ooh sgtglory, thanks so much for the shirts, thinking of wearing one to the next community service day my school has. Should be good for some interesting conversation.

Happy to do it.

There certainly are a lot of talking points with regards to both the Retake movement and the donation drive aren't there? It's something that's relatively unique, the charity drive even moreso.
Everything from the nature of "commercial" art, the relationship between corporation and consumer, the organic nature of internet communities, the media response, and most of all the tangible good that's being done.

Warms my heart just thinking about it ^_^

just the concept of it.  How many times has a fairly large group of people decided, enough, we are angry.  So to show that, we are going to burn buildings, no wait thats not it..............ummmm yell and scream, we could we could we could....loooking for something really angry and violent....AHA!! we could give money to children.

yeah ill find you a tutorial, gimme a sec here

first thing , every ( i have in here replace with [

k, so you will need the image open in a seperate tab, you can do that just by right clicking the banner you want and selecting open image in new tab.

you will also need the url of the website you wish to link to.

then when you modify your sig, select the bbcode thing in the topright of the text window.

here is what you will want to type, except again, with a [ instead of  a (

(ur)=http://retakemasseffect.chipin.com/retake-mass-effect-childs-play)
(img)http://music.noveria...r_flat.png(/img)(/url)

edit:
if you want you can just copy pastew what i have typed there and it should give you my sig with the link to the chip in website, once you change the ( of course.  if you have any troubles please feel free to pm or just post in thread so others can benefit

second edit:

the idea here is to take whatever website you want and introduce it with the url header, then you place in the link to the image and tell it it is an image you want displayed with the img and /img headers.  Then lastly you use a /url to tell the bioware website you want your image to link to the url you specifed.

When will the letter Campaign start?

it is officially starting today, im told the facebook site has all the info, i can try and track it down and post it on this thread if that makes it easier.

and here we go

Letter campaign. There's nothing like a good old fashioned letter campaign. Physical letters can often mean a lot more than digital ones. I'd like everyone who is willing and able to compose a letter to send to Bioware (just them for the moment).

Letters need to be short, and simple. Highlight why you are writing to them, and what you are asking for. Do not suggest ideas for a new ending other than in vague terms.
BE POLITE AND COURTEOUS. If it wouldn't be in a Disney cartoon it shouldn't be in your letter.

DO NOT send the letters out yet. There will be a single release date, so Bioware knows we are organized.

add: #RetakeMassEffect somewhere in your letter, so they know we are all in this together.

Can't send a physical letter? Email works, same rules as above.

Where to send:
Mailing Address:
BioWare Edmonton
200-4445 Calgary Trail NW
Edmonton AB
Canada T6H 5R7

Email: contact@bioware.com

Send out your letters on MARCH 17th.

Thank you so much ^_^

For the first time I hate the fact that Germany has some sort of "national pay pal".
It's been ages since I've used the internet one, and I can't seem to remember my password

Can you link a new Pay Pal account to the same bank account?

I don't even need to actively boycott the MP event because I am still so disenchanted after finishing SP that I feel no need or interest to play any variant of ME3 right now.

I love ME3, but an ending that basically means you've either blown everyone up (or turned them into DNA juice) or left them to starve floating above a ruined planet while your crew for no apparent reason left you to die and ran for it to end up on a planet where, probably, either turian/quarian will die or asari/human will die IF the planet even has food-sources that aren't poisonous for everyone just is no way to end the journey. It almost seems the best ending would be "let the Reapers win"... and that's not even going into the feeling of futility that arises knowing that nothing you did actually mattered...
I know Bioware was capable of more/better in the past and hope they still are because I would love to play ME3 with my other 6 characters (which I made to see what happens with other choices...) but there's no point as it stands.

It's sad when the best spin on an ending to such an awesome game is the equivalent of "it was all a dream".

I hope they make this right soon so we can all go back to enjoying the ME universe as we should!

Holding the line!

New forbes article out.  Everyone should read it as it discusses tactics that BW/EA are currently using to try and make sure this controversy goes away.

I won't be buying any DLC from EA until they sort this mess of an ending out.  I don't care about a 'happy ending' I just want the ending bioware said we were going to have.  One where my actions over the 3 games have meanng, also one that make sense and not the lore breaking rubbish they put in.

I'm boycotting everything BioWare until they give some kind of resolution. But again - that is my choice, I am not trying to encourage anyone here to do anything other than support the Charity drive.

I bought some t-shirts (thanks for the designs Sgt!) donated the money I usually spend on charities to THIS charity. Am waiting for my next paycheck to donate again and cancelled my SW TOR accounts - and money that would have normally gone to BioWare is going to the charity drive as well.

BioWare is a company that wants to sell products. If they cannot see how badly this ending is affecting their Bottom Line - then they need some business 101 classes.

I also sent my letter today just to assist with the letter writing campaign.

I love this thread - a place where we can feel positive about this whole thing, rather than constantly re-live the negative feelings that came with the ending of the game. I appreciate all of you being here and supporting the kids.

Hold the line!

nice work, i to will be doing a full bioware boycott until this is resolved.  What i wanted to mention though, to you and anyone else who is thinking of getting some merchandise.  sgt is going to take some time, when he has it, to make a more embroidery friednly design.  in case anyone ( like me) does'nt like how screen printing shirts tend to disappear after a few months of use.

edit: sgtglory, whenver you get back and have a spare minute.  They guy who is running the facebook page, who seems to have a decent head on his shoulders was calling for artwork and merchandise people could use / actually have on them if they wanted to hand deliver some letters to bioware.  for the locals ya know.  So you might get on there and talk to him a bit.  Show him the images see what he thinks.

Was also thinking maybe we should do a second letter writing campaign after the charity closes.  have some really really cool ideas for that, but ill save those for later.  Just something to keep in mind.  Ill talk to him about it when i get off work, if nobody else takes the initiative.
