but that doesn't invalidate all of the excellence that exists otherwise.

I don't know how I feel about putting links directly to the charity page in there though. I know it is a publicity thing as well, but I might rather have links to the facebook page or the main ME3 forum; something to give people an idea of what our grievances are, but not hit them over the head.

I could just be paranoid though :)

Maybe to just this thread?

Think it's funny that people seem to believe that this is the only time we donate to charity. This is just icing on the top for me and probably a lot of you all. I myself donate to St. Judes, Feed the Chidlren, Open Door Mission and some other ones. Just wondering what all charities everyone else donates to. I always look for new charities to donate to each year and will probably add Child's Play to my list, anyone else have any good charities that they donate to? I just don't have time to research them as much as I would like as I am working on finishing my Masters degree, working full time and having a part time business on the side. I would appreciate the info. Thanks!

Im a student so I dont really have all that much money to donate but I do volunteer.  Like I said in the post above I volunteer at my church's autistic program but I dont want to share the name online.

One I can recommend is Baja Bound.  They organize missions trips down to Baja to build houses for migrant workers who come from the south.  They also support the local community in other ways.

pretty much the same here. i usually spend one or two months abroad working in shelters or with animal rescue each year. last year austria and guetamala, this year hungaria again. i even have a 'pet project' in hungaria which i pretty much fund on my own. donating and giving to charity is nothing unusual to me, so i actually really love this idea. i don't understand where all the hate and angry comments are coming from, just because this fandom is actually trying to bring something good out of this disaster. and to be honest, i can't actually deal with them. they depress me even further.

I have no issues donating to charity, but donating just to get the ending of a videogame changed, is absolutely stupid. The peole donating what this goal in mind are seriously deluded.

My thought, that I expressed a while back was trying to raise their metacritic score. While I think they should be judged fairly on the ending which I would rate at probably a 1 the whole game would probably be a 7 to 9 for me. Right now it stands at about a 3.5 for PC, XBOX and PS3. I though it would be a good idea to raise the score, advertise retake mass effect and the child's play in the critic and make it clear that while we think the ending should be changed or added to we think BW deserves a fair metacritic score. Plus it would probably generate some good publicity as the Metacritic score was covered quite a bit in the beginning. Also, free advertising that for a lot of people that don't use BSN.

I really like this idea, as long as the majority are on board.  It would show that we're on BW's side, and not all of us are total trolls.

Is there anyway we can drum this up some in the forum and get more people on board.  Also I thought it would be best to make sure that every critic expresses that we want the ending changed to added to.  Any ideas on good ways we can balance posting a good score with our mission of getting the ending changed and raising money for the kids?

I certainly don't see a problem with creating a thread that encourage people to go post an accurate review on metacritic.  Again, let's see what the majority think.  But if a large enough group of people seem to be on board, we could possibly say it's a request from the group who's doing the charity.  An appeal, basically, to the other fans to give Bioware a fair review.  Then just put the link to the Chipin at the bottom. Don't want to push the charity down peoples throats.  But it would be a good sign that we support accurate reviews.  What do people think?

I do enjoy this idea. Mass Effect 3 was an amazing game that lived up to all my expectations and more until the end. It deserves better than what it's getting

While I was catching up on the thread I found this.

Not sure where I should put this or if I should make a new thread, but here is Angry Joes review of Mass Effect 3.

I just love the beginning of this video. It shows exactly the same emotions I (and most likely we all) go through the game until the END happens. LOL!

Separate review of the ending comes later. XD

I am personally against an active campaign to raise the scores on Metacritc/Amazon etc. First off let me say I haven't yet left an opinion on either and I'm not sure what I would post as my rating, But I will say when I was part of the ME: Deception campaign, which was pretty much the spiritual forerunner of the Retake ME3 movement I did leave multiple bad reviews using the accounts I managed for my family. My positive negative review is still up on Amazon.

Bioware/EA/Mass Effect has millions of dollar and huge corporations on their side. We've got numbers (maybe) and our voices. If you want to leave a review fine but don't make it some sort of campaign. While staying on the good side we must make sure we don't all clamber up onto high horses.

Well that's good.  Thanks for sharing your take on it.  Before anyone does anything (and especially "officially") we want to get a general feel for what people's opinions are.

Then I guess I'm stupid and deluded then.  Still some kids going to get a really great toy or video game because of it so I'm good with the labels and donating :)

Ok, also, who wants to write the e-mail to Erik (Forbes) ? Don't want him to get spammed.

I honestly think we should get Unique, he's so damned good at writing non-threatening, very elequont paragraphs of what were after. I'd do it but as I said, Im sick and I get cranky and snippy when Im sick. Not what we need haha.

Thank you very much :)

I wiill be very happy to write a letter to Mr. Kain this afternoon (or possibly evening).  I did leave a comment on his site thanking him for being so even-handed and understanding of our cause.  It would be my pleasure to contact him directly and let him know how we are all feeling here and to thank him.

Having said that - I agree that more publicity will not hurt us.  I have been encouraged seeing links to the charity drive already posted in the comments sections of many game reviews.  But I want to be balanced with it.  Mr. Kain has already been very good to us, and linked approvingly to our discussion here, and I don't want to tarnish that at all by trying to leverage it into something more.

Posting in review sites, even if we don't link directly to the charity (actually, links to Mr. Kain's articles might not be a bad target) is a great idea, especially with the added benefit of raising review scores.  I also think that word of mouth, in social media especially, is our best bet.  Facebook, twitter, email, whatever people have, if you know anyone who played this game, see how they feel about the endings, and then let them know about us.

Thank you all for the great ideas and support.  We are doing a great job of keeping things positive, and that is thanks to everyone here.
