We're actually almost to $73000 already! Wow I need to start checking the RSS feed more often.

Edit: About the Google doc, someone wrote it to analyze how nonsensical the endings are and I think left it open as an oversight or to get the hivemind that is the Mass Effect fanbase to work on finding stuff s/he missed.

Well, BW did ask for feedback...

If anybody does I know me and at least one other person have a copy saved somewhere, so it won't completely die no matter what.

Edit: @OniRogue I stand corrected, and happily so. Great job everybody!^_^

Yeah, I just put my ME3 dlc money in there. Looks like I won't be needing it for dlc. Cuz I ain't buying. If they add to the ending however, I'll think about it.

Yeah, Ive replayed ME3 once because the first one was with no save files and the other one with one of my fav shepards. I didnt finish it. Left it at the last mission because there is no point in finishing it. Ending is gonna be the same <_<.
My DLC money also went into the donation pool.

I squirreled away a copy of that Google doc to read later - skimmed it a bit and wow, those are some very well thought out points and bang-on logic.

The thought of all the joy this initiative will bring to kids in hospitals is keeping me firmly rooted on the Line - let's keep it up and hit the next milestone!

Ahh... this is my favorite thread on the Citadel.  I read the other threads, get myself all wound up, and then come back here to see that total growing, and I can't help but think, as so many others do, "Either way, ending DLC or not, this is a win."

I'm really looking forward to my next donation.

Because it requires repeating:

To Bioware:

Thank you for making these games that we have grown so attached to, and especially for allowing this thread to continue, I imagine it is not your normal policy to allow a donation drive to be coordinated through your forum, and we appreciate it.

Acknowledgements:

Thank you to Rosery99 for coordinating between threads here on BSN, and for encouraging me to start this one.
Thank you to SoHARDCORE for coordinating with the other Retake efforts.
Thank you to DrowVampyre for the Kirrahe poster and custom signature graphics.
Thank you to SirCroft for the Child's Play ribbon banner signature graphic.
Thank you to Sl4sh3r for the War Asset fleet signatures and the combined retake/child's play signature.

Special thanks:

Thanks to everyone who is supporting this idea!

UniqueName001, you left yourself off that list.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who's grateful for this opportunity to do something that we know will be productive ... it's great to get a positive outcome.  While I hope the ME3 endings get a "fix", I'm glad they messed it up the first time, because this is how we all responded.

I think we have a realistic chance to break $100k here. If it gets close I think I'll donate a 2nd time to help give it the extra push.

I'm here with you - just waiting on my second paycheck (next week I think - I am not on a set schedule) so I can make my next donation :)

In the meantime I ordered some shirts (for the family and for fun) and once they show up (tomorrow I think?) I'll take a picture of all of us in the shirts and post it here for some laughs. :)

Meanwhile - keep supporting the children, keep staying civil and polite in your communication to BioWare and other BSNers and most important of all continue to...

Hold the Line!

Hm, awesome, finally found the place to donate lol.

$100 invested.

Could've gone on ME products, and might still BW making the right decision withstanding! (Mmm, love the smell of bribery in the morning!)

I don't think it will be any time soon.  They just announced on Friday that they were listening to our feedback about the endings.  Maybe we'll get some answers when PAX rolls around.

I think we will see something at PAX as well.  If they don't say anything or say the wrong thing it will only get worse.

Also I need to apologize for not being as active.  Retake has my full support but RL has to come first.

Keep holding the line.

*Sigh* Anybody up for a pep talk? Getting kinda depressed.:(

Just realised that even if we pull this off, Mass Effect will never have an ending worthy of the series.
It feels like it would simply be too big a task to make it anything more than "okay"...let alone give us the multitude of endings we had hoped for

I don't think an ending worthy of the series was ever an option.  No ending is going to answer every question.  But I think BW can deliver and ending that isn't full of massive plot holes and and ending that isn't so incredibly depressing and crippling to any continuation of the universe.  There's no doubt that any alteration will take a lot of time, but I still have faith in BW.  They're incredible story tellers and good people.  Hang in there and have a little faith. ^_^

If we don't hear anything at PAX I'm at least hoping that fans aren't absolute d*cks about it.  We can't expect immediate results in this.  Crafting a story, especially one fraught with so many variables, is something that takes a lot of planning.  As long as they give us some indication that something is in the works, I'll be one happy lady.  Until then ,we focus on the positive.  Like hitting 100k.  Oooh yeah :o
