Ok, here's a preliminary of the requested Garrus banner - I may make another version, but for now, here's one you can use if you like:

Thank you! I used it, wouldn't mind some others but hey, I'm not complaining, I'm just Holding The Line!

EDIT: Booo, to small sig area, it gets rid of my "His name was Marauder Shields, he died protecting us from the ending" Oh well though, one goes away so others may live on.

Which others would you like? I've done about...half?aA little over half? ...of the main characters, and I can easily swap out the text for this text. Or make you one if I don't have that character yet, it'll just take a bit longer.

I'm sure others want main characters first, but after that, if you could do a Maraduer Shields one, that would be totally awesome for me. If not, no big deal, I will be here on the line.

I'll do a Shields one, sure. It'll just take a bit longer cause I hafta find a source image, extract him, find a background icon, figure out coloration, etc.

Take your time. That you will even do it, makes me very happy. I'm here for the longterm, just Holding The Line.

Posted upthread already, but here it is again - hope you like it!

For the charity thing, why don't we have a general donation pool, and then either by a vote or random decision give the money to one of a number of charities (or possibly multiple ones), that way nobody has to be directly linked and it comes across as simply the good will gesture that it was intended to be.

Sorry if somebody has already suggested this, I haven't read the whole thread.

This isn't a bad idea.  The difficult part would be finding someone we would all trust with the funds.

Stanley Woo has been keeping an eye on us. Why not have him hold the funds and get Bioware involved. They'd finallly be interacting with us, and doing some good as well.

You are just full of lolz tonight

Why not, I thought you trusted Bioware?  =]

I trust them enough to do this, they could make a video out of the donation.

I do trust BW.  Even though they broke my heart into a thousand pieces.  I'm trusting them to at least try to put it right.

As for their direct involvement in any future Retake endeavor, I think we'll see Krogans fly first.

Let's not get into the returning of donations sh*t again.  If anyone feels they want their money back from CP, please contact snajones for instructions until we can get something official posted (sorry snajones).

NP :) I still love ya!

Happy to help if I can - anyone who has questions about what is happening (rumor free!) or wants to know about that subject, I am happy to help.

Meantime, stay positive, support each other (and the movement in a civil, respectful manner) and

Jumping ship to a new charity leaves us open to the media's inevitable stance: "Well...I guess they didn't really care about Child's Play. It's all about the attention. They don't care WHO they give their money to, as long as it's positive attention." It will look very, very bad. And I know how sad that is. Giving money to charity is a wonderful thing, and I encourage all of you to continue to do so within your means, but as an organized group, I think Retake Mass Effect needs to look to another avenue. For now.

I really disagree - assuming that we're leaving the 80K with Child's Play and simply moving to another charity for further donations. I don't see how simply stopping donating to Child's Play, when that was requested of us by the charity itself and not a choice we made, shows that we don't really care about the charity.

I don't think we should be worrying how it makes us look to find a new charity for further donations. We should just concentrate on finding a good cause and making sure that as many positive effects result from our ME3 ending disappointment as possible.

This proves that you're only "donating" to further your own cause. You're not doing it because you want to, you're doing it because you want a company to do what you want them to do. Which, again, is disgusting.

As for everyone else who is even contemplating asking for your money back from CP:

And wanting your money back? That is DEPLORABLE. You cannot think that taking money away from the charity you donated to is a good thing. It makes you a sad, sad human being and it makes everything "good" you think you're doing look so bad, that I have no words.

In my opinion, this is sick. The whole "We want our money back because Child's Play doesn't agree with us!" is disgusting. And really, I hope the ones who are pushing to get your refund are ashamed of yourselves.

Please don't exaggerate and set up straw men arguments, very few people have said they want their donations back. As has been stated it's not child's plays fault, or the children's fault. It is the person or group of people who threatened Child's play with influence/money/press coverage. Choose your poison.

