I just had that all brought up again, when I read Dr. Muzykas Statement. Sorry to confront you with all this out of nowhere.

Had to flush it out...

Hold the line!

I know that feeling. It's like waiting for the other shoe to drop, and then realizing that wait...this is it...
This is IT? No defiant Shepardspeech, just lay down and accept what your being fed, no "take a third option" (or fourth etc. int his case).

It reminds me of this:

Not sure if I missed a discussion on this during my slumber, but I just woke up and read this:

Pretty welcome, but unsurprising information. It certainly felt like a unilateral design decision, and it looks like that despite his denial these statements did really come from a staff writer. If one of them has broken rank and said this I can imagine there was a lot of bad feeling among the junior staff when they found out how things would end and they feel BioWare are allowing them to be unfairly blamed. I hope they have a nice feeling of vindication at the fan reaction.

Still, very silly career decision by this writer. I hope BioWare keep him about, he's clearly talented and passionate, but chances are he'll be made an example of.

Part of me hopes this is real, because it would make so much sense.  Part of me hopes it's not, becuase I really don't want that guy to get fired.  I know it has been officially called a hoax by mods, but it looks pretty fraking real to me.

It makes more than sense when you think about it. I just believe that it was a drunk bender or something. Ive had that before when people disregard your opinions at work and then you turn out right and you get angry for ruining a project that youve loved so much. You just let the world know what you think.

Of course he had to take down the messages and I think hes just sorry for blowing off steam like that. I personally respect him for doing this and It just shows that a team effort should STAY a team effort till the end.

I think if I'd been in his position I'd have reacted that way without the need for booze. If the people I worked for tacitly allowed fans to include me in the blame for something I had no part in and would have opposed if given the opportunity I would likely have ended up doing the same.

I'm also glad this is out there because it also totally destroys the argument that we should "respect BioWare's artistic decisions". It shows that when it came to the ending BioWare management had no respect for the people who actually made the bulk of those artistic dicisions, and that they would have given us the ending we wanted if they had been consulted. Ergo: those opposed to the ending have more respect for the art than those in support.

Melicamp that was very well put, I hadn't thought of it that way myself. It's quite a feeling to have some work, art, etc you're expecting to have a say in, and that you've put your heart into practically slapped out of your hands. And then not to be consulted on it's completion.

This.

Also, even if it's not genuine, I'm guessing a lot of devs are feeling this way right now.  Getting a lot of flack over something that they had little to no part in creating (but which reflects on the whole of the creation).  I really feel for them right now.

I need to remind everyone to take it easy, I've seen a couple of very un-civil comments directed at or about Mr.Hudson and whatever he had to do with this ending, even if it was all his idea, lets not forget he led the team on ME1 and ME2, games that we give our unending, unconditional love. Yes ME3's ending sucked ever loving balls but that doesn't mean we need to talk about Casey losing his job, I would personally feel extremely crappy about myself if ANYONE lost there job over our protest. We are doing this to get new endings added or altered and to bring attention that they made a mistake, an error in judgment, we hope that in our cries to them, they will fix it and won't make it again in the future. So please lets keep it civil, we don't need members being banned, that would kill the movement and any hope we have. And it would hurt the kids.

Hold The Line, Comrades.

That to the second Power ^_^

We take pride in our civility and even though we are disappointed in the ending, this is no reason for personal attacks on the Development team (and is a bannable offense on these Forums)

Still, hold the Line fellow Paragons!

Yeah, saw that yesterday.  It's still suspicious though.  Officially I'll say that I don't believe it was true because I don't want the guy to lose his job over it.

I understand why Bioware has to say it's fake and that the writer is denying it.... but I still 100% believe it's true, unless it's found that someone actually hacked his account.  He's a well known poster on those forums.

Still, cats out of the bag.

Just thinking out loud here, but IF that piece was real...would Bioware react in any other way? I think they'd deny it until the end of time! And yes, it could very well be fake...but it would be a damn good one!

And because it's so good, it makes it all the more suspicious.. I guess we'll just have to see if the writer in question makes a sudden carreer move in the next few weeks/months...

Exactly. If he wasn't a regular poster it would be a lot more obvious that it was fake.  That being said, I'm sure he was under some NDA so the fact that he would talk about it is equally odd.  Who knows.

I have only ever responed to people on this forum and on any internet discussion with respect and politness, I hope our group as a whole continues there well mannered behaviour because it would be a terriable shame to come across as bullying/harrasing people to do something, actually worked. We all would love a new ending and I think most of us love that we are all helping the charity so, now we have had some sort of confirmation from Ray M we all have to be in for the long haul and continue to be polite and respectfull :) so proud of this community - hold the line

What I personally think of this is a different matter all together, I just wanted to say that this is the Information we can work with for now :bandit:

As a nod to my reading of the Final hours of Mass Effect:

"Sensing his [Casey Hudsons] fascination with the plane, technology and outer space, I [Geoff Keighley] ask him if perhaps his next adventure will be trying to fly into space on Virgin Galactic.

To my surprise he says that no, that doesn't really interest him at all.
'I'd rather pilot something, not be a passenger,' he says as he walks around and inspects his plane. 'I want to be in control of where I'm going, what I'm there to do and the choices that I'm making.'

And that, right there is exactly why players feel the way they do about Mass Effect.
"

(emphasis added by me)

Yeah that's what ME was for me and the Reason we are complaining ^_^

Nicely put Oni! Completely agree! Wonder if Casey knew that we'd use this quote against him in our quest for new endings.. :innocent:

If you look at how many people actually contributed to the donation sum, there's still a lot of room for growth!!

BOOM. Colin's going to reap a whirlwind on Twitter pretty soon...

I'm fine with people changing their opinions over time, and think that two years is a long enough time to accumulate experiences that could change his stance on this issue, but from how Moriarty has been conducting himself on Twitter I think he may just be a contrarian.

This Moriarty said many questionable thigns in the mentioned "Dangerous Precedent" Video...

to paraphrase:

"Why couldn't BioWare simply add 50 Endings? Because then there would be gamers who get potentail for a Sequel and some that don't etc..."

Funny how BioWare didn't seem to mind putting this exact thing into the Ending of ME2 :bandit:.

But as I said earlier, this comes from the same people who said that the DR. Statement equals an announcement of changed endings
