Lol. So Bioware just posted on FB (ME2 page) about a bunch of new merchandise....and the trolls came in roves. I think they picked the wrong weekend to ask people to buy their stuff.

Really? That's... not very smart. I don't agree with people trolling that post, but I can't see how anyone could think now is a good time to market more merchandise.

Fans: "Bioware, the endings suck and make me hate the whole series!"

BioWare: "Oh, we're sorry to hear that, but we're listening. Want to buy some other Mass Effect stuff?"

Fans: -.- Point --------------> Missed

It's kinda hard to translate, seeing as there's no real translation of heroic that doesn't sound cheesy and old fashioned to german ears. We kinda let go of all those phrases after you know what ;)

I'd suggest going with "Ein "gutes" Ende, das einem mehr das Gefühl vermittelt, etwas erreicht zu haben" - avoiding the heroism part entirely but still hinting that it's for those people who did things "right"

"Gutes" Ende could lead to this great "You just want a fluffy rainbow Ending" Argument again...

"Ein Ende, welches die Heldenhaften Taten von CommShep und die Reise des Spielers wiederspiegelt" maybe?

Exactly my problem... What do you think about this:

"ein erfüllenderes
Ende das den herausragenden Persönlichkeiten gerecht wird"

Well as long as BioWare does not add a "Satisfaction guaranteed" Line :P

"Erfüllend" sounds good. "Persönlichkeit" isn't a good translation for character though. At least in this case.
I'd go with "dass die individuellen Entscheidungen / die individuelle Geschichte würdigt"

I hear ya. It's especially hard after spending the entire day on an english speaking forum. Makes german seem like such an overly clumsy, complicated language...(which it probably is;))

I love reading the comments on the charity page. Some of them are really good and uplifting!

UniqueName001 - is there anyway to get a file or something with all the comments on it?

Here are the two most recent (by the way, we are climbing closer to 55K!!!!)

Hold the line, indeed. Nice to turn something disappointing into something beneficial. This feels more like Shepard than the ending of ME3.

Money better spent charity than Bioware.

Why does it seem like the biggest ally we have, is a buisness site, not a gaming site haha. You'd think BW might listen to the guys who KNOW how to make money, over self indulgent gaming media who won't do any research like Kotaku. Ah well, thank you again Forbes.

Also thanks Txmn for linking it.

We'll take whatever allies we can get, this is almost like fighting the Reapers. We need to go to other websites, solve their problems, and recruit them as allies.

I know, lol! Although I have to say, I'd rather have Forbes on our side than Destructoid or whatever. Why? Well...money talks...if the investors and higher-ups at EA get scared enough or see their profits plunging enough, they'll force the issue.

Because when it comes to business, red and blue don't mean a thing - they'll always, always pick green.

I am personally against an active campaign to raise the scores on Metacritc/Amazon etc. First off let me say I haven't yet left an opinion on either and I'm not sure what I would post as my rating, But I will say when I was part of the ME: Deception campaign, which was pretty much the spiritual forerunner of the Retake ME3 movement I did leave multiple bad reviews using the accounts I managed for my family. My positive negative review is still up on Amazon.

Bioware/EA/Mass Effect has millions of dollar and huge corporations on their side. We've got numbers (maybe) and our voices. If you want to leave a review fine but don't make it some sort of campaign. While staying on the good side we must make sure we don't all clamber up onto high horses.

Agreed. Much as I love the idea of the charity drive and am wholeheartedly in support of it, I still feel like the best way to get to EA/Bioware is through their bank account, and right now, bad reviews will do that more than most other things.

I haven't left any reviews at all, personally - waiting to see what happens with the ending debacle first - but if I was going to leave one...yes, it would be bad. The endings killed the entire franchise for me - a fix will resuscitate it, but until that fix comes, frankly...it deserves a bad review, if only for that one (absolutely massive) reason.

I guess I'm thinking about this more strategically.  I totally understand the idea behind leaving a bad review, I have no desire to replay any of the triology because the horrible ending; however we need some other perspectives on this as well.  I just think that right now we are running the risk of having EA/BioWare abandon the franchise all together, especially if it looks like all they are going to do is lose money no matter what.  If I was an executive at EA and BW came to me and asked to change the ending and I had seen the MC score, I would be like heck no.   You didn't do the game rigth the first time why am I going to pay you more money to do it a second time and have people not buy it.  I mean there are a lot of empty threats out there to not buy DLC no matter what, even if a new ending comes out and a 3.5 MC score does nothing to help that.  Maybe MC isn't the best way to go about this but I would really like to hear some pros and cons for the idea or maybe some similiar ideas that would get the same point across. I don't really want to get up on a high horse but I do want to do whatever it takes to generate an environment where the ending is changed and we raise as much money as possible for the charity.  Plus I was thinking of ways for those who can not donate to help the cause. Thoughts?

Ich würde einfach sagen:
"Ein erfüllenderes Ende, das die individuellen Errungenschaften und Entscheidungen des Spielers widerspiegelt."

Klingt vielleicht flüssiger.

Man lernt jeden Tag was neues, Fehler in meiner Logik prompt durch Recherche beseitigt^^

But back to English now, don't want to get this thread closed for language highjacking :bandit:
