Gamefaqs has a poll out about whether the ending should be changed. People might want to drop by and enter their vote.

What I am seeing on all these reviews and commentary is that those that played the Mass Effect 3 are on the line with us. Those that never played it are against us. Which tells me all I need to know. Fix it Bioware.

Part of me wants to redub that with Casey/Walters sitting in their office being all like "Sorry I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome my ending is":P

Nvm. Donated a little more. Keep it up, folks

When I hear the name Colin Moriarty I suddenly want nothing to do with anything that is about to be said. I honestly don't think he knows where his own opinions are.

Not sure if I missed a discussion on this during my slumber, but I just woke up and read this:

http://www.gamefront...lam-the-ending/

Pretty welcome, but unsurprising information. It certainly felt like a unilateral design decision, and it looks like that despite his denial these statements did really come from a staff writer. If one of them has broken rank and said this I can imagine there was a lot of bad feeling among the junior staff when they found out how things would end and they feel BioWare are allowing them to be unfairly blamed. I hope they have a nice feeling of vindication at the fan reaction.

Still, very silly career decision by this writer. I hope BioWare keep him about, he's clearly talented and passionate, but chances are he'll be made an example of.

Part of me hopes this is real, because it would make so much sense.  Part of me hopes it's not, becuase I really don't want that guy to get fired.  I know it has been officially called a hoax by mods, but it looks pretty fraking real to me.

I kind of feel like this. It would help validate all of our "It was like a whole different team of writers were in charge of the ending!" comments/feelings, but I don't want anybody to get in serious trouble over this either. But I guess we'll never really know unless Bioware says it's real because even though they've denied it there's still that lingering doubt that they're doing it for PR reasons.

The Prostet is spreading around the world...
Here on the blog of a journalist on Le Monde, one of the biggest french newspaper and news website
http://playtime.blog...toire-sans-fin/

"Mass Effect 3, the endless story"

"Considering that the game, suposed to offer players a variety of moral choices, ultimately gives few endings, groups emerged on the social networks"

"The irony is that the designers of the Mass Effect series have made their community relationship a main goal."

Good work so far. I've given towards the childplay protest and I hope Bioware will fight EA (who I'm guessing forced Bioware to hurry the game, hence the ending) and give the amazing story the ending it should have had.

We shall go on to the end. Hello everyone,

As of today, I have set an end goal for our fundraiser at $80,000.

The very idea that we would even be able to reach that goal was a fever dream only a week ago.  I don't believe anyone can or should consider this effort to have been anything but spectacularly successful.  As evidenced by the statement from Dr. Myzuka yesterday, we have made our voices heard.  Those of you here have taken special care to be heard in a polite, positive manner, and I believe that this is a major contributor to that success.

We have shown our sincerity and passion.  We have brought positive attention to the Retake Mass Effect movement.

Make no mistake.  This effort has been victorious.

I have been in contact with a manager at Child's Play.  First, he wanted to stress how grateful they were for our efforts here, and the huge impact it will have in helping the charity.  However, he pointed out that several sources are incorrectly assuming a link between the charity and the petition, or outright support of the petition by the charity.  This has been a source of difficulty for them, and it has been requested that we wind this effort down.  Again, I want to stress that the charity is not unhappy with our work, they are exceptionally pleased with what we have accomplished.

There will be conspiracy theorys regarding this.  Many of the public statements by Penny Arcade have been dismissive or outright derogatory of our effort.  I believe this is a failure on their part to understand our issues, but they are entitled to their opinion.  Regardless, I want to stress that I do not believe for one second that this is an attempt by anyone at Penny Arcade to silence this movement.

I also want you all to know I am acting unilaterally in this decision.  I have been provided many eloquent arguments against winding down the drive and I appreciate them.  In the end, however, I believe that now is the time for this phase of the process to come to an close.

Retake Mass Effect is not over by any means; Dr. Myzuka's statement was welcome, but did not directly address our concerns.  You have been heard.  Now it is time to make sure they get the details right :)

I will be taking a break from BSN for a time.  My sincerest thanks to everyone who has supported this effort whether through donations, publicity, or kind words.  Special thanks to the core group here who kept this thread polite, positive, and on track.

I hope to soon have an archive of the comments made on the ChipIn page located at www.wewillholdtheline.org.

To everyone here - my thanks, and I salute you.

Sincerely,

Robb

Find it in you, raise your eyes
Look beyond the place you stand
Towards the furthest reaches
And to the smallest of things
The sound you are hearing
Is the symphony of what we are
Revelation will not come
With heart and mind closed and divided

No need of sun to light the way
Across the ages, we have reigned as we endured
Through the storm fronts we will ever surely pass
To stand as never ending light

Well I won't say I am not dissapointed, UN, I had hoped if we did close it down you'd set it for 100k but I understand you're reasoning...sort of. It's been a sincere honor, for the rest of us...I say we keep this thread going, keep together and let our voices be heard!

[EDIT]
Aaahw, sad to hear that UN, but totally understandable. Might be wise to put this in the opening post? Or maybe a different topic?? Just to silence the conspiracy theorists among us??

Anyway, thank you for all the effort you put into this!
*salutes*

Remember everyone, the fight is not over! We still have a thousand dollars to go and beyond that, we have to hold the line! We've donated vast sums of money but now it's time to prove our true mettle, we've spoken with our wallets, with our words...but now? Now we must endure the coming weeks in just standing strong and holding the line!

I believe in you, UN believes is us and if you ever get weary remember that somewhere across that screen, someone believes in YOU. We all believe in each other and now we must use this strength to stand strong, so my Comrades...Stand Firm, Hold the line with me!

This is truly sad news for me. I am amazed that the forces (varied as they were) against us managed to shut down this effort so short of our projected end date. The amount of good we did was phenomenal, and I am for the first time on this thread expressing my active anger at the people who's ignorance, malice, or just shoddy reporting led to this.

I think we accomplished more than most of us thought possible, and I for one will continue to give to Child's Play when I can in the future as, as I hope others will.

I'm crushed to see the drive come to an end. But heatened that the Retake movement survives.
It is a real honor to have been a small part of this.

It's good to know, even In the end, the Paragons held the line for the kids to the last.
Still holding the line for ME3

Yeah, I'm disappointed too, but in the end UN has to do what feels right, just like any of us. I'm not budging from the line - I know most of you won't either.

We won a victory with Dr. Muzyka's statement, but it's not over, not by a long shot. And I know that some people are advocating for Gandhi style quotes, or even my previous MLK one, but right now...here's the one on my mind, the one that fits my current feelings:

"Hold! Give them nothing, but take from them everything!"