Regardless of who is at fault. It's disgusting that you would even think of taking your money away from them that you gave them "out of the kindness of your heart".

Why don't we chill out on the charity thing for a few days.

I say we get Bioware involved, instead of them being these silent guys who occassionally comment, why don't we do some good together. With their communication networks and our donations we could really wind up donating a lot to a charity of our choosing. Heck Bioware could create a poll and have us choose a charity  and we could work together and prove that they care about not only their fans but people in general.

I really like the generous spirit, but the CP drive worked precisely because there was no middle man.  Donations went directly from your bank accoun to CP.  If, after lengthy discussion and consideration, the majority decides that another charity is the right way to take Retake, the only way I see it working is in the same fashion as the CP drive. Via paypal, from your bank account to said charity.

The way I imagined it would be that the charity would only be chosen or announced every say ten days or so and that charity would then be taken off the possiblities, so the movement isn't associated with one charity alone but is simply a donation drive that pays out to charities every so often. Obviously its an underdeveloped plan that is far from perfect, so I'm glad people like yourself are interested :).

I'v seen this kind of thing done before, I believe Humblebronybundle is a seperate drive that gives periodically to the humble indie bundle (correct me if I'm wrong on that) so it would be like that but not linked to a specific charity.

The charity drive was awesome!

I felt so great after donating - I still look back on this past week as a roller coaster of emotions - mostly great ones!

We got some positive media attention. We made lots of kids happy. I think - at the end of the day, it was a "success".

Now let's focus on the next "win" and keep being positive, supporting each other and most importantly...

Hold the line!

I'm glad this is at the top of the page, and it's being quoted again for great justice. We did a great thing, and children are going to benefit from it. Tensions are running high as they have been on the BSN since the endings came out, but everyone came together and really did something positive with our negative feelings. Let's try to hold onto that, no matter the obstacles that come our way.

So. Focus!

Look to the positives people. 80k for Child's play is... awesome. How do we outdo ourselves and take this to the next level?

Hold the line, and smile a little while you're at it. I feel pretty good right about now.

As TX already said, this was a HUGE Success!

I was astounded as we reached $5.000 and now look what we achieved!

We really used our disappointment and channeled it into something. don't be led to believe otherwise!

We held the Line up til here and will continue to do so ^_^

(Except Mr. Woo decides to "End" it :P /just kidding)

I don't see how you got that from what I said at all.  My whole point is that we should leave the money already donated with Child's Play and also find a new charity to which we will give more money.  In this way, we take control of our own situations, forging something positive out of our disappointment with the ME3 endings that can't be spoiled or soiled or taken away no matter how much or how little Bioware does in response.

I'm not sure how that would work. I feel like Bioware wouldn't want to support something that puts their company in a negative light (i.e. that they messed up the ending) and that people wouldn't want to trust their money to someone they already feel kind of betrayed by. I like the spirit of the idea, but I'm not sure we should be starting another charity drive yet and feel that if we do end up starting another one any middleman whatsoever would make people suspicious.

THIS

I am looking to all of you awesome, creative people in this thread.

What's the next idea? What's the next thing we can do to take this to the "next level"? (In a positive, civil manner of course!)

I am not 100% certain... I like the idea of giving a different charity even more money... But that also is sort of a copycat idea... Let's brainstorm peoples - what else?

coming together to organize some kind of Ghandi/MLK jr type peaceful protest at PAX?

Throw some ideas out there - this is how the charity drive started originally, brainstorming stuff!

and...
Hold the line!

And that's what I'm here for. That, and to occasionally remind folks that there are actual living people behind these BioWare tags and working within the BioWare and EA organizations, people with jobs and hobbies, families and kids, likes and dislikes. And probably ponies!

Nothing can make you angry unless you allow yourself to fall into that emotional state. Though, I do find it a bit comical that you are 'angry' all the time and have a name like Diablo, and are picking fights there wouldn't have even been one if you read things properly
