Hey guys I didn't realize there was a "Support Bioware's Mass Effect" movement going on. I wonder how big they'll get, and if they'll set up a counter charity. Though I doubt they will, who knows? It would be cool if they did.

I checked and they have 211 members.

To be fair, people who hate something are always more inclined to be vocal about it than people who like something.

But still, dismissing us as a minority seems pretty ridiculous at this point

Im sorry, but the BBC is saying about Mr Sobcyzk, who had started this whole thing? And raised over 70k? Am I a little disinformed? Can someone confirm this?

I guess it just kinda feels wrong. Like they credit only that one person for all that has been done.. meh..

As far as I can see, they're saying "The campaign for an alternative ending is being publicised in the UK by Sebastian Sobcyzk", so just in the UK. Don't know the guy, nor am I a member of the UK branche of the facebook page so can't confirm it.

The point isn't credit, the point is sick children having a brighter future.

"Mr Sobcyzk said backers of the campaign had "voiced their displeasure with their wallet" by donating to Child's Play, a charity which provides toys and video games to children in more than 70 hospitals worldwide."

He's actually just using him as a source not crediting him with the work done by the Charity or the movement, note it says "Backers" like support of the movement and charity in general. Just wanted to clear that up, so no one gets upset ^^.

That being said congratulations to everyone on seventy thousand! We are well on our way to making that one hundred thousand mark by hell the end of the week maybe at this momentum.

Hold The Line,
~R

The problem is this guy become some sort of "leader" because of the BBC Article. Some of the real initiators must clarify that. Maybe he´s only a guy from EA/Bioware who want´s to backstab the movement. I think that´s a serious problem.

I looks like there are only about 300 or 400 people so far that are part of that movement.  It looks like it is really a minority right now.

Because webmoney is mostly a Russian/CIS money processor that is fairly unknown in North America.

It's a shame how few of us are willing to make our displeasure heard over the internet, us vocal fans really are the minority and i fear Bioware will exploit that fact in their favor. If more people who are feeling genuine disgust with the ending spoke out our cause would go a lot further.

Whatever happens we can't let up and allow this issue to be forgotten.

It's one thing to ask people to sign a petition/join a group.  It's an entirely different matter to ask them to donate funds out of their already limited resources.  Regardless, I'm so proud to be part of a group of people that have gone above and beyond.  This may not have any efect whatsoever on the endings, but it has inspired people to do some good.  That's a beautfil thing. ^_^

Is there a way to donate via direct bank transfer from another country? I don't have a credit card, (un)fortunately. I will inquire directly at Child's Play but if anyone knows I'd be grateful.
